Good Hair Day (anna)

Janessa was taken aback, "Excuse me young lady?" considering Janessa was hundreds of years old she didn't find the teenage attitudes around camp extremely appealing. Especially since this girl seemed to think Janessa was some kind of demon. "In fact, I am a protector of Demi-Gods like yourself, so I don't know if calling me names is a very nice thing to do." Janessa said, her words were like ice, folding her arms. The girls eyes looked sad. Janessa wasn't sure why but she suddenly felt a pang of pity for the girl. She still took a few steps back, "Is something the matter?" she tried to warm her tone.

As the pepper spray headed in her direction Janessa just stood there and blinked. She had become quite immune to most poison over the years and even though it hurt she showed not a single sign of weakness. That is what hunters did. They showed no weakness. "So, what are you doing at this camp then if you are not a half-God?" Janessa said raising an eyebrow at her and folding her arms. Standing straight to her full height, she was quite tall. "Is something forcing you to be here? Because if not I think it would be best if you found somewhere better suited for you." She said, firmly.

Janessa frowned at her, "You know you could try surviving in the real world if you really wanted... or..." She wanted to suggest the possibility of being a Hunter, but the girl was far too miserable to deal with that option at the moment. Janessa brushed the idea off, "I don't usually live here, so I don't fit in much either." She gave the girl a comforting smile, well she hoped it would be comforting. The world of being a Demi-God was hard to accept, even for Janessa back when she found out. Janessa smiled, glad the girl was able to start over, "Nice to meet you. I'm Janessa. That's some good pepper spray you got there," She gestured with a smirk, "But I do know a better brand I could recommend."

Janessa nodded, "It was wise to listen to ones mother. Even if it isn't your real mother." she thought back to her life before becoming a hunter. Her little family in their small home in Athens. She smiled at Anna Maria, "Yes, my mother was a mortal, the mother who raised me that is. I loved her very much." She said softly. "Nice to meet you Anna Maria," Janessa smiled at her and was surprised to see a smile on the blonde girls face. She was glad that she had somewhat gotten through to her, at least helped her anger simmer down a little. "I have had many, many, many years to practice immunity to certain poisons, you will have a hard time finding a hunter who is not immune to pepper spray, considering most of us even carry it." She pulled out her own bottle, "It's a more...immortal version though."

"Then you are even more obligated to listen to her then, aren't you?" Janessa thought it was important to listen to both of your mothers, but she wanted to support Anna Marias reasoning for being at camp. Janessa saw a look of disgust play on Anna Marias face and immediately regretted the subject of mothers being brought up. Janessa felt bad. This girl didn't know how lucky she was to have her mortal mother. Janessa had lost hers so long ago it seemed a distant memory. The thought of this girl despising her own mother was sad. Janessa smiled as the subject changed, "It's a beautiful life, being a huntress." She smiled, "I rarely speak to my Godly parent anymore. They kind of consider us hunters traitors for changing out immortal affiliation." She shrugged, "But it certainly is amazing to save lives every day." She looked back at the Aphrodite cabin and felt a small pang of guilt. But it wasn't like she could have lived there anyway. She was way way older than camp.

Janessa shook her head, "It's not a rule. Just my opinion." She smiled gently. She felt sorry for the girl, for her outlook on the Greek Gods. Not that Janessa was a big fan of them either, considering she renounced her motherhood for huntress life. Janessa nodded as she listened to Anna Maria comment on being a hunter. She seemed like a perfect candidate and Janessa new that Artemis would love her spunk and 'back-off' attitude. Janessa felt a giant smile play across her own lives. "I can't even count on both hands how many people I've saved from monsters. Mortals do not know when a monster is around and even some Demi-Gods don't realize that they are about to be attacked. We stop the monster first. For instance there is a certain troll that hides under bridges," She rolled her eyes, "I've killed him four times already. It's easier every time."
