[Harper Jones]

Harper sat in the corner of the arts building with her head resting on her knees. She had been crying earlier. The diagnosis on her dad was uncertain at the moment and they weren't positive when he'd wake up, if he'd wake up. Her family was going to be a in a bind now that the lead farmer was out. Sandra was trying to help out the best she can, but she still had to school Harper's three younger siblings.

She should go back to help out. She knew it was the right thing to do. They needed her more than anything right now and here she was at camp not really doing anything. Well, learning to protect yourself from monsters and evil demigods was something, but it didn't help her family. But Harper was being stubborn and selfish. She didn't want to leave camp, her boyfriend, her cabin, or her friends. Was it too much to ask that all of this responsibility be gone so she could just live her life?

Xenos woke up from his nap. He had finally been able to talk a Hypnos kid to put him to sleep, and the son of the night felt so much better because of it. He sat up from where he had been and saw one of his judges? Xenos still wasn't certain what he should have called them during the trial. "Hey, are you all right?" He asked after noticing that she seemed a bit depressed.

[Harper Jones]

Harper lifted her head from her knees to see that Xenos kid again. She wasn't sure how she felt about him coming back to life. He attacked her and had some strange obsession with her during the quest. But he seemed... nicer now, which threw Harper for a loop. She shook her head as she wiped off the dried tears off her face. "Not really," she said as she looked down at her hands.

[Xenos Dhar]

Xenos raised an eyebrow at her answer. He really hadn't expected such an honest answer from her. The son of the night knew from the way she had glared at him during the trial that she had been one of the ones he had hurt. He also expected no sympathy for the incident in the amphitheater. "What's wrong?"

[Harper Jones]

Harper pressed her lips together as she looked up at Xenos. It was so weird him not being all evil and such. He was actually acting like... a decent human being. She sighed as she pushed her hair out of her face. "My dad..." she said slowly as she looked back at her hands. "He's not doing the greatest right now..." She sighed again. "He's in a coma and they're not sure if he'll wake up..." She felt a couple of tears welling up in her eyes as she wiped them away. She had no clue why she was telling him this. He probably didn't care anyways.

Xenos sympathized with her. He knew what it was like to lose a father. "I'm sorry." The primordial child didn't move. He figured that if he moved at all, then she would freak out. Xenos hated the camp from his limited experience with it. He hated being treated like he was a dangerous animal and sometimes being hunted for being compared to such.

[Harper Jones]

Harper glanced up at Xenos a little confused on his apology. The rumor around camp was that he'd change and she didn't believe it up until now. She sighed as she pushed her hair out of her face. "It's fine," she said as she looked down at her feet. "It's not your fault anyway... it was an accident that led him to where he is now..." She closed her eyes and took a couple of deep, shaky breaths as she tried to stop the tears coming to her eyes.

Xenos looked over at Harper. He sighed and turned to stare at the wall in front of him. "I lost my dad just before coming to camp. Some vrykolakas attacked me in my house. He never made it out of his room." The son of the night hadn't told anyone this. He wasn't even certain why he was telling her. "I still miss him so much. He found me when I was about six. The old man just took me in. Never complaining about it."

[Harper Jones]

Harper opened her eyes as she looked over at Xenos. She had no clue why he was telling her this and she was shocked. She blinked a couple of times before she said anything and a couple of tears streaked down her cheeks. "I'm sorry to hear that," she whispered as she wiped away her tears. So they had something in common... almost. Harper refused to believe that he would never wake up. He was tough, just like her. He would pull through.

"I know what it's like to lose your dad. I hope you don't have to deal with it." Xenos sighed before turning to look at Harper. He thought about standing up, but then remembered the time that Daphne girl had seen him in the big house.

Harper sighed as she looked over at him. "Thanks," she said softly as she wiped her cheeks, despite all of the tears being gone. She guessed the rumors were true about him being nice and everything, but she wasn't going to bring that up. Then she noticed him freeze for a few seconds and she raised her eyebrows at him, the maternal Demeter part coming out in her. "Is everything alright?" she asked him.

[Xenos Dhar]

"People in this camp don't take too kindly to the mere thought of me. Much less the sight of me living, breathing, and moving. The camp proved that a couple of nights ago." Xenos sighed as he thought about the attack. His vision blurred as another memory threatened to intrude on his thoughts. The child of the night shook his head and tried to clear his head of it.

[Harper Jones]

Harper pressed her lips together as she looked at Xenos. "Even if you can't remember it," she said slowly, hoping not to piss him off or anything, "you did do some pretty evil stuff. And people are pretty mad about it and they are trying to get revenge or whatnot for the pain you put them through." She shrugged as she gauged his reaction. "I guess they don't understand, or want to accept, that you're different now."

[Xenos Dhar]

"I'm not so certain about that. What if I'm not different, but just missing a part of myself? What if the only reason I'm this complacent is because of my amnesia?" Xenos sighed as he looked at Harper. "Did you hear what happened to me in the amphitheater?"

Harper pursed her lips together and nodded her head. "I've heard bits and pieces of it. It's whack. I've never heard of the camp going this crazy before." She sighed as she glanced up at Xenos. "I was one of the ones you hurt and I wasn't going in there. I don't know what everyone's deal is. The people you hurt the least are going after you..."
