Zaylie needed some time away from the camp, so she walked to the center of the forest where only the trees where her companion. She had with her a bow and arrow. She thought that she might as well practice. She chose a tree which she was going to try to aim. She took twenty steps away from that tree and with started to aim. She relaxed her whole body, she bend her bow arm and let her finger be in a relaxed grip. She was focused on her aim, she waited for seven seconds and shot. She was in her same position when the arrow hit the tree, it wasn't in the position she wanted, it was too to the left. She sighed and went for the arrow. One more time to try again.

"Training to be a hunter?"
Devin didn't know why he'd asked the question, or why he sounded so bitter. He spent most of his afternoons up in trees reading. This trip he had brought his bow and quiver of arrows along with him in case any monsters came along. Usually he just stuck with a knife but he really didn't want to have to get down from his tree today. He was incredibly high in his chosen tree for the afternoon and was perched comfortably in it's branches when he noticed the girl walking below. He looked familiar, but all campers generally looked the same from up here. He could see her through some holes in the branches and leaves. Once he noticed she had her own bow and arrow with her, he closed his book and his question.

Zaylie was startled and looked up to see were the voice had come from. "Not really, just trying to figure out what weapon suits me best." She saw a figure up in one tree and she turned her back to try to shoot again, it was very uncomfortable she had no idea how the Apollo kids did it, they had to carry a bow an arrow all the time and never complained, probably because they were already used to it. "How about you? Not doing much of training just sitting in that tree." She turned to see the boy in the tree, he was too high up and she wasn't really gonna climb the tree.

He knew that the girl would probably be able to see him from beneath his hide out, if not only vaguely through the tree leaves. He was glad that she didn't scream, that would have brought a monster upon them and that would have been really inconvenient. "I guess that one isn't your best." He was a fairly skilled bowman but didn't care too much for fighting. When she made his comment about not training in the tree Dunstan sent an arrow straight down to her where it split the arrow within her grasp in two. "Well, I do what training I can." He chuckled.

Zaylie moved towards the tree and finally knew who it was, but decided to keep the act of not knowing, she went back and dropped the bow and arrow. "Yeah, I guess archery is out of the question." She slightly gasped when she saw the arrow, and slowly clapped at his great aim. "Hmm not bad for an Athena kid." She stopped clapping and looked up to him. "Why don't you come down and help me? Could probably use a different point of view."
((I'm a do like they already know each other, it can make things easier))

"Oh, don't give up so easily!" All he could see was the color of her hair and clothes, the voice sounded vaguely familiar but he still couldn't tell who it was. She started clapping and he laughed, but his laughter came to a stop when she called him out. She knew who he was. "Hey!" He called out leaning around the branches trying to get a better view of the girl. He still wasn't sure. He shook his head, he had been up there for several hours so climbing down was probably a smart thing to do by now. "Alright, alright. I'm coming." He started climbing down the branches swiftly, keeping his eyes on his hands and feet, then he jumped to the ground next to her. "Oh! Zaylie." He said, relieved it was something who didn't bully him.

"Nah, I'll live archery to the Apollians." She laughed at her joke of how she named the kids of Apollo, it was like saying the Aphros, the Athenian and the Hermen. They were stupid names but laughable. She waited for him to climb down the tree, silently wondering how he could spend all day reading a book in a tree, not that she hated trees, she loved them but she didn't think the tree was too fond of people climbing it and sitting on them for a long time. "What? Disappointed?" She said to him when he said her name.

"They are very good at that, those 'Apollians'." He replied, laughing along with her. He always thought it was funny all of the nicknames that people came up with for each other. He shrugged, "Not sure what to call your cabin... Demetras?" he shook his head. Now that sounded just stupid. He had reached the bottom by the time he finished saying this and shook his head at her accusation. "Far from, far from." he glanced at the bow in her hand and raised an eyebrow, "You really came out here just to try Archery? I swear I will never fit in around here..." He thought about how everyone was learning how to fight when he was just learning battle strategies and how to be a leader. He wasn't fond of hand to hand combat which was the main reason he learned archery.

"Woah, it is really bad," she laughed and thought that Demetras was a terrible name and for some cabins nicknames didn't really work, just for the lucky ones. She looked around at the bag of weapons that were on the ground, "Came here to try lots of things," She pushed in the bow and arrow inside and took out a dagger, "Maybe I'm better at using a dagger than the bow and arrow," She shrugged, " You never know, what if a monster attacks you at school? Or in the streets? You have to know how to defend yourself." She said as she pointlessly tried to stab trees.

"That is really terrible... really terrible." he judged himself for creating the stupid nickname but it had already happened so there was no point in taking it back now. At least his girl was merciful and laughed with him. He nodded and shrugged, "Oh well, what can you do." He looked over at the bag and took a step back, "Woah! No need to start a war in here." He said quickly, holding his hands up for surrender. He laughed at her tree-stabbing, "Yeah, stabbing trees isn't too hard though, you need to practice on moving targets. Knives are better for concealment, but you have to be really skilled to get around with them to work with a bad guy in your face and all you have is a tiny little knife." he shuddered, "Yeah, that's freaky."

Zaylie laughed along with Dunstan, it was really terrible the nicknames that they were coming up for some cabins, some gods names should just stay like that. "I have no idea what I can do, unless manipulating plants is a weapon." Which drains her easily from energy every time she tried it. She smiled at his comment, she did bring a lot of weapons, but it was all for learning purposes. "Yeah but a sword is way too big and feels way to deadly, I like a light weapon so I think if I practice a lot I can get better with knives or daggers."

"Hey, hey. Plants can be really dangerous. You can use vines to sling shot rocks and you can sick poison ivy on people, you can also strangle people with vines. It's actually a lot more useful than my abilities i'm sure. All I can do is tell other people where to go for battle and see the future... a little." He sighed and shrugged, "Whatever. I'm not good with any weapons either. Maybe we should practice together. Hand me one a' those." He held out his hand and gestured toward her weapon bag, he didn't really care what she handed him but anything would have worked for him.

"Yeah but it drains my energy a lot, then I have to sleep on the ground because its all so nature-y and then when I wake up the battle is already over." Not much help. She shrugged, trying to really understand what was so bad about his power. She looked down to her bag of weapons and handed him a sword that was a bit heavy in her hands. "Here." She grabbed one for herself that was not so heavy and played with it.

He chuckled, "Sleeping on the job, huh? Never heard of a Demi-God who did that." His last part was sarcastic, plenty of Demi-Gods bailed out on battles to sleep and/or do something less important. Dunstan didn't really enjoy battles but he was always needed so he got dragged there whether he wanted to or not. "Geez!" The sword fell to the ground as he got a grip on it, it was really heavy and he was not the strongest guy. He lifted it off the ground and took a stance that his friend, Elayne, had taught him. Then he swung at a tree, making sure to step away from Zaylie.

"Maybe I am not like other demigods." She smiled along, it was probably false, she figured some did it since powers drain your energy. She made a face that said, sorry, because the sword she handed it to him was too heavy. "Sorry," She shrugged and stepped back when he took a swing at a tree. "Nice." She swing too but her sword flied out to the side, thankfully it didn't hit her friend but she let out a yelp. "Sorry, again."
