Why is the Rum ALWAYS Gone? (Xenos)

[Harper Jones]

Last thing Harper really wanted at that moment was Xenos touching her. She was so close to being so close with him, but then he tore it all away. "Xenos..." she muttered as she weakly protested him picking her up bridal style. However, once she was in his arms, she curled up into his chest and cried and hiccuped. She could only feel stupid for how everything was going at the moment. "I'm making a doctor's appointment later..." she mumbled into his chest as she squeezed her eyes shut. Sleep... sleep sounded good. All she really wanted to do was curl up in her sheets and forget that this never happened. "I wanna go to bed now..." she mumbled again before she hiccuped.

[Xenos Dhar]

"All right. Let's go get you to bed then." Xenos said as he stepped into her room. His hands were gentle as he set her down on the bed, moving the covers to tuck her in. "I am sorry. Both about stopping like that and about losing myself there." He told her before standing up and looking down at her. "Do you need something?" The son of the night asked as he gave her a worried look, really feeling bad about the fact that he made her cry. He was still trying hard not to do anything stupid.

It wasn't long before Harper was in her bed and tucked in. She rolled onto her side so her back was away from her boyfriend as she curled up in the blankets. She closed her eyes as she continued crying with the hiccups still occurring. She managed to calm down just a bit as she heard him ask if she needed anything. She knew what she needed at that moment: him. But she knew that he wasn't going to comply. That was already established. She shook her head as she took a shaky breath as she closed her eyes. "No..." she whispered to him before another hiccup. "I should be... I should be fine... I just want to sleep."

[Xenos Dhar]

"All right." Xenos said softly as he leaned down to give her a gentle kiss on the cheek. "I'll see you tomorrow then." His words were soft as he brushed his thumb over her forehead. "I'm sorry love." He whispered as he stood up and walked out of the room, turning off her light and shutting the door as he walked out of it. The son of the night walked back to the couch and picked up his shirt before sitting down. He let out a loud sigh as he covered his eyes with his hands and moved to lay down on the couch. He felt exhausted after everything that had happened. It wasn't long until he was out and snoring softly.

If Harper was sober, she would had made some comment about him calling her love. However, she was not in a good state to be commenting on it as she curled up in the sheets even more and squeezed her eyes shut. It took a little bit, but with all the crying and the alcohol in her system, she finally passed out into a dreamless sleep.

Daylight came a little too quickly the next morning and Harper was greeted with a pounding headache. She groaned as she rolled over in bed and buried her face into the pillows. She barely registered that she was still in her clothes as she reached over to the nightstand to pull a bottle out.

Once she had some medication down, about fifteen minutes later she was feeling better. She sat up in bed and looked down at herself. "Why is my shirt on backwards..." she muttered to herself as she quickly corrected it and crawled out of bed. She tried to remember what happened the night before, but all she could remember was black and fuzzy. Like the static on a TV screen. She finally walked out of the room and found Xenos passed out on the couch. "Xenos?" she asked softly as she moved to nudge his shoulder. "What happened last night?"

Xenos stirred slightly when Harper nudged his shoulder and asked what had happened last night. His arm reached out and wrapped around her before pulling her onto the couch with him, making her lay down next to him. "Well..." He started to say rather sleepily. "You got hammered first of all. Then you decided that last night was a perfect time to continue our activities from the other night. Which I almost said yes to before realizing two things." The son of the night smirked as he held Harper close to him. "A. that we have no protection here and B. that I couldn't bring myself to take advantage of you while you were drunk." He opened his eyes and looked at her. "Then you broke down crying when I refused to sleep with you." He said as he got a bit more serious. "And went to bed."

Harper had a feeling, as Xenos wrapped his arm around her and pulled her down to lay down next to him, that she did not want to hear what happened last night. Stories that involved blacking out were usually not good. And she was right. She winced slightly as she heard how her lust had taken over and he stopped them. No protection? Damn... need to make an appointment... she thought to herself as she gave him a very sheepish smile. "Sorry..." she muttered to him as she adverted her eyes and looked down at his neckline. "I guess I'm a stupid drunk too..." She pressed her lips together as she felt tears build up in her eyes once more.

Xenos sat up when he saw tears in Harper's eyes, pulling her into his lap when he did. "Hey, don't you dare think of this as your fault. You were inebriated during this. I was the one who was supposed to be sober and who supposed to be keeping you from doing anything. I let myself get distracted by you and nearly did something stupid and harmful to you. If it's anyone's fault, it's mine, and I don't want you feeling bad because of it." He held her close, cradling her against his chest.

Harper hated this. She hated feeling this weak and showing her weakness around him. However, she had to trust him despite how shaky she was on the topic. She cuddled into his chest as a couple of stray tears streaked down her face. "I was still stupid," she muttered to herself as she wiped the tears off her face. "I was the one who wanted to get drunk..." She sighs as she cuddles into him more. "That was just stupid..." She closed her eyes as she sighed. "I was just... bored here... there's basically nothing here..." She pressed her lips together as she took deep breaths trying to calm down and stop crying once again.

[Xenos Dhar]

"Hey, I got drunk my first time way younger than you. You don't need to worry about feeling bad about wanting to do some drinking. I'm sorry that there isn't much for you to do here though. I never wanted you to get bored. If you want, we can figure out something to help you deal with life here. Just talk to me about it. Okay, Harper?" Xenos told her as he moved to brush a strand of hair out of her face. "I want you to be happy here." He said while holding her close. His arms wrapped around her firmly.

Harper opened her eyes and looked up at her boyfriend just as he brushed her hair out of her face. That little gesture fired something in her and it was not the lust and passion that she was feeling hours before. It was a different sort of want. One she really could not explain. She smiled at him sheepishly. Wanted her to be happy here? That was something she wished they did at camp. Then again, if they didn't, she wouldn't be here with her boyfriend at all. "There's seriously nothing here to do in this town. Trust me, I've tried," she muttered as she reached up to wipe her eyes and push her hair back. "And it's not blooming with possibilities like in camp... I was never bored in camp..."

"Then let's move. We can move out of this house and find a new place in a city we pick." Xenos said with a sudden smile. "I don't exactly need to stay here for the troops. They have other ways to get a hold of me, and if I need to get to them I can just shadow travel." He pulled her away from his chest, so that he could get a better look at her face. "How does that sound? We could find a city we both agree on and move there."

Harper was expecting Xenos to suggest other activities she hadn't tried in the town. What she didn't expect was what her boyfriend suggested. She widened her eyes slightly as she looked up at him just as he moved to get a better look at her face. She studied his for a couple of moments as she tried to process what he was saying. "Are you sure?" she asked suddenly as a pang of guilt rose up in her for having her boyfriend move because she was bored. "There has to be something more... economical..." She shook her head and sighed. "It's a big commitment to buy a house and let alone search for one." She glanced at him in the eyes. "I could really just get used to here... unless you really want to move?" She still couldn't believe it and she had a list of cities she wanted to live in the back of her mind.

"I'm only really attached to one thing in this town and if I move it's only if she comes with me." Xenos said with a smile as he looked down at her. "And as for any economical problems, they don't effect me so much since between what my foster father left me and some help from a couple of patron deities, I don't have to worry about money." He moved a hand to rest on her cheek. "So we can move to and afford to live nearly anywhere. We just need to decide on a place."

Harper smiled widely at her boyfriend as she began to blush. He would really move because she was bored here? She didn't know what to think about it, but she knew she liked it. She giggled a bit as she reached up to cover his hand that rested on her cheek. "You really mean that?" she asked before she moved onto the next question. "And what about California? I know there's a lot of monsters there and everything but..." Her sentenced tailed off as she blushed and looked up at him. She shrugged a bit as she pretended she didn't just get excited for California. "Or we can go someplace else if you want... some place safer..." And more boring, she added in her mind.
