He was starting to feel rather horrible. He knew about the vow each huntress had to take and to them it was viewed as incredibly important. To Vincent though? He hated that damned vow. It was selfish of Artemis to ask girls to swear off men and then punish them if they changed their minds. Demigods were always giving everything to the gods and they can't give a little leeway when someone decides to change their damn minds?

He sat there and watched as she stood up and walked over to the nightstand to get some ambrosia. A small sigh escaped him after he finished speaking and he just sat there while she spoke. Why did it hurt so much to hear this? She couldn't go back? He stared hard back into her eyes for a couple seconds while she continued speaking and he absently reached up to take a hold of the Ambrosia. It was starting to get harder and harder for him to take this. "Then stop trying to go back. Just go forward. Not with that stupid goddess or with that painful vow, but with me. Leave it all behind."

Hailey bit her lower lip as she took shaky breaths trying to calm herself down. She didn't need to be breaking down in the middle of the Artemis cabin over a guy. A guy who finally wanted her and, even though she wouldn't admit it aloud, she wanted back. Gods, she was rash. One little broken heart and she ran away from all potential problems. She was such an idiot. And she was going to pay for it forever.

But Vincent said something she wasn't expecting. She opened up her eyes and looked into his eyes as she listened to his words. "Run away with you?" she whispered back at him as her eyes watered up slightly. "Vincent... we could get in so much trouble... I could end up as a jackalope if she finds out..." She pressed her lips together as her mind put together a very rash decision. "Okay," she said as she slowly nodded her head. "Let's run away. Together. Please?"

The second that Hailey started to show signs of breaking down, Vincent was on his feet and had wrapped his arms around her. He wasn't simply going to let her start crying and do nothing about it. Especially when it was highly likely that he was the cause of those tears. It was times like that that made Vincent want to hurt the gods. They set these ridiculous laws to follow and whenever someone stepped out of their damned bounds then punishment was bound to follow. It was stupid! Each god had their own damned laws and they all contradicted each other at some point!

Then he spoke and she replied. Well...That wasn't at all what he meant. He slowly stepped back and fell back to a siting position on the bed, his hands never leaving her waist, just reaching across to her. He really didn't want to let her go but he would if she made him. Run away? He was talking about just ditching that stupid goddess laws and leaving that stuff behind, but...what better way to do just that? His eyes stared back softly into her and finally he gave a short nod, then hesitated, before nodding more. "Yeah...Yeah, let's do it." A small smile grew on his face as he stood up again. "We won't be able to say goodbye to anybody and if we don't want to be found we can't send Iris messages...So, if you're sure...When do you want to leave?" Vinnie lightly pulled her closer with the hands he had on her waist.

His arms around her felt nice. She buried her head against his chest as she closed her eyes and took deep breaths. Last night was just wonderful in her mind and she just wanted more of that. She actually acted like and felt like a girl.... something she was denying for so long. At least a year... she felt how good it was to....

She looked at him when he pulled away and sat down on the bed. She was scared for a moment that she was going to be rejected again. Danny rejected her and her heart didn't take the fall well. And now Vincent... if he rejected her.... she would immediately ask Artemis to remove her from camp. She couldn't do it... She couldn't...

But Vincent.... actually agreed with her. She looked up at him with glistening eyes. "Really?" she whispered to him, not actually believing that he was agreeing to this. "Vincent, I..." She bit her lower lip so she couldn't ramble so much. She couldn't believe it was happening. "I know," she whispered to him as she placed her hands on top of his. "Let's do it in a week..." She took deep breaths as she thought about it. "I need to do some things... but we'd be clear in a week..."

Vincent exhaled slowly as Hailey leaned her head against his chest, his arms keeping her close and warm as she took deep breaths. After a couple of seconds Vinnie leaned in and lightly kissed the top of her head. He really didn't want her to break down after all of this. It felt like it would actually hurt him if he saw it, and knowing that he knew about that feeling made it...strange. He wasn't normally the person to get attached all that much but here he was.

The illusionist stood there with her, waiting until she had a chance to breath normally. He didn't want to back away from her even when she had calmed down though but he needed to talk to her for this plan. He couldn't believe it himself when he said yes. Really? He nodded slowly, keeping his eyes softly locked with hers. Then she went to talk and she bit her lip, forcing Vincent to resist the impulse to kiss her. Gods it was so strong. His jaw clenched uncontrollably as he stared up at her, a soft smile slowly taking place on his face.

"A week?" His voice tinted barely with surprise. The timeline felt...close but so painfully far away. He wasn't sure if he could wait so long or could handle it to happen so soon. There was only one way of finding out though and he was willing to do it. Especially if it meant her. He could actually have her, not deal with Artemis and her hold on her. "A week it is...." He said a smile growing quickly on his face. The urge to kiss her was incredibly difficult to resist. "I'll start packing Thursday."

Hailey couldn't help but feel ridiculously happy when Vincent agreed to the timeline. She was going to get it. She was going to be a girl again. Where was he one year ago when she broke down because of Danny? She needed someone like Vincent. Someone who cared about her, because Danny did not care at all.

When she saw that growing smile on his face, she couldn't help herself. She leaned in to kiss him briefly as she got onto her tiptoes to get to his level. "I can't wait," she said as she pulled away from his lips slightly and giggled. She looked up at him before she muttered, "We probably need to get you out of here. The other hunters are coming back today, but I don't know when."
