The Amphitheater seemed to loom over her. Elayne didn't have a lot of musical knowledge. She had never had time to learn an instrument or listen to more than a verse or two of a song, she had always been busy learning some new weapon. But if she wanted to learn anything, now was a good a time as ever. Stepping into the Amphitheater she didn't feel any different. Exactly the same. So she kept walking, looking around and nothing catching her eye. Was there even anyone here? She continued to glance around but felt her frustration rising, where was everyone!

They'd been playing for hours, and frankly, Ryder was beat. He could barely feel his fingers from strumming for so long, and he finally called it quits. "Alright guys. Go back to the cabin, wash up for dinner." He did this almost every night. Brought his younger siblings out to the amphitheater so they could get out their musical frustration. He loved their enthusiasm. No one ever complained, they just played and played until Ryder decided it was time to stop. Naturally, the younger ones protested, but he gave them 'the look' and they left without another word.
As soon as they were gone, Ryder started to pack up. He walked to the direct center of the theater, bending down to lift up a hidden hatch. Back in the day, it was used to store props and costumes, but now, it held the Apollo Cabin's spare instruments. He had just finished closing the hatch when he heard the foot steps, and he whipped his head around, only to see a very flustered looking girl. "Um...You need something?" He said with a raised eyebrow as he locked the hatch, returning the key to the necklace he wore.

How she had missed the guy in the middle of the floor, she didn't know, but here he was, putting something in the floor... "Uh, I um." she cleared her throat. "I was just seeing if anyone here knew anything about learning music." She kept her head high as she spoke, no one else needed to know she thought she sounded like an idiot, or that she felt like one. Battle rule #1: Always look like you know what you are doing. That was a rule she applied to her whole life, she never knew when she would need to fight. Elayne looked this guy over. He was good looking, and seemed to know it. She thought she might have seen him around camp a few times, he never seemed to be far away from one girl or another. She stuffed that knowledge in the back of her mind, saving it for another occasion. "Do you know anything about music?" she questioned.

He couldn't help but chuckle at her statement. "Ah. Well you've come to the right place, love." He turned on the charm and gave her a grin, tucking the necklace back into his shirt. He approached slowly, not wanting to seem too eager. He hadn't had a good challenge in ages. Of course, as he got closer, he completely wiped the thought of the challenge out of his head. He'd seen her. Of course he'd seen her. She was always in the arena, which he tried to avoid for valid reasons. He was too pretty to get hurt. He wasn't about to turn down the opportunity to play more music, though.
He gave a small bow before grabbing her hand, placing a kiss to the top of it. Yes, this girl may have been struck from his list of potentials, but that didn't mean he had to turn down the charm. One never knew if she had cute friends. "Ryder Flynn, at your service." He stood up straight, that toothy grin still on his face as he released her hand.

She kept her face still as he took her hand but shock was apparent in her eyes when he kissed it. It took quite a bit of willpower to not slap him silly, but if he was willing to help her she should be kind to him. When he let go of her hand she pulled it back quickly. "Nice to meed you Ryder. I'm Elayne."She gave him a small smile, turning the corners of her mouth up, as she tucked her hair behind her ear. "I haven't had a lot of music in my life, but I want to learn to play something. Anything really." she explained, hoping he would have a good idea as she didn't even know where to start.

Ryder couldn't help but grin. "Well, Elayne, it's a pleasure." He smirked as he spoke, before he took the necklace back out, only to play with it to keep his hands busy. "Well, The most simple thing we have is guitar. Everything else is a bit more complicated." He explained to her with a bit of a nod, trying to work his thoughts. "Sadly, I can barely feel my fingers. But I can start teaching you tomorrow." His eyes were bright, his accent thick, the main hint to how tired he really was. He'd barely gotten any sleep since Ariel had thrown herself back into his life. "But since I'll be teaching you, why don't we get to know each other? I'm just on my way to my cabin to get ready for dinner." He put on his friendliest smile.
With Ariel back, being the him that he hated was harder. He was turning into the sweet soul he used to be more and more every day. Mostly because he didn't want Ariel to see or hear of what he had become. He didn't want her dissapointed in him.
