Sammy J's heart broke even more as she could tell that Ariel was trying to keep herself pulled together with the little bits of thread she had left. She could feel her eyes start to water as she glanced up behind Ariel's head. She caught her brother's look as she pressed her lips together. Yes, she lived through the 60s and 70s, which apparently were crazy years according to some of the campers, but Sammy J never experienced sadness quite like this except for the day she found out Elvis had died.
She took a deep breath as she blinked back her tears and looked down at Ariel. She had to be strong for her sister. "Ariel..." she whispered softly. "Is there anything you need from us? Anything to help?"

Ariel did feel small. She felt small, and frail and like if anything else were to happen to her she would simply shatter like a thin piece of glass into so many pieces she would never be able to be put back together. The daughter of Poseidon could only try and keep herself together. For everyone's sakes, if she really let her feelings out she wasn't sure what would happen. She might just spend months crying or she might start picking fights with anyone that looks at her. She was glad that she told her siblings though. At least they knew what she was going through even if they couldn't feel it themselves. She looked at each of her siblings in turn, tears still rimming her eyes as she tried to find an honest answer to Sammy J's question, "I don't know." she whispered, fear and sadness mixed in her blue eyes.
