He chuckled as she called him 'Dr. J.' and kept his eyes on the sky. He nodded as she said the last thing we needed was more people at the camp. "Well, I'm not so sure we'd like the answers they gave us. They'd probably just tell us to procreate and make an army of children like they're doing," he laughed and then stopped, turning bright red as he realized how awkward that statement was.

He looked over at her, "what kind of answers are you looking for, Charlotte?" he asked, a more serious tone being used this time.

Charlotte peeked a glance at the boy when he talked and smiled, giggling slightly as he turned red. He was extremely awkward that was true. James was interesting though and she didn't know how to take him asking about it. Charlotte prided herself on not burdening people. It made her slightly uncomfortable, but wasn't that why she agreed to Dr.J in the first place? He seemed, she didn't know how to put it but he seemed genuine.

"I don't know honestly." she said simply before looking up at the sky and closing her eyes. "I don't know, but I want something. Why all of these things happen to us and they do nothing, Why.." No, not she wasn't going to go there. Not yet. It may have been years, but it still played in her mind everyday. She took a careful breath and shook off the thought. "I want to actually understand what they are thinking."

He nodded as she said she didn't know. He understood that. She continued, saying she wanted something but she didn't know what then she came to the conclusion, that she wanted to understand what they were thinking. He nodded, "yeah, that's the big question, isn't it? What could they possibly be thinking..." he had problems of his own, of course, what with his new twin and all. He turned to face her, propping up on his elbow. "I think you need some fun, Char. Charlotte," his cheeks reddened slightly again, "I think you have too much on your plate. Come on," he said, reaching a hand out to her with that goofy grin on his face. He had the perfect idea.

James must have been part tomato or something, Charlotte swore this kid always had a red blush on his face for more apparent reason. She couldn't figure it out though. It wasn't a warm day, the sun was behind some clouds. Maybe he was just more nervous around her than she thought, she wasn't that scary? Right? At least she hoped not. She liked having James around, he was like a breath of fresh air, something that she didn't have for the last few months. She'd like to keep that feeling around.

She looked down at his hand with a raised eyebrow before smirking. "Some fun?" the devil in the girl came out at that. Fun? Oh it had been far to long since she had some of that. She carefully took his hand "I guess I can allow some fun. Just this once."

He watched as she looked at his hand and that smirk of hers had his heart racing. He momentarily had forgotten what his idea was because of it! Then, she took the hand, which surprised him, and she was saying she could allow some fun 'just this once'. He smiled brightly, gently tugging on her hand to pull her to standing. "Good," he said softly, releasing her hand once she was on her feet.

"Follow me!" he said, starting to move through the strawberry fields. He led her to the borders of camp, right by the large tree that was so famous for protecting them all of those years. "Okay, first things first. You've got to trust me," he said, before gently stepping over the border and into the world. "We're not going far, I promise," she said, turning back toward her.

Okay, three, two, one, deep breath. What. “We are going out?” Charlotte said carefully with a voice that was barely her own at this point. A mix of fear and excitement burned her throat. It had been years, YEARS since she left camp. Chiron decided it was best for her not to, to just stay at camp and focus on helping younger campers. Her eyes lit up as she watched him cross the border and she took a step over the border. No explosions, no loud burst. Just her eyes baring into James, her face full of light and a smile that she hadn’t known existed.

Not too far, okay she could do this. She gave him a short nod, letting him know she was in for the trek before walking towards the boy. She had to stop herself from grabbing his hand again, just for support. Like a ground to let her know that this was actually happening and not just in her imagination.

James nodded slowly as she asked if they were going out, but he had assured her that they weren't going far. She sounded scared... but alos excited. Her vocal tone was something he hadn't heard from her before, soft and electrified. He kept his eyes on her as he stepped over the line, his eyebrows raised encouragingly. She slowly stepped over and he could swear there was heat coming from her eyes, burning into his soul. Not in a scary way, mind you, no... in an inspiring way. A bright way. As the smile appeared on her face his own smile grew.
As she nodded and walked toward him he slowly held his out toward her, "okay, come on," he beckoned her forward before turning on his heel and leading the way into the trees. He wasn't going straight, but turing to the right diagonally walking toward the deeper trees outside of camp.

"Okay, we're almost there. Duck under," he said as they approached a mossy area and he lifted some of it and ducked under, holding it up for her to follow. Once inside, he lowered the moss and gestured to what was underneath this moss-made cave.

Hundreds of fireflies were floating about, making the place look like it was covered in stars. "See? I found this a few years back... haven't shown anyone, though. Til now, obviously."

Three Years. It had been about three years since she left camp. Charlotte slowly followed him, taking in everything she could. The sounds, the sights. The change in the always perfect temperature. She blindly followed him into the trees, letting herself trust him and enjoy the lack of control. The cave looked like something out of a fairy tale or a disney movie. Something that would be one of those falling in love moments. There were small fireflies everywhere, coating the dark cave in a soft light. She hadn't realized she had dropped him hand and started walking towards the middle of the dark room, engrossed in everything around her.

"This is... just amazing" she said softly smiling as she looked around. "How did you even find this place?"

He couldn't help but smile as her reaction came, her words about it being amazing. He shrugged at her question, "it's actually a little embarrassing," he stepped a little deeper into the cave, turning so he was facing her glowing face, "I was on my way back into camp and I heard a sound, sounded like something big coming my way, so I found somewhere to... hide," he chuckled nervously, holding his hands up to gesture to the cave around him, "this was where I ended up. I'm glad I did, though." He smiled nervously again, his eyes still on hers. He was glad to see that smile on her face, even if it meant taking her out of camp.

Embarrassing? Charlotte looked at the boy and shook her head "Being safe isn't something to be embarrassed about. We are Demigods, we are literally in the business of always saving our own lives." She took in everything of the cave, letting herself get lost in all the surrounding. Everything was so unreal, it felt like she was almost not in her own life anymore. She didn't have a cabin to go back to and lead, she didn't have responsibilities and things to move past. She just had, now. This Cave.

"I'm glad you found this too, Its unbelievable." she said turning back to him with a smile, "Thank you for showing me this place. Its.. I don't even know how to put it in words." She smiled at him before kinda giving a all around them jester. "It feels like nothing exist outside this cave. Like it can never be tainted by whats outside."

He nodded at her encouragement, but it honestly didn't make him feel that much better. "Yeah, always..." he agreed. Being a Demigod was so much fun!

Then she turned back to him and thanked him for showing her the place, and his smile grew even more. At her words about nothing existing outside of this cave, like it could never be tainted, he had an idea. "Tell you what," he started, lifting his hands to gesture to the cave around them, "any time you need a break, need to talk, or just need peace and quiet we can come here. Just you and me," he turned back to her, raising an eyebrow to see what she'd make of the offer.

Charlotte listened to the guy. James hardly knew her, only in name, yet since the hour ago they met she had never had seen someone so genuinely care about her well being. She smiled at him genuinely and laughed lightly. "That sounds perfect actually." Some place away from camp and all that. No Siblings, no duties, no runaway friends or anything like that. Just you and me. She knew that this was his places, and that she was just visiting, but still the idea of them here together was, nice. Charlotte didn't know what she wanted to do anymore, but spending time with James was on that list. She enjoyed being around him, he made her smile and feel good.

"I think i'd like that a lot, I like hanging out with you." she said with a smile before plopping down in the middle of the cave, "and if you'd like, i could help you with demigod training. I'm a pretty decent fighter and that way you don't have to run and try to hide next time."

She thought the deal was perfect, which he thought was perfect. He grinned, offering a nod as she went on to say that she'd like that a lot, and that she liked hanging out with him. His stomach of course did a somersault and he nodded as she said she could help him with Demi god training. he chuckled, "I wouldn't run away now, but yeah that'd be nice, he said with an even bigger grin. He moved to sit beside her, "can I... can I ask what's wrong? I mean, why you've been so sad lately, I guess," he cleared his throat, "if that's too bold of a question it's okay. I just wasn't sure if it was anything specific..."

Why was she sad? The thing was she shouldn't be sad, Charlotte had pretty swell life, all things considered. Other than the trapped in a camp area for the last 6 years and barley able to leave and when she does its only for a few months before she gets in enough fights to send her back. She sighed and laid down, starring up at her own artificial stars. "Hey you are my therapist aren't you? You have a right to ask." She meant for it to sound like a joke but her voice cut in half towards the end. She hadn't really talked to anyone about this, well she didn't have anyone to anyways. She had never been a fan of opening up and showing people how she felt inside. In her music, in her life, anything like that. Maybe it was time to change that.

"Ever feel like everything is speeding by, but you are moving in slow motion and can't catch up, no matter how much you try. I use to love camp, it was my home, but then everyone began to leave, to follow lovers and dreams out of her. All just leaving me behind. Doomed to being trapped her forever." she said with a half hearted laugh before closing her eyes. "I've been at camp since I was 14. I've only been out of camp 4 times since then year round. All my friends are long gone and the one friend I didn't think I ever wanted to see again is back and I have only talked to her once on sorta okay terms. I just feel like...I'm alone. Like I have people around me but once I get close they vanish, that I cause that." She didn't cry. She had no need to, she had always known how she felt but saying it out loud just ripped the band aid off it all.

She laid down and his gaze followed her. He chuckled as she said that as her 'therapist' he had a right to ask. Granted, he could tell that the comment wasn't entirely meant to be humorous. His smile sobered as she continued to speak. He leaned forward, placing one hand on the ground so he could just slightly lean over in order to see her face better.

Her words made his heart ache a little, especially since he wasn't a year round camper until recently. Until his mother died a few years ago right after that Sea Monster attacked...

His jaw dropped slightly as she mentioned how long she'd been at camp and how little she'd been out. How her friends were gone and all that. Her feeling of loneliness was one he recognized within himself. When she said she felt like she caused people vanishing, though, he shook his head, "hey, no," he started. He took in a breath, "I mean, I've lost people too but... it's not your fault, or mine. It's no one's... because these things just have to happen. The world has to change..." he shook his head, "I'm not making sense. I just don't want you to think that it's your fault," he sighed, turning his own face up to the lights above, "I won't leave," he muttered.
