As per usual, Cheyenne and Fin had to meet often and spent most of their days together going to other meetings, training, and things of the like. Today, Fin was waiting for Cheyene just outside of her quarters. It was a Sunday and they didn't have many duties today so he was planning on inviting her for breakfast in New Rome. Obviously as a professional gesture and because he liked being able to see the side of her that was hiding underneath all that Praetor exterior. Granted, he had his own Praetor exterior to work around as well...

But Chey and he were a little different, of course, which was a good thing when it came to Praetors. No matter their differences, though, they always seemed to be on the same side. He hoped that would never change.

It was another day full of Praetor duties, but today was a bit of a lighter load. It was Sunday, so she only had a few things to do compared to her other days. At least the only thing that made things completely bearable was being with her Co-Praetor, Finley. Fin seemed to have things under control and got everyone to listen to him while Cheyenne put in the hard work. They oddly worked as a team, but Cheyenne was convinced it was because of both of their karate backgrounds.

So Cheyenne knew that Fin was waiting for her outside of her quarters as she finished up getting ready. She still had her pageant roots, so she made sure she was all ready and perfect, hair, makeup, and all, before she got out to see Fin. She opened the door to her quarters and smiled at him before she closed the door behind him. "You ready to get started?" she asked him before she straightened up a bit.

As she stepped out, Fin straightened up as he always did. If he had been sitting he would have stood when she appeared, like he always did. Fin was a gentleman through and through, even if he had a hard time showing a lot of emotions. He smiled lightly as she spoke. "I was thinking we should get some breakfast first. You know, it's a Sunday Morning after all and we don't really make time for that sort of thing," Fin was just as much of a workaholic as she was, but he knew that they both needed something like this. Plus, what was wrong with taking a close friend (who happened to look beautiful right now) out to breakfast?

Cheyenne was about to take a step towards camp and their Praetor duties when she paused. Did Fin really suggest they get breakfast instead.? She looked back over at him as she blinked for a couple of moments. In all actuality, their duties didn't have to start then and there and had nothing urgent to do right at that moment. So doing breakfast sounded wonderful, more than wonderful actually.

She smiled slightly as she nodded her head. Her body physically relaxed as she didn't have to go into Praetor mode right at that moment. "Breakfast it is," she said softly as she took a step towards New Rome instead. She reached up to tuck a stray hair behind her ear. "So how are you doing, Fin?" she asked, wanting to make small talk with him.

Fin held his ground as she looked at him with those blinks. He figured she would hesitate, but he stood there firm until she finally broke into a smile and nodded. He felt himself let out his breath and relax a little as she did so. "Perfect," he muttered, turning to stand beside her and gesturing ahead as they began to walk. "I'm doing well. And you? How did you sleep?" he kept his eyes on her for the most part as they walked. He found that eye contact showed respect, and he respected Cheyenne more than almost anyone on this earth. Or anywhere else, for that matter.

Cheyenne kept looking over at Fin as they walked over to New Rome. She liked spending time with her co-Praetor, especially since he had a calming effect about him. She crossed her arms across her chest as they walked as they made their small talk. "I'm doing well too," she said with a bit of a smile as she looked over at him. "And I slept pretty well last night too." She looked ahead as they got closer to New Rome as she glanced over at him. "So do you have a favorite spot to eat at for breakfast or are we just going to try our luck at one of the cafes?"

He nodded as she slept well, relieved. He knew Demi-Gods often had issues with the whole sleeping thing considering they often had freaky dreams of past or future events, at least in his experience. It was always a good sign when they were sleeping well at night. It, hopefully, meant all was well in the Demi-God world. "Erh- I don't really have a favorite spot but..." he turned the corner, and as he did so he reached up to gently clasp her elbow to help steer her in the direction he had chosen. Then he quickly dropped his hand. "There's a place I've walked past a lot of time and never been to. There-" he pointed forward. It was a cute little café/pastry shop owned by some of the villagers.

Cheyenne felt Fin's hand on her elbow as he gently directed her towards the right direction. She did get a burst of chills down her back, but she mentally blamed it on the slight breeze, not his hand, which seemed to leave as soon as he touched her elbow. She looked at the direction of the cafe he was pointing to as she tilted her head to the side. It was a cute little cafe. One she passed several times, but never had an excuse to go in. But getting breakfast with her Co-Praetor was a pretty good excuse. "I haven't been there before, but I've heard some of the senators talk about it being good." She shrugged her shoulders. "I have no problem trying out with you." She looked over at him as she raised an eyebrow at him and took a step towards the cafe. "You ready to have some breakfast?"

"Perfect," he muttered as she said that she had heard about it before. They moved toward it and she asked if he was ready. He chuckled, "I'm always ready for breakfast. Best part of the day," he joked, stepping aside to let her head in the door before him. Once inside, he pointed out a small table near the window and moved to it, holding a chair out for her. This wasn't a new thing, he would always do things like that for her and for most others whom he had respect for. Plus, she deserved to be treated like she was someone important... because she was. At least to him. Oh, and to the whole Legion.

Best part of the day? Cheyenne couldn't argue too much with that logic. Breakfast was an important meal of the day, but Cheyenne usually had a pretty strict routine and diet for breakfast while all her other meals and snacks were a bit more flexible. But she followed Fin to the cafe where he managed to find them a table near the window. Cheyenne settled down in the chair that he pulled out for her as she looked around the cafe. "This looks like a nice little spot," she commented before she looked down at the menu in front of her. As she read through the list, she couldn't help but think how many calories or fat was in some of the food items. After a couple of moments, she looked up at Fin and smiled slightly. "Do you know what you're having?"

He hoped she wasn't overthinking the food, but he knew that she was. She was a health nut, for sure, almost to the point of being unhealthy. Okay, often to the point of being unhealthy ish. He just wished she wouldn't think abut it so much. "It is nice, isn't it?" he agreed as he himself lifted the menu to his own face. He smiled back at her as she asked what he was having. "Hmmm, probably some French toast, bacon and a nice cup of coffee. Keeping it simple," he said. "What about you?" he raised an eyebrow at her, leaning forward, placing his forearms on the table between them.

French toast, bacon, and coffee? Cheyenne tried not to cringe as Fin said what he was having. To a normal person, it sounded like a wonderful breakfast, but Cheyenne could only think of the calorie and fat content and how much she would have to work out just to compensate for the meal. Cheyenne shook her head at the thought as she looked down at the menu. “I’ll have yogurt, fresh fruit, and a banana muffin,” she said as she looked up at Fin just to catch looking into his eyes. She felt her face heat up slightly and she turned to look away just in time for a server to stop by their table. Cheyenne couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief as she turned to the server to give her order as she watched Fin out of the corner of her eye.

He wasn't surprised by what she ordered. He was used to her ordering stuff that sounded healthy and all that. Usually it was pretty delicious too, so he didn't worry that she wasn't trying in that regard. When the server came over he tore his eyes away from Cheyenne to smile at her and made his order after Cheyenne was done. "It'll just be one ticket, thanks," he added, handing his menu to the server and they walked away. Then he turned back to Chey.

"So, what's on the agenda today, anyway? I hear the third cohort has been a little rebellious lately. Shall we whip them into shape?" he chuckled. It was true, though. A little group in the third was getting a little rambunctious, too much for Fin's liking.

One ticket? Cheyenne quickly turned her head at Fin as she raised her eyebrows him before she turned to protest to the server, only to see they had walked away. This was something completely different for Cheyenne. She was used to covering for her own meal or even going Dutch. This whole one ticket thing was something quite brand new to her, but she knew that Fin was doing it because he was just a nice guy. Plus they were Co-Praetors and it was okay if one of them wanted to foot the bill. It didn’t mean anything more, right?

She turned back to Fin and nodded her head at him in thanks as he asked about their order of business. The Third Cohort. Right. Cheyenne couldn’t help but roll her eyes at that. “I swear they’re in all sorts of trouble every other week. They’d shape up if I forced them to practice karate with me. Speaking of which…” Cheyenne folded her arms and rested them on the table as she leaned in towards Fin and cocked an eyebrow at him. “You should come practice with me sometimes. I might even take it easy on you.”

Karate was brought up, of course. It was one of her specialties, and his actually. His mother was a karate instructor, but Fin didn't practice nearly as hard as Chey did. He chuckled, "you would have to, I'm not nearly as skilled as I once was... hence why I should practice," he chuckled again, nodding and then looking back into her eyes. "I'd love to. Then maybe, in the distant future, I'd have to take it easy on you," he said, the laughter clear in his eyes.

"But really, you should make them train with you. That would really whip them into shape," he agreed, brining it back to the discussion of the third.
