Oooooh a mission! A mission of fun! Oh yes, Vega liked this idea a lot. "Keep big lady P out of legion sight and give her the time of her life? Oh yeah, I think that thats a mission I'd gladly accept on behalf of Rome." Vega said with a big smirk, following the girls deeper into the crowd. For whatever reason she didn't care. Vega liked to have fun, and while parties were fun sometimes, she did like the challenge thrown in. Get the Praetor loose and having fun? Of yes, this was a challenge. 

She looked at the other girl Jen. She had seen her around at these parties every now and then and smirked at the girl "What do you say, got it in you?"

Jen followed Chey's gaze to the front of the party and found the reason for her concern in the form of Praetor Finley. "All the lively ones out tonight.” She said more to herself than any of the other girls present but she could understand Chey's concern. Party poopers were a major drag and personally Jen didn't have time for any of them tonight. If they needed to play hide the Praetor to keep the party going then Jen would do what needed to be done.

Jen laughed at the girls' offered idea of a mission. Now here was some glory and honor that she could get behind. "A soldier's work is never done!" She said as she grabbed another cup from a distracted party goer. "Stick with us oh brave commander of cohorts and we will have you enjoying yourself before too long. Come ladies. I see some lonely Romans in need of company." Grinning and taking a sip of her new drink she made her way forward into the crowd heading towards a group of boys that seemed to be in need of four beautiful companions.

Dance a little deeper into the crowd? Cheyenne couldn't help but mentally cringe at that thought, but it was only a slight mental cringe. She couldn't bring herself to completely cringe, especially since she was feeling loose. She had to be buzzed. That was the only thing that could describe this odd... buzzing, tingling feeling that was going through her. And bubbly. Very bubbly. She giggled as the girls around her decided this was a mission of sorts to make sure she had fun and loosened up. She shook her head as she couldn't control her giggles. "Guys, the fate of New Rome isn't in... isn't in..." She giggled as she shook her head. What was she saying again?

Cheyenne really didn't know, but she did stop giggling enough to sip on her drink some more. She didn't fully realize that she was halfway done with her cup. Walking was getting a little harder, but she managed to catch up with Mac and lean up against her. "So are all parties like this?" she asked as she waved at the cute boys near them.

Mac was blessed to have Jen and Vega to assist her in this mission, especially since Jen helped her pull Chey deeper into the crowd toward a group of good looking boys. She smiled as the girls dragged Chey away, but hung back slightly, clasping Vegas hand breifly to stop her. "Keep her occupied for a bit. I have to handle something," she said in a low voice before releasing the girl and giving the trio one last wave before slipping backward, making her way towards Finn the party crasher... she had to handle him first to assure that he wasn't going to ruin tonight.

Mac pulled Vega aside and gave her the mission in the form of words and smiled at the blond girl. “Occupied is something I can handle” she said, patting the girl on the shoulder “Go take care of any issues we have.” She said before turning back to Cheyenne and smirking, wrapping a arm around her as she went to talk to Mac. “Besides I’ve got the queen” she said before pulling her back towards the other girl.



“Not all parties. Some are lamer, some are cooler. Some have wayyy cuter boys than them” She said waving them off “They are a good beginning round. You start with them, let others see you with them. Play the nieveness of boys and let them think they are actually getting anywhere.” She said, noticing how the girl was slowly making her way to fun town. She smiled and spun the drunken girl before getting her to dance again “and then you dumb them for someone more fun!” She said with a giggle and returning to dancing. “You come to parties to have fun not to hook up with gross boys.”

Jen wasn’t sure what Mac and Vega were talking about when they both stepped aside. She didn’t much care either. Jen would fuck a fawn before she would be accused of needing anyone else to have a good time. Still, she wasn’t one to waste an opportunity to help the boss lady have a little fun so she waited for Vega to return as Mac ran off to do who knew what. Fortunately it was just in time as the boss lady was getting a little antsy with some questions.

Joining right in with Vega to answer Chey’s question Jen added a little to the other girl’s explanation. “But ‘playing’ with the boys is always one of the most fun parts annnnnnnnnnnd you, miss praetor, sound like you are about ready to do just that.” Grinning she gave the boys a little wink and then joined the other girls in their dancing. “A few more sips of liquid courage and I don’t think you’ll have any problem at all loosening up a bit. What do you think Cheyenne? Would you be up for leading a few boy toys on?”

Cheyenne knitted her eyebrows together as Mac had to leave them for.... something. She didn't quite catch what she was doing and she didn't get an explanation before Mac was gone and Vega took her place. "I'm not the queen," she said with a bit of a shrug as she finished off the last of her drink. She looked down into her cup and pouted a bit before she tossed the cup over her shoulder. She was feeling really good and really loose at the moment. Like everything she had in her mind about the state of the legion? Completely gone. But now she only had to worry about dancing and leading boy toys on? As long as those boys weren't Fin, she was possibly okay with it.

She nodded her head before she strutted her way over to the group of cute boys as she swung her hips a bit. It was an over-exaggerated catwalk, but she couldn't bring herself to do the normal one at this rate. "Oh hey boys," she said as she approached them and winked at one of them.

Mac could tell she had left Chey in good hands as she went to find out what the heck Finn was doing there… after a moment of brief interrogation she successfully managed to sway Finn away from knowing that Cheyenne was here… for now.


She took her time getting back to the ladies, knowing that Finn was probably following her. She snuck back toward the girls who seemed to have succeeded in getting Cheyenne to do a bit of flirting. Mac smiled at Vega and Jen and gave them a wink. ”Nice work, ladies. If there’s anything that can loosen her up…” she chuckled and didn’t finish the thought.

Fin wasn't stupid.

He knew that Mac was hiding something from him. So, he pretended to take her fake lead but really just turned around and subtly followed her back to where she was headed. It seemed innocent enough, at first. She was just hanging out with a group of fr- oh no. His heart jumped into his throat at the sight of Cheyenne and the state she was in.

It could have been worse, way worse, but still. She was clearly drunk and was... flirting with random guys? That wasn't like her, at least he didn't think it was. He wasn't on board with alcohol in any capacity and Chey being involved made that disgust with this party come out even more.

He faced a choice then. Let her have fun and possibly get hurt or march over there and take her home.

It was a pretty easy choice.

He was at her side in seconds, ignoring the protests coming from an approaching Mac. She gently tapped Chey's shoulder. "Hey there," he said, trying to remain calm. The guy she was talking to seemed to think Fin wasn't someone he wanted to get between and backed away. Smart move.

[Cheyenne Achilles]

Cheyenne was just making small talk with these boy toys, nothing really major. Small talk with some flirting thrown in. No harm, no foul, right? She did notice they started to act weird and backed away just as she felt a tap on her shoulder. It was probably that damn Augur of theirs interrupting this exact moment to bother her yet with another vision of his. She turned around and was about to give him a piece of her mind, when she saw it wasn't the Augur at all.

"Finny!" Cheyenne squealed as she flung her arms around him into a hug. However, she managed to throw her balance off with all the alcohol in her system and used him a bit as a support as he leaned up on him. She smiled widely as she looked up at him. "What are you doing here?" she asked as she raised her eyebrows at him and then looked over at Mac. "Did she kidnap you too?"

Mac saw Finley coming and new that she was too late. She pushed through the people around her, trying to get back to Cheyenne before he got there, but it was a waste of time. She saw the look in his eyes; the anger, the worry, the frustration. She felt her stomach drop. She was totally busted.

She appeared right beside them as Cheyenne looked to her, asking Fin if she'd kidnapped him as well. Mac gave Fin a little wave, "Finley, I thought that you were going to check out the upstairs? The antics up there are far worse than those down here," she said, folding her arms over her chest and tilting just slightly to stand in front of Cheyenne partially.

Finny Okay, now he was really starting to panic. What had Mac given her!? He turned to Mac as Chey pointed her out, fire in his eyes. He could see the way Mac stepped in front of Chey, as if she was getting protective over her. He felt a growl bubbling up in his throat, but he didn't let it out. "Oh, I can assure you things are a lot worse down here," he started before leaning in toward Mac, "or they will be if you don't get out of the way," he didn't like talking that way but his was a bit blinded right now. He turned back toward Cheyenne, gently placing a hand on her arm. "Chey, are you feeling okay?" he asked, even though he knew he coudln't trust her answer.

Jen had been getting to know the guy beside her and was barely even paying attention to praetor Cheyenne when she noticed the subtle change in the atmosphere. Jen was a fairly accomplished party goer in her own right and it didn’t take her lucky sixth sense to know what a sudden sucking of life from the room meant. This party was about to go south and it was headed there quick. “Well boys I think that’s my que.” She said softly to her companions as she realized that praetor part two had suddenly shown up and wasn’t too happy.

Yeeeeeeah Jen wasn’t about that life at all and she knew she could continue her own party elsewhere. While the important folks where distracted Jen slipped back into the crowd planning to make a quiet and unceremonious exit. She could be quiet when the situation called for it and she was sure with the party about to go downhill they wouldn’t miss a few bottles of booze as she made her way out. All in a day's work.

Mac managed to wedge herself slightly between her and Fin, but why? She liked Fin and it was kinda cool that he was here, even if he managed to scare a guy away, but that was okay. Finny was here and she liked him and probably more than liked him if she ever got around to admitting it. She was completely oblivious to the tension between her best friend and her co-Praetor. She was just glancing between them like there was a punchline she was somehow missing.

But then she felt Fin's hand on her arm as she looked down at it before looking on up at him. Was she okay? Cheyenne couldn't help but giggle a bit as she nodded her head. "I'm feeling fine," she reassured Fin. "The music is a little too loud here, but I'm fine."

Mac glared at Fin as he encroached on her space, making it clear that he was not even a tiny bit amused by all this. She heard the threat, knowing that it didn't come from a place of hate but quite the opposite.

Maybe Chey was going to get some romantic attention tonight after all.

The thought of Fin revealing himself so obviously in his feelings for Cheyenne caused Mac to take a step back, a wicked smirk on her face. "Fine, but if you expect me to keep quiet about this" she gestured to the spot where Fin was touching Cheyennes arm, "you're not very bright." She laughed then, turning toward Cheyenne with a large smile on her face. "You should spend some time with Finny, he wants to be with you," she turned toward Fin, blew him a kiss, and backed away slowly...
