Forbidden Fruits | Lydia

Genie practically beamed as Lydia accepted her invitation. She wasn’t sure how much quieter the forges would be compared to a Dionysus party but so long as she was getting to see Lydia she wouldn’t complain. Maybe she could even obtain a few more strawberries by Friday too because if there was one thing that would make a night in the forge with a cute girl a little better it was having a good snack to enjoy on the side.

“That sounds perfect.” The Hephaestus girl said excitedly. “And yeah you’re probably right. It’s pretty hard to resist a perfectly made machine. I’ll just have to make sure I do my best. If you’re lucky I might even have a few things ready to show off to you when you come over. Who knows, maybe you’ll like shiny things too.” Genie chuckled and popped another berry in her mouth before continuing. “So it’s settled then? I’ll be really looking forward to the weekend if that’s the case.”

Lydia smiled as Genie seemed to get excited over their plans. Secretly, Lydia was excited about it too, but she had to keep some level of professionalism right now. After all, she was dealing with a strawberry thief, even though she was working on reforming her with shiny machines and probably along with other things as well. "I never said I didn't like shiny things," Lydia chuckled as she looked at Genie. "But I'm definitely interested to see what other machines you have whipped up. But it's settled. I'll see you this Friday in the forges."

Lydia looked out towards the amphitheater as her smile faded slightly. "I should probably go back and report to my siblings and Chiron. Tell them I don't know who the thief is and that they were too quick for me to identify them." She looked back over at Genie as she threw her a quick wink.

It looked like their evening might be coming to an end and sure enough it wasn’t long before Lydia was saying that she needed to go. Before she did however Genie didn’t miss that fact that she promised to keep the Hephaestus girl’s identity a secret. That was good because it meant that Genie wouldn’t be getting in trouble just like she had thought from the beginning. Maybe taking a few berries like she had was wrong but you would never catch her apologizing since it led to her and Lydia meeting. What could be wrong about that?

“Alright Lydia. I’ll see you Friday and if you catch that wicked strawberry bandit be sure not to be too hard on her. I’ve heard they are awfully nice once you get to know them.” Genie watched after the girl and even caught the little wink that Lydia threw back at her as she left. Was there more to that wink than just the conspiracy that they just shared? Genie didn’t know but she was pretty excited to find out what Friday brought.
