[Viv Jennings]

"Don't put yourself down," Viv said with a bit of a smirk. "There would have to be something to show off if Zeke is going through all the trouble of bringing your body to me." She gave him a once over as her smirk grew a little bit bigger. "You just might not know it yet." Being withe Drew and having him take all of her murderous jokes definitely beat hanging around her idiotic siblings. And like he said, the company was fine even if the view supposedly sucked. She'd just let himself believe that one.

"It helps keep a lot of people in line," Viv said with a little bit of a chuckle. "I either blackmail them or sic my cat on them. And I'm pretty sure that Chiron doesn't mind a few less campers running around, because more than likely they're giving him problems as well. So it's a bit of a symbiotic relationship in that regard. And it keeps Zeke happy too, so it's a win-win situation all around."

"Oh? I guess I'll just have to keep my eyes open until I find out what it is." Drew didn't know what Viv was hinting at with that comment but he didn't really have a bad opinion of himself. He didn't have enough time to put that much stock in what others thought about him but he was a little curious nonetheless. "Unless you decide to clue me in on it that is. It would certainly make things easier in the long run. Otherwise I'll have to ask Zeke myself when I meet him."

He chuckled at the thought of Chiron being in on her little conspiracy of taking out campers. If that was the case at least things would be a little more interesting around camp. It was too bad that things couldn't be that simple. "Well I imagine most of them deserve it anyways. Maybe you'll decide to keep me around for a little while if I promise to play nice. It's not a promise I give lightly I can tell you that."

"Clue you in?" Viv asked as her smirk grew a little bit wider as she decided to lean back and rest on her elbows. She looked over at Drew as she kept her face completely calm and serious. "I'll give you a hint," she said. "You can just look in the mirror and it's there. Zeke might disagree. He might think your toes are fun to pounce on or whatever logic cats come up with. I think I know him, but he surprises me sometimes."

She glanced out towards the water for a moment before she looked back at Drew. "You promise to place nice?" she said as she gave a short, light laugh. "That might be a good enough reason to keep you around. A lot of the guys I know don't like playing nice at all. So maybe you'll be spared from Zeke's wrath... for now."

Drew was a little surprised when she told him to look in the mirror. If he didn’t know any better he would have thought Viv was outright flirting with him. Of course that didn’t sound like something this particular queen of darkness would do but he guessed he could be surprised. Still, that meant he would have to be especially careful going forward not to lead her on. He liked Viv and maybe if he hadn’t been dying things could be different but no, it was better for both of them to keep things casual. “This old thing?” He said as he rubbed a hand through the light stubble of his face. "I've got to say I'm starting to wonder if Zeke might be the better judge of character if he’s the one going to the toes."

He could see where this was going now and it wasn't good. He was playing right into that cute little mystery girl routine she was doing and it was throwing him off his game. He had gotten comfortable because she was easy to talk to and now he thought maybe they were both headed down a pretty dangerous road that could lead to nothing good. He had to change this before it was too late. "Oh don't worry I'm just like the rest of them. I just know how to play it off better. I'm sure Zeke will have done with me before too long.”

"But toes are weird," Viv quickly pointed out with a bit of a smirk. "Like they're stubby mini-fingers. Maybe that's why Zeke likes them. From that, I don't know if he would be the best judge of character either. Faces are kind of less weird, but who am I to judge?" She shrugged a bit to act like it was no big deal. Cats were weird with their habits and Zeke was no exception. And him picking the toes was one of those weird things cats did.

"Well damn," Viv said as she snapped her fingers as she looked out onto the ocean. "I thought you were too good to be true. A moody, mysterious guy on a beach who seemed nice." She gave a dramatic sigh as she shook her head. "Too bad that Zeke will probably have to off you too. And to think I thought we were getting along. Such a shame."

Drew huffed a throaty chuckle at her description of him. Moody and mysterious she called him and maybe she was into that sort of thing, some girls were he knew, but unfortunately for both of them that wasn’t the hand Drew had been dealt in life. Perhaps if things had been different then they could have been friends, maybe even more, but not when his life literally hung by a thread. It was easier for both of them this way even if he couldn’t quite explain it to her.

“Well there’s your problem. I’m definitely not a nice guy. Sorry to disappoint.” He tore his gaze away from her and leaned over to look at the waves again. He felt a little bad having to shut down on her like this as he did think that they had been getting along pretty well and had been enjoying himself but maybe knowing that he wasn’t one of the good guys would help her realize that he was someone she should stay away from. “In fact, it’s probably smart to go ahead and send Zeke after me right now. It would save you some time in the long run.”

Viv was totally willing to play along with his bad boy persona he supposedly had, but the conversation seemed to turn a complete one-eighty. They were getting along just fine and then he just seemed to completely shut her out and down. She completely turned to face him as she raised her eyebrows at him. "I'm sorry," she said as she tilted her head to the side. "Have I managed to offend you in some way? I mean I've showered and we were getting along just a moment ago, so I don't know what your problem is."

And she rolled her eyes as she turned to look away from him as he talked about her sending Zeke after him. "I know what your problem is. You have a death wish. Well, worry no further, because I'm pretty sure that Zeke would have no problems taking care of you. So wish granted."

She was getting angry. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out she was starting to pick up on his coldness. He didn’t like it but it had to be done. Viv would never know how much he really did enjoy their conversation or that he thought she was alright but she deserved better than he could offer and if it took her hating him to make that happen he was willing to let her. Maybe he could explain on the other side of Hades someday. She was one of his daughters after all.

He was about to speak up and finish things but then she said something that cut him deeper than she probably even knew. You have a death wish. A wish? More like a sentence and even though there was no way she could have known how close to the mark she came to the truth the statement did hit a nerve with Drew. “You don’t know the first thing about me.” He said harshly. “I’m just some random guy you met on the beach and yet you think you’ve got me figured out. Well Miss Queen of Darkness I’m here to tell you don’t know anything about what darkness really is. You think I’ve got a death wish?” He gave a harsh chuckle. “If only.”

Drew stood up to walk away. He was through with this girl and her presumptions. He hadn’t even wanted company tonight anyways. “Maybe you should let your cat handle the social interaction from now on. At least cats are supposed to be aloof and uncaring.” With that he turned from her and began storming off down the beach in an even worse mood than before and kicking himself for letting things go too far.

Oh great. He was getting mad at her because he was being a jerk towards her. Viv wouldn't have been surprised, but she completely was. She immediately glared at him as he went off at him. She didn't know what darkness really was? Oh he really didn't know. He only knew what he thought the darkness was while Viv got to experience it firsthand. An experience that she didn't want to relive again. "Oh trust me," she spat back at him. "I really know what the darkness is, but, according to you, I don't know." She huffed as she faced towards the ocean. She was royally pissed at the moment and she was about ready to storm out on him, but he was already taking that liberty himself.

She rolled her eyes as he said that Zeke should handle all social interactions for her. He was so wrong. So wrong. "You know cats kill for fun?" she called out to him, but she was done with it. She was over it. She picked herself from the sand and brushed herself off before she stormed off back to her cabin. She'd rather deal with her idiotic siblings then that jerk of a boy.
