[Lydia Shepard]

Lydia thought for a moment before she got up to grab her sibling's laptop. "I like rom-coms," she said as she nodded to herself. She wasn't a big movie person herself, but she always found herself liking the romantic comedies. And Genie liked comedies, so it looked like they had a good choice of what genre to pick. She grabbed the laptop and brought it over as she sat down besides Genie.

But at the moment of popcorn, a light in Lydia's head went off. "I don't have popcorn," she said as she went over to her dresser and pulled out a few bags. "But I do have chocolate and the good kind too. This is the kind my siblings aren't allowed to touch. Ever. But for you," she said as she throw a wink at Genie, "I think I'll make an exception."

"A rom-com sounds nice." Genie confirmed as Lydia brought over her laptop. Those were usually just as good as comedies and they had the bonus of having some mushy gushy stuff too which Genie secretly liked as well so long as they had a happy ending. Some romantic movies were sad and just there to make you cry and that was no fun. Fortunately she didn't think that would be a problem this time.

Genie had just begun flipping through the movies on the laptop when Lydia had the idea about the chocolate. She glanced up to watch the girl go over to her dresser and pull out a few bags of what she called the "good kind". Genie took a look at them as Lydia brought them over and smiled."Wow talk about special. I didn't know you liked me that much." Taking a bag genie popped a chocolate into her mouth and let out a little sigh of delight. "You're right though. This is the good stuff. Now all we need is a great movie and we'll be all set."

Once the chocolate was in hand, Lydia walked back to Genie before she plopped down right beside her. “Just the people I really like,” she said as she opened the bag and offered it to Genie. “And I happen to like you a lot.” She giggled a bit before she turned her attention to the screen to see that Genie was scrolling through the site.

“Have you found one yet?” she asked as she skimmed the site before pointing at a movie. “I like this one,” she said as she looked over at Genie and smiled a bit. “Is that okay with you?”

The chocolate was only shared with people Lydia really liked and Genie was glad she found herself in that category even if it hadn't given her access to some of the best chocolate she had in a while. "Do you always invite the folks you really like over for movies and games?" She said with a smirk. All things considered she thought she really liked Lydia too. What did that mean? Well Genie wasn't so sure on that but she did like getting to know the girl and didn't think she would mind getting to know her even better.

"That one looks good." Genie said as she read the title. It looked like a pretty sappy one but Genie could dig it. "I told you I wasn't too hard to please." She rolled over so that she could get a little closer to Lydia. They would need to be close to watch the movie on the laptop screen or at least that's what she told herself. In any case that excuse worked about as well as any other she could come up with. She snuggled in trying not to be a creeper but getting as comfy as she could just the same. "This is going to be an awesome movie night.”

"Nah," Lydia said with a giggle as she shook her head. "Only the really cute ones like you get this honor." And it was true. Lydia did like a lot of people around camp, but she never really invited anyone back to her cabin for board games and movies. But Genie was proving to be something special and Lydia was completely okay taking her dear sweet time with it. She settled in next to Genie as she smiled a bit that her movie selection was good by her.

"It really is," she said as she started the movie and she snuggled close to Genie. It was a little close and she didn't know if things were going to be awkward or not, but she knew she liked being this close. Did that really mean anything? She didn't know, but she knew it was going to be a struggle to keep her eyes on only the movie the entire time.

Genie grinned. She liked that Lydia thought she was cute. That wasn’t usually a word that she heard a lot covered in grease and soot as she usually was. Luckily Lydia saw through all of that or at least seemed to. It gave Genie little flutters in her stomach that she liked and whenever the Dionysus girl was around those flutters seemed to come pretty often. Right now as Lydia snuggled in beside her those flutters were pretty stirred up and Genie was absolutely loving it.

"Yeah I don't think I've ever seen this one before. It looks good though so hopefully we'll like it." Resting her head gently on Lydia’s as the movie started Genie settled in for some fun and if her eyes kept drifting to the cute girl beside her so that she wasn’t paying much attention well that was okay. It was still a nice movie either way but Lydia was the real reason she was here. Eventually, without making a big deal about it, Genie’s hand may have found its ways to Lydia’s and rested against it. Lydia could take the hand if she wanted but Genie left that part up to her. After all she still wasn’t sure how far Lydia wanted to take this if anywhere at all.

“It’s a good movie,” Lydia tried to reassure Genie with a smile. “I think you’d like it. It’s definitely one of my personal favorites.” Her favorite movie, good chocolate, and great company made it that it would be a very good evening for Lydia, but she found it a little bit distracting at the same time. She had seen the movie a good dozen times and she liked watching it, but she found her eyes drifting from the screen onto Genie who rested her head against hers. Lydia always turned her eyes back to the screen before Genie had a chance to catch her. If she did get caught, Lydia didn’t really knew what would happen. Maybe a little bit of awkwardness? She didn’t know.

But she did know that her heart raced as Genie rested her hand next to hers. It was so close to hers and it was so easy to grab it at that moment, but at the same time, it was intimidating as well. How was she going to deal with it? She focused on the screen as her mind raced with the possibilities. What was she going to do with Genie’s hand? She finally took a deep breath as she slipped her hand underneath Genie’s and intertwined their fingers. Her hands were so soft that it almost made Lydia a bit giddy. Here she was holding hands with Genie as they watched a movie. How more perfect could this get?

Yeah maybe she was overreacting just a bit but Genie couldn't help but grin like a loon when Lydia took her hand. The Dionysus girl had hands that were soft and warm and probably a lot different than her own which were worker hands. That the other girl didn't seem to mind was definitely a good thing. Genie kept smiling and let her fingers relax gently into Lydia's hold making sure to give it a happy little squeeze as she turned her attention back to laugh at a particularly funny part of the movie.

Holding hands was a fairly simple gesture but it did help with the nerves just a bit. With renewed confidence Genie snuggled in a little closer to watch the movie. It was a good one after all and if Lydia considered it a favorite then Genie wanted to make sure she got all of it that she could. In the meantime she enjoyed having Lydia beside her and enjoyed the good chocolate reaching over her every so often to grab a bite and sneak a look at Lydia while she did so. It was hard to pay attention but she tried her best and just to let Lydia know she was having a good time she leaned over and whispered, "You have really good taste in movies. Chocolate too. Maybe dates too? I know at least one who would agree."

Genie didn't reject her simple gesture of holding hands and that made Lydia very giddy. She had a hard time containing herself during the movie as Genie cuddled up closer and took more of her good chocolate. Lydia barely could pay attention as she was mainly looking at her date mate. She was cute and her hair smelled good even if they were just in the forges earlier. She was so caught up in watching her that she almost jumped when she heard Genie whispering to her.

She took a couple of deep to calm herself before she smiled at Genie. "I would like to think I have a good taste in dates as well," she said as she nudged her a bit. "We'll just have to see one of these days."

Genie smiled as Lydia whispered back to her. She certainly hoped that this wouldn't be the last date they went on together and by the look of things it seemed like they wouldn't have any trouble there. Hanging out with Lydia was nice and snuggling with Lydia while they watched a movie was nice too. If there was more of both of those in the future Genie thought she would be very content with that but Lydia was right, they would just have to see.

A little yawn escaped Genie's lips as she found herself getting perhaps a little too comfy snuggled up with the pretty Dionysus girl. The movie was good but Lydia was warm and soft and after spending all day working in the forge it was very comforting to be close to someone. “Well hopefully this won’t be our last movie night either.” Genie smiled as she reached across Lydia for another bite of chocolate hoping the sweets would keep her awake. “I’ve had a lot of fun tonight and I can’t really complain where we ended up either.”

Lydia smirked a bit to herself as she noticed Genie's yawn. It was cute. Everything was cute about her, but it was also signalling that their date night or whatever this was had to come to an end soon. Besides, she didn't know how her siblings would feel if they randomly had an impromptu sleepover. But that might be one thing they would have to deal with as well. But for right now, Lydia was enjoying this company far too much to have their night end.

"I doubt this will be our last one," Lydia said as she watched Genie grab for another piece of her good chocolate. "And I share those sentiments exactly... but it's probably not a good idea to keep you up if you're starting to feel sleepy."

The chocolate was good but Genie could tell she was fighting a battle that she would eventually lose. It was a shame really. She wanted to stay awake and keep enjoying her time with Lydia but all good things come to an end eventually even if you don't want them too. At least both of them had fun tonight and Genie didn't think this would be the last she would be seeing of the pretty Dionysus girl. Not if she had anything to say about it anyways.

"I guess you're right." Genie said trying not to sound too disappointed. "I had a lot of fun tonight Lydia and I uh...really like hanging out with you." The Hephaestus girl bit her lip nervously. She hoped she wasn't being too presumptuous but she did want to see the girl again even if it was just around camp. "If you want maybe we could hang out again sometime. If you're free tomorrow we could, I don't know, get a bite to eat or something."

It was a shame for the night to end almost too quickly. But everything had to come to an end. Besides, she didn't have Genie accidently crashing here and then being made fun of her siblings. Lydia could never tell when they were going to be jerks and she didn't want to subject Genie to that all.

But she wanted to see her again? Possibly tomorrow? Lydia thought quickly as she decided nothing on the schedule needed her urgent attention. She giggled a bit as she nodded her head. “We can do lunch or dinner. I can meet you at your cabin? But you need to go and sleep, Genie.”

"Those do all sound like really good ideas." Genie said thoughtfully. Getting another opportunity to hang out with Lydia would be great and Genie couldn't really complain since they were planning on meeting up tomorrow. That wasn’t so bad and it would just give her something to look forward to throughout the day. Granted getting her work done might be a little difficult but for the most part the Hephaestus girl was happy with this arrangement.

Letting out another yawn Genie rolled away from Lydia and stretched. "You're probably right. You are the psychologist after all." Giving Lydia a lazy smile as she woke up her sleepy bones Genie thought about how they were going to end things. It was all well and good to say good night, see ya in the morning and just leave but she also thought things went a little better than that. She really liked Lydia and thought Lydia liked her too but she didn't know what was appropriate in this situation. That said they had just been snuggled up really close and holding hands and looking at the Dionysus girl now she was finding it very hard to leave.

It was a big decision but Genie made it. She closed the gap between them and in the blink of an eye she pressed her lips to Lydia's in a quick kiss. It wasn't anything fancy and it was hardly some fairy tale first kiss out of a story book but it was done and there was no turning back now. Genie pulled away a moment later smiling and looking a little flushed with embarrassment. She didn't want to spend too much time worrying if it was good enough or anything like that so without even giving Lydia a chance to respond she hopped up. "Night Lydia. I hope you sleep well and I'll see you tomorrow." With that she hurried out not looking back.
