Danielle was quite lucky that she hadn't broken anything while figure skating and she didn't want to be sidelined because of another sport. But she oddly trusted Tawny, even if she almost was ran over with a skateboard. But the way she was able to handle herself last minute, maybe things wouldn't be so bad after all. "I guess I can give it a shot," she said with a bit of a shrug. "I guess I need to try out my creation after all that effort into it."
She followed Tawny towards a table before she sat down and started digging into the salad she had ordered. She chuckled as she shook her head. "Nah, Drake doesn't do the figure skating thing. He's into curling, which is a weird sport in itself." She looked up at Tawny as she raised an eyebrow at her. "Have you heard of it? It involves rocks and brooms. It's quite weird, but he enjoys it enough."

A single Axel was easy to master. A double Axel took a little bit of time, but that was mastered as well. But this Triple Axel? It was one of the hardest jumps in figure skating and Danielle was determined to mastered it. She knew the stats. A few women had completely mastered the jump and fewer attempted it routinely in their programs. But Danielle was bound and determined to be one of the few who did both. And it was hard. Her couch wouldn't allow her to add it to her program quite yet, so once her practice was over, she practiced it back to back.
Doing the Triple Axel itself wasn't that hard. Danielle mastered that part very well, it was the landing she was having difficulty with. She had to land on her opposite foot than what she started with, but always seemed to end on the wrong foot or at least have a shaky landing. Nothing that passed her standards at all. Her jumps were a mixture of wrong landings and shaky landing and she was about to attempt another jump when she heard her brother's voice. That shook her concentration enough that she pushed off wrong, did only a single axel, and landed on her rear with her feet sprawled out in front of her.
She pouted for a moment as she sat there and shifted a bit in her spot. Her tailbone wasn't broken or at least bruised, so she survived that fall just fine, but as for her brother... She turned to glare at him as she moved to get onto her feet again. "I think the natives can suck it up for a few more minutes," she said once she was on her feet and skated over to her brother as she stuck her tongue out at him.

"I haven't tried snowboarding," Danielle said as she shook her head and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her her. "I've mostly stuck with figure skating... plus I'm a little afraid of breaking something... and this is coming from the girl who has to balance on one foot on a blade." She laughed to herself before she said, "But I'll give it a shot once I get it made for you. I just can't promise that I'll be any good at it."
Danielle waited a moment or two before she grabbed her food and turned back to Tawny as she shrugged. "It's really nothing too crazy," she said with a bit of a smirk. "But we can, like, finish each other's sentences and we always know what the other is thinking. I guess really normal stuff people expect out of twins. It's not like we're the Wonder Twins and transform into anything cool."

“Yeah,” Danielle said with a bit of a smile. “I have ice powers, it’s one of the perks of daughter of Chione.” But she wondered if Drake would be down for the idea or if she'd have to drag him in there. She knew he didn't like going into the ice rink unless he had to. But she thought this was a pretty noble reason. Besides, Tawny seemed pretty cool. “Then I think we can make you a half pipe,” she did with a bit of a chuckle when Tawny mentioned how she grew up.
But she ordered her food before she chuckled and turned back to Tawny. “And finding someone who gets you is very rare in the legion. Trust me, I would know. I think my brother gets me, but he's also my twin, so he's kind of required with that whole twin connection thing.”

"I do practice in there quite a bit." Danielle went towards the cafe/restaurant place before she paused. "Ice down a half pipe?" Danielle asked as she looked over at Tawny as she thought about it for a moment. "It really shouldn't be too hard, really. I mean, I never have used my powers that way before, so I don't know how complicated it might be, but I could probably wrangle my brother into it as well..." She shrugged after a moment. "It really shouldn't be that hard, honestly. I don't know why they haven't done one yet, since that rink is supposedly to be all things you'd find in the Winter Olympics." She laughed a bit as she shook her head. "And I'm rambling. I guess you found like the one thing that I can't shut up about." She opened the door and allowed Tawny to go in first. "After you."

Danielle raised her eyebrows when the girl said it was a long story. She hoped that sleep skateboarding was a very long story and, hopefully, a slightly less dangerous one. But she had proven that she could hold her own, which was a good thing, otherwise, they would have both ended up in the Sick Bay. But she thought Danielle had fancy footwork and that made her smile a bit. She nodded her head slightly as she reached up to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear.
"I try to be," she said with a slight smirk. "I do figure skating so I have to be pretty quick to do all those jumps and turns and stuff." But she didn't want to start bragging right away, especially since she barely knew this girl. But the girl had a name and it was Tawny. "Well, it's nice to meet you," she said before she nodded her head to the cafe they were standing in front of. "Do you want to grab something with me? I don't know about you, but near-death experiences make me hungry."

Danielle just stood there as she watched the girl gain much better control of her skateboard and spun back around to face her. She paused her ipod and took the other earbud out. There was no way she was going to work on her mental practicing. And the girl didn't look like she was hurt and she did confirm that verbally. But there was one thing that Danielle really didn't quite get.
"Sleep skating?" she asked as she raised her eyebrows before tucking her ipod into her bag and shaking her head. "Nah, you didn't get me. I'm pretty quick on my feet and you can handle your board pretty well." She looked up from her bag before she smiled at the girl. "I don't think I've seen you around camp before. I'm Danielle."

Danielle just finished another practice at the ice skating rink. She was frustrated with herself since she couldn't polish up her moves just right. Her couch said she was doing an excellent job and she was up there with the professionals. However, Danielle couldn't settle for excellent. She wanted perfection. However, she couldn't stay at the rink forever. Her couch kicked her out so she didn't risk hurting herself. Disgruntled, she packed up her stuff and headed out.
Even though she couldn't practice physically, Danielle could still practice mentally. She pulled her ipod out of her bag and stuck her earbuds into her ear. She turned it on to the song she was doing her routine to. It was a soft, classical song, but Danielle loved it. Once she was ready she started walking back to camp. She really wasn't paying attention much as she walked. In her head, her moves were perfect, but she knew she wasn't perfect. Yet.
Just as she rounded the corner, she looked down at her ipod to restart the song when she heard screaming. Her head bolted up to see a girl on a skateboard barreling straight towards her. Danielle jumped to the side as the girl managed to avoid the collision. She paused her song as she pulled an earbud out. “Are you okay?” she asked as she felt her heart beating in her head.

Train Hard. Party Harder. is Danielle's life motto. She is dedicated to training and becoming the best version of herself, especially on the ice. It's gotten to the point where she's a little bit conceited and vain about her talents, but not to the point where people can't stand to be around her. Outside of the rink, she's quite a friendly girl and gets along with most people. However, she does have a secret wild and crazy side to her. She loves being at parties and being the center of attention. She's definitely one of those girls who is on the top of the table dancing.
Secretly, Danielle wants to leave Camp Jupiter and New Rome so she could pursue ice skating professionally. However, she doesn't want to leave her friends that she has made in New Rome and she has a feeling her brother and her parents would miss her as well. She's conflicted about her dreams, but she knows that she'll only be in her ice skating prime for so long. She wants to create a demigod-only Olympics so she can still compete, but keep her parents happy as well.

New Rome is the only life that Danielle has ever known. Her and her brother grew up in a pretty strict household: bedtimes, sweets, the whole nine yards. Both of their parents served in the legion before them and discipline was something that they brought into their household. Danielle always knew that her and her brother were children of Chione and they were forced to practice and train before their powers came into fruition. And since they were children of a cold-weathered goddess, they were enrolled in classes at the local ice skating rink. That's when Danielle fell in love with the art of figure skating.
And not only was she passionate about it, but she was pretty good at it too. It might have been because of her godly mother, but Danielle was a natural on the ice. She was testing out of her classes faster than anyone else and it was hard to find a teacher that was competent to teach Danielle. She started having dreams and goals of going to the Olympics and winning a gold medal. However, once she told her parents about those aspirations, they were quickly shot down. She was going to serve the legion like the good little Roman they had raised her to be.
Danielle and her brother joined the legion when they were twelve and that was the first time that Danielle tasted freedom. She started rebellion in the smallest ways, like staying up past her bedtime or eating an extra sweet. She kept up her training (especially in skating) enough that between that and her letters of recommendation, she was placed in the First Cohort. However, as Danielle got older, her rebellion started becoming more of a problem. She discovered nightlife and the parties around New Rome, which always is a problem come Sunday morning since she would have a mandatory brunch with her family which she always showed up hungover. And trying to keep last night's activities away from your parents has always proven to be a challenge to Danielle and will continue to be as long as she lives in New Rome and serves the Legion and her brother keeps his mouth shut.
