Anya watched as the skater seemed to be very interested in her surroundings, more so than to the person she was talking to. Not that she minded much. If you were going to glide on something you always ought to keep an eye out to your surroundings. "I'm Anastasia. Anya for short." She introduced herself.
"I'm relatively new to New Rome and Camp Jupiter. Been in the 5th Cohort for a few months. No wonder you don't know me. But it's nice to meet you." She said, almost scolding herself mentally after she told Tawny in which Cohort she was. To her it didn't matter, but to those people? Being in the 5th Cohort was somewhat of a disgrace for most Romans. Status seemed to be everything in New Rome. But taking a look at Tawny, Anya was fairly certain that it didn't matter to her either, which was a relief.

Anya shook her head and smiled, hoping to get his nervousness to go away. There was nothing he should be embarraced or nervous about. Everybody had something they loved and got themselves lost into. Even if they never admit it in public or even to themselves. "Don't worry about it Austin." She said and took one earpiece off, extending it to him. "It's nice to talk to you too." She motioned for him to take the earpiece and she would press play to the particular music piece she wanted to make a choreography for as soon as he placed it to his ear.
"I'm a figure-skater. That song is the reason I'm out here." She would say as he listened to the tune. "I want to make a choreography for it. An original one. But I've seen the videoclip and now I can't think of something else that would fit it besides the one the artist performed." She would explain.

Anya smiled a little and nodded. "Yes."She hummed softly as she took in the details of the painting, wondering how long it had taken him and how was he able to paint with the dim light. However before she could ask him, he painted himself without even noticing it. She tried to hide her laughter by looking down and ended up giggling instead. She took a deep breath and smiled at him. "Something like that. I came to see the sky and hopefully draw inspiration from it." She told him and moved her hand over her forehead, pointing at the same area Austin had red paint on.

As the song finished, Anya was fixed in a pretty good mood. When someone complimented her, she twirled around to see a girl around her age on a scateboard. "Thanks." She said as she smoothed her hair back into the ponytail she had on everytime she danced. She smiled and shook her head to indicate it was fine if the girl was watching her. She had been in bigger crowds and the audience didn't bother her. She was mostly intimidated by the judges whenever she was in a big competition, but even then it was more of a knot on the stomach and the only way to get rid of it was to just get out there and skate. "No, you're good. I don't mind people watching. I'm used to performing infront of large audiences and I wasn't exactly hiding." She assured the other and went over to slightly lower the music as the track changed to Believer from Imagine Dragons.
True it was a sudden change of style of music but Anya liked to try new things when it came to dancing. Most people used instrunmental music in figure skating, but she wanted to try this particular track in a very demanding choreography. Not that she was going to perform it in an ice ring anytime soon, but she loved skating and that was enough for her.

Anya had wondered off to the lake as the sun was going down. The landscape was beautiful at this particular time of day and she had been trying to work on a new choreography for quite some time now. But she had ran out of ideas. So she had walked from the barracks of the fifth Cohort all the way here with her earbuds on and music blasting off her head. The playlist changed but it always came back to the same track, Arena by Lindsey Stirling. The piece she wanted to make her choreography for. And she had found herself stuck because she had seen the videoclip and the choreography it originally had. She wanted to do something new, but she was not a natural born choreographer. That's why she had set out to watch the sunset, she wanted to draw insiration from it if she could.
But it seemed her own little world was not entirely hers at the moment. Another had beat her to it and had setted up an easel. How could the boy work with such poor lighting was beyond her, but she was curious and she approached him to take a look. The painting was precisely the view she could see right now. She couldn't be blammed for peeking because she had came from behind him and had been able to see his painting. She recognised the guy as Austin, the son of Arcus from her Cohort. He mostly kept to himself and Anya debated whether she should leave him alone and find a spot further down the shoreline, or to just make her presence known. She decided the latter as she had stayed long enough for him to notice that someone was there with him.
"That's a really beautiful painting." She said softly and moved a little closer so he would be able to see her without putting much strain on his neck.

Bacchus' Garden was one of her favorite places to spend her days off. Here it was peaceful and connections, strength, fighting meant nothing. This small yard she had found, hidden behind rose bushes and vine-covered columns was perfect for venting off some energy and just being herself, the dancer and the skater, not some failed legionaire. So, like every other time she had come here, she dropped her messanger bag on the bench, plugged the mini speakers to her Ipod and started the music. Pieces of Lindsey Sterling were her warm-up music and she began to stretch and hop a little. As soon as she felt ready, she changed the music to Shut Up and Dance by Walk The Moon. The beat made her smile and she just danced. It no longer felt like a choreography, she had made the moves hers. So she smiled and laughed as she jumped in time with the song. It was not hard to find her though. One had only to follow the music to find the Daughter of Chione dancing her heart out and looking so much different than the shy and reserved girl everybody got to see in the Legion.

personality-- Anya is nothing if not dedicated and hardworking. She puts her heart and mind into everything she does and she always learns from her mistakes. She is not the kind of person who will try to hide behind excuses. This means she is also very honest about everything and everyone which has gotten her into a lot of trouble in the past.
Anya also has a tendecy to lose connection with her surroundings when she listens to music, iceskates or dances. She is also a shy and somewhat closed-off person. She will not be the girl to go off and talk to everyone or be a party-animal with strangers. She needs time to open up to people in order to show her more carefree and fun loving self.
If you ever hear her complain you can be sure that anybody else would feel as if they are in the deepest parts of the Fields of Punishment. Anya rarely complains about anything. She has learned to take things in a stride, be patient and work her way out of a situation. godly parent-- Chione/Roman family-- Nikolai Gregorovich, figure skating coach pets-- Yuki, Siberian Longhaired Cat
hometown-- Torondo, Canada history-- Nikolai Gregorovich was a figure Ice Skating Champion until he met the Goddess Chione. They developed a relationship with the goddess being his partner in skating for a year. Then she mysteriously disappeared and nine months later, a baby girl was left at his appartment's doorstep with a note that the child's name was Anastasia and that she was his.
This was a shock at first but Nikolai soon settled down. He retired from active competitions and began his career as a loving father and ice-skating coach. It came to him as no surprise that his daughter was quick to pick up the sport and she loved it.
They had a quiet life in Torondo. Anya went to school, she made a few friends, skated and nothing was strange about her, except maybe the fact she was always a bit colder to the touch. Her real struggle begun later in school. As she progressed in her years, Anya was diagnosed dyslectic and ADHD. Studying was hard for her and she often was found skating instead of studying.
So her father made a decision. He was going to train her to be a professional Figure ice skater. Anya loved it and she was good at it. She still had to attend school, but it was okay if her grades were not that good. As long as practise was the reason behind the grades dropping then it was acceptable.
Slowly but surely, Anya found herself preparing for the Olympics at age 17. Yet the day the final selection was taking place, Anya failed to show up and was thus disqualified. The reason behind that was a Cynocephalus attack on her way to the ice ring. Thankfully her father was close by and saved her.
A call on her dad's cellphone was made from her mother and Anya was sent to the Wolfhouse. Those were the toughest days of her life. Not only she had to accept that she would have to be seperated from her dad and that her chances of competing in the Olympics were blown up, but she would also have to learn to fight. To deal with blood and injury. Ever since she saw a kid losing a finger by accident on a public ring, Anya was deathly afraid of blood. She would freeze up, vomit or faint depending on the situation.
Somehow she managed to pull it through and she found herself in New Rome and the 5th Cohort. Even though she has been there fo about a year, she still has trouble fitting in with the Legion due to her naturally quiet and peaceful disposition.
