Walking Through The Forest [Open To All That Dare]

[sam]

Samantha walked through the forest, carefully pressing a magnifying glass against her left eye. "Here! C'mon boy, c'mon! Unless you're a girl. I apologize if you are. Would you perfer girl, mam, or lady?"

[Harper Jones]

Harper was walking through the wood alone to collect her thoughts. This was the only place she felt close to Jethro after he died and she needed to find a place to plant his tree.
She thought she was alone until stumbled across a girl who looked like she was playing detective.
"What are you looking for?"

[sam]

"An emerald lady bug." Sam said calmly, as if it was an everyday thing. "What about you?"

[Harper Jones]

"I'm trying to find a place suitable for plotting a tree." She shrugged. "I'm Harper, by the way. Demeter kid."

[sam]

"Hello, Harper!" Sam said in a British accent, "My mother is Hecate! And if I could find that little rascal of a ladybug, I could help you find a spot to plant that tree! You see, and emerald ladybug can answer anything, and everything! They could tell me what color to die my hair!"

[Harper Jones]

Harper raised her eyebrows. Was this Hecate girl serious? Twelve years of farm-living and Harper only saw ladybugs in their normal red to orange hue.
"Really? I've never seen an emerald one before."

[sam]

"That's because there's only 1, silly! It's supposedly a legend, but I know it's real. I can feel that's here actually. Probably because of the year-round warm weather." Samantha giggled, pulling out her wand. "I could use this to find it, but I'd like to do it the old fashion way."

[Harper Jones]

"You have a wand?" asked Harper a bit amazed and confused. "I thought they only existed in books!"

[sam]

"Of course! Most Hecate kids don't, but I think it gives you more control." Sam twirled her wand.

[Harper Jones]

"So, how do you find this ladybug without using a wand?" This girl was different, but she seemed nice. And at worse, they'd be ladybug-less, but Harper would have scouted out most of the forest.

[sam]

Samantha shrugged, pointing to her maginfying glass. "It's not about the outcome, it's about the adventure." Samantha replied starting to search around some more.

[Harper Jones]

Harper shrugged then decided to search in some bushes. She would point at branches to make them bend out of the way and at thorns to make them shrink. This was the most useful thing she had that came from her mother.
"Are there any other legendary creatures that roam this forest?"

[sam]

Samantha thought about it for a minute. Nobody ever asked that, let alone believed her. "They're everywhere." She finally said.

[Harper Jones]

"Really? They must be shy, because I've only heard about scorpions and the occasional rabbid bunny." After finding out she was a demigod, Harper thought almost anything was possible. Well, almost anything.

[sam]

"Not shy, just not easy to find." Sam sighed, climbing up a tree. "Here girl, and or boy! Come on!"
