I think this has been highly-requested since we're on an impending girl ban. We have a lot of female members on the site and they want to know how in the world do they RP a guy and probably the same goes for guys who want to RP as girls. Don't worry, Momma Rachel is here to give you some tips and tricks on how to write as the opposite gender.
1) I want you all to take a deep breath and relax. Yes, it is intimidating at first, but when you get down to it, you're RPing a human either way (unless you're creating a satyr/nymph, then disregard that statement). Yes! Boys and girls are humans! Essentially, writing about them is the same. They are going to have their little quirks and stuff, but you're gonna be fine.
2) Probably one of the best things you can do is probably observe before you tackle making a charrie. Observe how the people of the opposite sex act in real life. How can you put that in words? How do other writers on here portray a charrie? If you can find a writer who has a charrie for the opposite sex, is his/her portrayal realistic? How could you make it more so? Just remember that boys act slightly different than girls and vice versa and note those slight differences.
3) A big mistake to make is that you can play a boy/girl charrie like the opposite gender. This is wrong. Unless you want your charrie to be homosexual, this is something you should not do. I accidently did this with my first guy charrie, John. I thought he'd be like a girl charrie and I over-exaggerated his manliness. People kept telling me that John was in the closet and needed to come out. From that little learning experience, John went from being straight, gay, then to bisexual.
4) Just remember to have fun with it! It's your charrie and it shouldn't be stressful!
I think that's it from me! If you guys have any additional tips/tricks, make sure to post them below!
