Cabin-- Asclepius Allegiance-- Greek Personality-- Grey’s personality is best described as cold; he is like snow. Grey seemly lacking the ability to open up to others and is always quiet and calm, somber and stern. He still does maintain a sense of humor, though he tends to not show it. He enjoys making bad puns relating to human anatomy, specifically skeletons, and sometimes to the annoyance of others. Grey also has a bad habit to take everything seriously. Some people would look at Grey and think he's ‘scary’. However, he does care for other people's well-being, in spite of his often somber expressions and curt gestures, He is also very observant and able to note the slightest and the most insignificant of detail. Though he can procrastinate to the point of laziness. He is unsure if being somewhat aware of his inability to help everyone has broken his spirit, knowing that everything he does will mean nothing if they die... or if he's just using it as an excuse to slack off. Although he does not outwardly show it, Grey exhibits depression, evidenced by his lack of motivation and feelings of hopelessness to the point where he is willing to give up. His depression stems from his knowledge of unable to save/help everyone, knowing that even if he could save everyone that he'll end up with the same smiting as his father. He is also fully aware that his own life is already forfeited. In the end, Grey is a actually a very kind and caring young man, having a gentle heart, but becomes eerily serious at abrupt moments (particularly when angry). He just keeps himself protected from being hurt with his cold shell. Godly parent-- Asclepius - Greek Family-- Priscilla Schaeffer, thirty seven, NP Pets-- None, but he does have an affinity for snakes Hometown-- Dundee, Illinois History-- Grey was born into a long line of physicians in the Schaeffer family. He didn't have a very warm home life; which perhaps, the cause of his stoic personality. Though that wasn’t to say it was bad, Grey lived comfortably, in an elegant mansion with only his mother and housekeepers as company. It wasn't hard to say he was brought up in a spoiled environment. The type where you'd think complete brats would come from, those kids that like to go out and party all the time, and screw up their parent's reputation in town. His mother was Priscilla Schaeffer, a young physician born into the lifestyle, thus is how she first attracted the medicine god, Aesculapius. She wasn't the type to swoon, but she didn't think an interaction with the man would do anything to change her life, which it hadn't, after Grey's birth, she’d often be gone due to work, leaving Grey with only his housekeepers and nannies. The vanguard of women practically raised the boy, and was present throughout his childhood more than his own mother. Though they gave the young boy love and affection, Grey craved the attention from his mother the most, though he’d never cause an uproar in an attempt to get her closer as it’d be more likely to fail and undoubtedly push her away even more. When first started school, Grey was teased in school, and he wasn't sure how to react, but he decided that keeping quiet, keeping a low profile, helped more than a lot. Though it was quite clear he wasn’t like the other children, an especially different from other demigods who struggled with ADHD and academics, Grey was rather gifted in it, a child prodigy, and by the age of 16 the boy completed his PHD in medicine and a minor in psychology. At this point, his mother finally took interest in her son and eventually he began to go to work with her, and soon he found that it kept her happy. Before, she had always seemed stressed, but he saw that when she got out of that rather quickly when she went into her work, the thing she did best, then the stress was relieved from her face. And soon enough, he took it upon himself to bond with her. Throughout his childhood, all he had ever wanted was to get close to her and to get her attention, that she was unable to give him due to her work. He learn to respect medicine more and more as he got closer to his mother. Without any other influence in his life, it just sort of became a natural thing for him to follow in his mother's footsteps. Though, this was short lived as they had been in a car accident while driving home from work during a rather heavy snowstorm a few weeks before his 17th birthday, when her car lost traction and spun out into the path of an oncoming vehicle. She had been killed instantly while Grey miraculously survived. Grey was devastated when he heard this news when he woke up two days after, he and his mother finally became close and it had all been stripped away in a matter of seconds. That year was one of the saddest birthday Grey had ever experienced – he didn’t know how he would get by without his mother and Grey tried his best to be happy in the months after that, but soon left off from the family manor as he becoming tried of the old memories that haunted him. This sudden change wasn't good for the son of Aesculapius. the young boy slipped into a shell, that he built around him to protect him from being hurt. As he made his way from the secluded mansion is when he encountered his first monster, a Minotaur had ambushed the boy, seemingly coming from the woodwork.. Grey was a lightweight, it didn't take much, no matter how much he kicked or thrashed. the monster continued after him and if it weren't for a satyr.. Grey wouldn't have made it. He woke up in the Camp Half-Blood infirmary, given a quick initiation that made his head spin, and then thrown into the Hermes cabin. A few pranks on the kid, and some justified paybacks to the ones that did the pranks, and soon he was claimed by Aesculapius and then dumped into his cabin.
