My little place by the lake (OPEN)

[Harper Jones]

"Thanks," smiled Harper weakly. Then she didn't know what happened next. Maybe because she didn't have her step-mom around or Chiron wasn't that great of a listener, but she blurted out, "I lost my best friend." She stopped a second and took a breath. It felt like a small weight was lifted off her shoulders. "I lost my best friend, Jethro, about a month before I came back." She looked down at the ground and kicked the dirt. "He's the reason I came back, actually."

[Accalia Phillips]

Accalia listened to her outburst and followed her first impulse, to give this girl a hug. She quickly pulled back after doing so and moved to the corner of her hide out where nice leafy chair were created. "Come on, sit down." Accalia said kindly, Frederick moved to sit next to her. Accalia couldn't imagine what it was like loosing your best friend. Oh wait, she could.

[Harper Jones]

Harper sat down and rested her head in her hands for a few moments. Then she looked up. "I am so sorry dragging you into this, when we only met a few minutes ago." She shrugged. "But you're the closest thing to family at this camp. And it's not like I can fly over to Indiana anytime I want and talk with my family about it." Except, Harper knew that her dad wouldn't be too happy with her at the moment if he found out.

[Accalia Phillips]

Accalia reached over and put her hand on Harpers shoulder, "We are family Harper. Might as well start acting like one." She smiled and let out a breath of nervous air, "Indiana. Wow. That's not close by." Accalia thought about her dad who had been missing for...who knows how long. She sighed and tried to shake it off.

[Harper Jones]

Harper smiled at her sister and laughed a bit. "Yeah, that's the only downer about camp, being so far away from home." She shrugged and wiped her eyes. "Accalia, can you promise me not to mention this to anyone? Only you and Chiron know about Jethro and I'm not ready to tell everyone, yet."

[Accalia Phillips]

Accalia put a hand over her heart, "Cross my heart, hope to die. I won't tell. But..." she moved her hand back from Harpers shoulder and shifted in her seat, "Since we're telling stories, mind if I share one?"

[Harper Jones]

Harper nodded her head. "It seems like it's story time anyway," she laughed. "Go ahead."

[Accalia Phillips]

Accalia took a deep breath and stared at her hands, "I met a boy here named Aden, Aphrodite kid, but he wasn't like the rest. He was never interested in girls or pink or designer clothes. Him and I were just starting to get really close when he had to go on a quest. I haven't seen him since." She laughed, "Not to mention my Satyr friend Jander never comes to visit anymore. It's been a lonely time so far."

[Harper Jones]

Harper nodded her head and smiled. "He'll come back. The quest might take forever, but he'll be back." She rolled her eyes when she said, "And boys, especially satyrs, are really dense. Iris-message Jander or something. When I first met Jethro, before I knew he was a satyr, it took forever to get across to him that I really liked." She laughed. "At least you're not lonely anymore now that I'm around."

[Accalia Phillips]

"I know! We're lucky to have each other I think. I do have a question though, could a human and a Satyr ever...you know, fall in love?" She was asking this because she had strong feelings for Jander when they first met, and when she found out he was a Satyr he feelings got all mixed around, especially when Aden came into the picture.

[Harper Jones]

Harper threw back her head and laughed. "Accalia, the summer before I came to camp, Jethro came to work on the farm and I had a HUGE crush on him." She smiled back on the memory. "The night I found out that I was a demigod and he was a satyr, I was convinced he was going to kiss me." She laughed some more. "Crushes can happen, but I don't know about falling in love. But I would think it would be difficult, but it's highly possible."

[Accalia Phillips]

Accalia laughed, "Oh my gosh! I can't believe we have that in common. How strange." She was happy that Harper was laughing, she had a very pretty laugh and Accalia knew they would get along. Accalia tried not to think about Jander, or Aden or anything or anyone male and she shook her head, "Boys. Love. Crushes. Seems silly compared to all the bad happening, huh?"

[Harper Jones]

Harper thought about it for a bit. "In the grand scheme of things, it seems pretty trivial, especially with all the monsters and stuff running around. But it keeps me sane. I can't help but drool over and flirt with attractive boys." She laughed. "And good thing this camp is full of them."

[Accalia Phillips]

Accalia nodded, "It is full of them. You know what i'm thinking? We should tag team Demeter style and get real dates." She laughed at the thought and plucked a white rose from a vine on the side and placed it in her hair, the stem grew in order to intertwine with her short hair and make it a head band.

[Harper Jones]

Harper widened her eyes. "Accalia, I like your thinking. I'm liking you more and more every second. Let's do it and show the camp the power of Demeter girls. Those Aphrodites won't stand a chance against us."
