Jacob threw his arms up in the air. Girls. He walked after her towards the Artemis cabin. Truth was he was afraid of getting too close to that thing. He stood several feet away and called out. "Come on Hailey! I didn't meant to make you... that mad!" He said. He tapped his foot for a moment waiting for a response but all he got was silence. He knew what she must be thinking. That he left her for no reason. That he'd be better off gay. He chuckled at the thought and called out again, "I'm sorry it was really that big of a deal to me. Honest!" He yelled.

Hailey didn't even stop and turn at Danny's initial attempts to try and stop her. He wasn't going to make her stop that easily. She was pissed and she knew that he was wrong, totally and completely wrong, for doing that to her. Didn't he realize that he was the reason she left to join the Hunters?

She got to the front porch of her cabin and turned around. His last words really got to her. "And do you think I care?" she spat at him while inside her heart was breaking. "I'm a Hunter, Danny. I don't really care if your life is all tragic or whatnot because you fell in love after me." She took a deep breath as she shook her head. "If you're trying to get me back by making me jealous, you can't. I'm officially off the market. Forever."

Forever. What a painstaking word. In Jacobs opinion nothing could ever be forever, not even the Gods. Luckily he was wise enough not to state these claims out loud. He kept walking closer until he was on the grounds right in front off the porch. "I don't care about you that way." He said firmly. He clenched his hands into fists and dared walking up the steps to meet her on the porch. He reached his hand out and grabbed her wrist, holding it tightly. "How dare you come into my camp where I could be happy and throw everything out of proportion. You hunters turn your back on everything and expect us to be glad to have you around," his nostrils flared with anger, "You're a snob." He threw her arm out of his grasp, "Just like Janessa and all the rest of you. Living forever without love seems pretty worthless to me." He left the porch and stalked away, not wanting to turn back. Before he got too far he stopped himself and turned to look at her. Frozen to the spot, his face softened.

Hailey felt confident when she was on the porch and Danny wasn't. It gave her an air of superiority, which she had to feel over boys as a Hunter. However, that was completely shaken as he got up on the porch with her and grabbed her wrist. Her defenses fell as he tore into her that she didn't do the automatic Hunter response: slap him and tell him off. But he was gone and all Hailey could do was stare at him as he left. It was a painful reminder of why she became a Hunter. He left her. She pressed her lips together as she turned around to open the door to her cabin. She glanced over her shoulder once she opened it and stopped. Danny was looking at her with a softer smile. A smile that she fell in love with. Her heart fluttered as she felt those three little words poised at the tip of her tongue. Three little words that would get her in trouble if she muttered them aloud. She shook her head as she turned back, entered her cabin, and shut the door behind her.
