"I guess," Harper said with a shrug. She really wasn't, but didn't want to tell that to John. She knew how much work he put into it and she was only being nice because he was Charlotte's boyfriend and everything. "Actually... it's a bit boring if you're not dancing."

"Do you want to dance, then?" John asked as soon as the question popped into his mind. "I mean, it'll be strictly on terms of you're my girlfriend's best friend. I think Charlotte would kill me if she found out you were having a bad time at my party."
And then she would dump me...

Harper stared at John. She wasn't quite sure if he was kidding or not. If he was, she had a bowl full of punch ready.
"Um... yeah... sure..." she said very slowly. "Are you sure you're alright? This isn't the John I know."

"I don't know. The John you know usually gets stuff thrown at him." John smirked as he held out his hand. "Please don't get any ideas. Makayla will kill me if this place gets messy. So, shall we?"

Dante laughed. He was having the time of his life. The son of Hephaestus kept dancing without saying much more. After awhile of dancing, he looked at Daphne, "hey wanna go get some drinks?" He liked this night. The camp seemed kinda down since he got here, and he was glad something happy like this was happening for them.

Harper smirked as she took John's hand and followed him onto the dance floor. The song changed from a fast song to a slow one. Her eyes widened and she looked at John.
"Um..." Oh crap...

[Daphne Scotts]

Daphne stopped dancing and nodded her head.
"Yeah. Drinks would be nice. I'm really thirsty."
She started navigating her way towards the snack table hoping Dante was following her. Then the song switched to a slow one and she was glad she was getting out of there.

John widened his eyes along with Harper.
"Well... um... this is an interesting choice of song."
Then he figured out the solution to their problem. The awkward arm-length middle school dancing did the trick.
"So..." he said trying to break the awkwardness. "How have you been lately?"

Dante followed Daphne off the dance floor, and they reached the snack bar. He grabbed a couple of cups and poured them both drinks. "Here you go," Dante smiled, offering her one of the cups. "So, who are you Daphne?" He looked at her with a sparkle in his surprisingly blue eyes.

Daphne was confused for a second as she grabbed the cup.
"Oh... daughter of Zeus. What about you?" She took a sip and looked around. Not many other people were coming through the door. She wondered if the fact that this was an 'illegal' party was not attracting campers. Daphne could only see the adventure in it.

"Son of Hephaestus," he replied. "But..... that's not what I meant. What is it that makes this beautiful daughter of Zeus who she is? What does she like to do? What is her favorite song? Things like that. I don't want to know what people thing they make I want to know you." He smiled at her. I wonder what she'll say.

"Oh... um..." Daphne was caught off-guard by his question. She didn't like talking about herself and having the attention on her. It reminded her too much of what happened after the accident. "Well... I like adventure.... and anything that gives me an adrenaline rush... I'm kinda addicted to it... and I don't really care for music. Bad experience as a child." She bit her lip trying to think of something else. She really didn't think she was that interesting. "... and my mom is a professor of classical studies?"
Yep. She couldn't think of anything else so she played the mom card.

Harper shrugged. This middle-school dancing was so awkward that she wanted to laugh, but she bit her tongue. "Eh... I haven't been the greatest... Some stuff has gone down and I just found out I'm supposed to do another quest soon." She sighed. "It's not the best way to end my week, you know?"

Dante looked irritated. He wasn't mad that she couldn't think about much to say, or that she was uncomfortable with the question, but she had gone back to using the topic of someone else as a shield. "Hey, if you don't want to answer the question then say so, but don't talk about someone else when trying to describe yourself. You are you, and they are themselves. Be proud of who you are." He seemed to calm down after saying that. "Hey, after this is over, do wanna see something cool?" He looked down at her.

John nodded his head. He'd never been on a quest and never planned on going on one, unless he needed to out-model monsters or something.
"Understandable. Just make it a fast quest, okay?" he said with a smirk. "I know Char really missed you on the last one."
