Dakota had to bite her lower lip as she tried to hold back a laugh. It was cute how Dunstan thought he could teach her how to climb a tree. However, she couldn't help but entertain him, especially how he was in a hero's pose. "Fine," she said with a bit of a smirk. "We'll find a date and time and you'll teach me how to climb trees." She giggled a bit as she shook her head. "And don't worry, I won't be in a swimsuit for our climbing date." Well, maybe it wasn't a date, but it was definitely an excuse to see him again.

Dakota frowned a bit when she thought of Rayne once more. "Sadly, life happens. I've just learned to let go of it. I know I'm way better without him in my life anyway."

Dunstan felt his hands start shaking. Even though she had obviously meant 'date' in a very innocent way, he still felt nervous at the word. And that adorable lip biting, it's like she was using her Aphrodite powers on him. But he knew she wasn't... he hoped she wasn't... he wished she was? He blinked a few times to clear his head, which only lasted a few seconds before she said "climbing date." Now she had used it a different way. He sighed and smiled nervously, "well, it's a date then. Plan. Thing." He felt his stomach flop around a little like it did with any thought of being alone with a girl. But he started to relax. This was Dakota. She was nice, friendly and sweet. She wasn't going to eat him.

Dunstan nodded, "You seem happy. Proof that you don't need him. Or any guy, I'd say." his eyes widened, "not that you don't deserve a good guy!" He rolled his eyes at himself. There he went, saying foolish things again.

Dakota couldn't help but smile a bit as she noticed how Dunstan got a bit flustered at the mention of a date. She found it cute, but she couldn't help but look forward to seeing him again, even if that meant she'd have to get her feet off of the ground. Dakota and heights didn't really mesh well. "Good," she said as she relaxed against her hands and leaned back a bit. "Hopefully climbing trees will be fun... I don't know. I haven't really tried it." She shrugged a bit with a slight chuckle.

She glanced out at the ocean once more before she looked at Dunstan and cocked an eyebrow at him. "I'm surprised that someone hasn't come by and splashed you or dunk you in the water with how you're dressed. I would totally do that if I wasn't so nice and worried about people getting revenge."

Dunstan shook his head in disbelief, "why haven't you? Do you have a thing against sap? Ou avez-vous peur de mecs mignons vous poussant?" He smirked as he spoke in french. This time he did it on purpose. He felt more confident speaking in the language of his homeland, plus-french was the language of love, so why not use it for some shameless flirting every now and then? Was there even shame in flirting? Dunstan didn't understand that phrase. He decided he'd look into that later.

Dunstan shook his head, "Here is the thing about that. People are planning to try..." he shrugged, "I can sort of predict peoples battle strategies ahead of time. It's like telling the future only not... anyway, I'm actually quite prepared. Plus, I keep shifting so that other people are blocking their view of me so they don't brew about it as much-hey! That was rude!" he laughed, finally realizing that she said she'd do it herself.

Dakota noticed that Dunstan started speaking French again, but she didn't let it freak her out as much as before. She didn't know how to activate her French-speaking skills, but she decided maybe it wasn't something she could completely control. "Je n'ai pas peur de la sève. Vous devriez voir certains de mes frères dans la cabine. Et j'espère que vous n'êtes pas le garçon mignon qui would'd-être me pousse, puisque vous seriez le seul dans l'arbre avec mo." She smirked a bit as she decided to flirt back with him. Dakota decided that speaking French wasn't that big of a disadvantage. It was almost like she had a little code language with a cute boy, which she didn't mind at all.

She raised her eyebrows when he talked about how he could predict people wanting to dunk him in the ocean. She laughed and smiled as he realized what she just said to him. "Well, you're asking for it," she said as she reached out to lightly slap his arm. "And if I was strong or whatever, I would try to do that to you... Actually..." She got up as she reached out to grab him by the arm with a laugh. "If I can lift patients all day, I can probably drag you to the ocean."

(Translation: "I'm not afraid of sap. You should see some of my brothers in the cabin. And I hope you're not the cute boy who would'd be pushing me, since you'd be the only one in the tree with me.")

Dunstan laughed as she mentioned her brothers, "Donc, attendez. dites-vous vos frères ont peur de la sève ou ils sont Sucs?" He asked with even more laughter. Then he placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled reassuringly, "Eh bien, je ne voudrais pas vous pousser. Vous savez que. C'est pourquoi vous pouvez me faire confiance avec les arbres!" He quickly removed his shoulder when he realized how bare her skin was.

Dunstan was taken by surprised when she grabbed his arm, "hey, I'm sure you're really strong, but could I at least take the t-shirt off first!?" He stood as well and started getting pulled towards the water, she was strong, but he was also letting her do it. "I'll admit, I did not see this coming. My bets were on those Apollo kids over there," he pointed as he was dragged along.

"Mes frères et sœurs sont ceux de sève. Vous devriez les voir pendant les films romantiques." Dakota laughed as she shook her head. "Mais je suis content que je peux vous faire confiance. Je ne veux pas haïr arbres toujours à cause d'un petit coup de pouce."

Dakota laughed as she continued to pull Dunstan to the water. "Quoi? Avez-vous peur de l'obtention de votre chemise un peu humide?" she teased him in French as she got him closer and closer to the waves."Je suppose que je vais vous l'enlevez car ce n'est pas un concours humide t-shirt. Me souviens juste que je suis plus beau que ces enfants Apollo." She allowed a few seconds for him to remove his shirt if he wanted before she dragged him out into the ocean and dunked him.

(Translation: "My siblings are the sappy ones. You should see them during romantic movies. But I'm glad I can trust you. I don't want to hate trees forever because of one little push." "What? Are you afraid of getting your shirt a little wet? I guess I'll let you take it off because it's not a wet t-shirt contest. Just remember that I am nicer than those Apollo kids.")

Gods, that french was flawless and her silky voice made it even better. He'd never had someone tell him to remove his shirt in French before, he decided he could get used to it. Aaaaand he mentally slapped himself for thinking that. He stopped and took of his blue t-shirt. Throwing it onto the sand, he heard a few of his siblings cat call and snicker from the distance. He knew it was them because they were the only ones who would do that, as a joke... right? There was no way anyone else actually thought that he looked good.

He shook his head, "Je n'ai jamais enlevé ma chemise pour une fille avant .... devinez aujourd'hui est votre jour de chance ... ou le mien." He was quickly pulled into the ocean and dunked under, but he made sure to keep hold of her hand as he went down, he pulled her arm as hard as he could, trying to get her under the water.

"Eh bien, il ya une première fois pour tout." Dakota couldn't help but smirk a bit when Dunstan took her brief offer to remove his shirt. She couldn't help but notice he looked very nice and wondered why he decided to cover up in the first place. But there was more important things at hand, like getting that boy dunked into the ocean. She managed to succeed, but didn't notice him grabbing her arm to take her down with him until her head was already under water.

It completely caught her by surprise as salt water went into her mouth, but she managed to cough it out when she broke the surface. Once she managed to gain her composure, she splashed Dunstan once he emerged from the water. "Is this how you treat a girl when she's going on a tree climbing date with you later?" she laughed as she stuck her tongue out at him.

(Translate: "Well, there is a first time for everything.")

Dunstan tried to keep his grip on her but the water made his hands slippery, and they separated. He had a brief moment of panic, what if he was carried away into the ocean and eaten by sea cows? Finally, he broke the surface, only to get splashed in the face. He laughed, "yup, I like to keep my date as un-romantic as possible." He moved towards her as he spoke, just going with the mood, until he realized how close they were. Not just close, but clothe-less. Obviously She had a bathing suit and he was wearing khaki shorts but the thought still freaked him out. "Uhhh..." he managed to get out as he tried to stand up, only to slip and fall into the water again.

“Unromantic as possible?” Dakota laughed as she smirked at Dunstan. “You are doing a pretty good job of it.” The water felt good against her skin as she decided to just enjoy the sensation. She noticed that Dunstan was getting a little closer to her than before, especially with their joking mood. Dakota happened to risk a glance down at his lips, but nothing really could be done, since Dunstan flopped into the water.

“Are you okay?” she asked, forgetting about his lips as she reached down to lend him a hand. “Maybe we should get you out. I think I've done my duty for the day and made everyone jealous that they didn't do it first,” she said with a slight smirk.

Dunstan laughed, again, when she complimented his ability to be unromantic. Right before he went under he thought her saw her eyes flicker away from his. What was she looking at? Was there something on his face? Well, if there was the water was washing it away now. So, that was a perk to slipping like a total moron.

Dunstan saw her hand reaching towards him and clasped onto it, letting her pull him out of the water. This girl was strong. Granted, he had never had a girl lift him or pull him anywhere or out of anything before so he had nothing to compare it too. He shook his head and let the water from his hair splash onto her skin, "I'm okay, I'm okay. I'm sure you did a great job disappointing a lot of people." He smiled, but the smile quickly vanished when he noticed that his siblings were laughing and looking in his direction. What were they thinking he had done out here with this girl? Dunstan couldn't bear to guess.

Dakota flinched a bit when Dunstan managed to splash some water on her, but she smiled a bit when he said that he was okay. "That's good. I was a bit worried you hit your head or something when you fell in, then I would have to take you back to the infirmary and get you checked out." She smirked a bit before laughter from the Athena kids erupted and Dakota turned to look over at them with a raised eyebrow.

"Do your siblings have anything else better to do than stare and laugh at us?" she asked as she rolled her eyes before turning back to Dunstan. "We should probably get out so you can get you into dry clothes, but stay away from the beach. They won't stay dry much longer if you tempt fate again."

"No infirmary for me! I try to avoid it. But now..." he glanced up at her, "I'll probably avoid it less often." He pictured what it would be like to have her taking care of him. The thought was a little weird, having someone so beautiful and well, just Dakota by his side when he was in need. It seemed nice, nicer than taking care of himself. But it was also strange because he often didn't let anyone take care of him.

Dunstan shook his head, "even for an Athena kid I'm more reserved than anyone else, this is probably a miracle to them." It was, admittedly, a miracle to himself as well. But this is what he came for today, to make some friends and stop hiding behind his books and rocks all day.

Dunstan laughed, "fate and I have never been good friends. But, I agree, avoiding the water would probably put us on better terms." He stood up, slower this time, and reached a hand out to her. He didn't even notice that his hand was shaking.

“It’s not that bad,” Dakota said with a smirk as she looked at Dunstan, making sure to avoid his lips for now. “Then again, this is coming from someone who works there constantly, but I can definitely see why people would want to avoid it. Some of those Apollo kids can be just plain rude.”

She glared out at the Athena group as their laughter continued. “Even if you’re reserved, they still don’t have anything better to do.” She rolled her eyes as she noticed he offered his shaky hand to her. Her eyes narrowed before looking up at him. “You’re cold, aren't you? C'mon.” She grabbed his hand and led him back to the beach.

Her suit felt heavier once she stepped out of the ocean and she looked back at him. “And of course you’re not wearing anything that would dry out quickly. Once she got to her towel, she picked it up from the sand and handed it to him. “Dry off, and then I would suggest you going back and changing, since I don’t want you catching a cold before our date.”
