[Audrey Appleby]

Be prepared for the chance of a lifetime. Be prepared for sensational news. That one Disney song was running through Audrey's mind as she decided to test out her knives on the dummies in the arena. She stabbed the dummy in beat with the song. Once she stabbed the dummy with one knife, she would pull out another knife hidden on her body and stab it again. She made sure that she did the maximum damage to the dummy as everyone in the arena watched her in awe.

Besides that song running through her mind, she imagined that the dummy she was mauling was Gideon. Not much of a difference anyway, both were pretty empty in the head. She wanted to be prepared for when she finally faced that Ares boy, her brother. He did enough damage as it was. Princess was emotionally and mentally unstable and the Usurpers were going nowhere with his leadership. Audrey knew what she needed to do and it was only a matter of time before her plan went into action.

Once Audrey used up all of her knives, she took a step back and admired her handiwork. She smirked a bit when she saw the many handles sticking out of the dummy. She chuckled underneath her breath as she walked back up and started removing her weapons and putting them back in their holsters all around her body.

Leon stood at the edge of the arena watching as a girl stabbed a dummy with a very surprising amount of knives she seemed to keep, somewhere on her person. "My gods, where does she keep all of those knives?" He whispered to himself under his breath. She seemed to be stabbing it to the beat of some song known only to her. What was most shocking to him was still the fact that it looked like she wasn't about to run out of knives any time soon.


All too soon she had actually finished stabbing the training dummy with her considerable amount of knives, stepping back to admire her own work before chucking softly to herself. She then started to remove her knives and that was when he decided to try to talk to the young woman before him. He walked up to her, making sure she could hear his steps well before he got close to her, not wanting to startle her and get stabbed. He called out a greeting to her as he stopped around ten feet away from her, "Hello there! What has this particular dummy done to deserve your ire today? Should I expect the same treatment if I asked you for a spar?" He asked her in a joking manner.

As Audrey was removing the knives, she could hear someone approach her. A slight smirk settled onto her face as she yanked her knives out. That poor boy... he will learn quick enough... He happened to speak to her just as she was pulling her last knife out of the dummy. She spun around the pointed the knife at the boy, mainly at his throat, as she stared him down. She watched his reactions for a few seconds before she spun her knife in her hand before placing it in the holster at her waist.

"That depends," she said coolly as she looked the boy over. "I don't think that dummy got the stabbing it deserved and how much do you value your life?" She chuckled softly underneath her breath as there was a hint of venom in her next words. "So if you want to run away, now's your chance."

With the knife so near his throat he waited a second before she placed it away and spoke. As she did he let go of a breath he had been holding subconsciously. This girl, is a little too quick to stab for me I'd think. But I can't just back down from a challenge like that. Reaching up, he rubbed his neck a little on the side and gave her a bit of a nervous smile. "Well I would say I value my live highly, but I've got a few friends in Iraq that would disagree after I took some bullets for them." Hearing the venom in her voice after she chuckled a bit riled him up just a bit. His face hardened as he opened his mouth, "What do you take me for, some kind of coward? To just run away because you pointed a knife at my throat? I might have, if you were the first woman who did something like this. As it stands I've seen things far worse then you, and done deeds that still haunt my dreams at night. Come back to me with your venom once you've killed a child no older then 13 just because if you didn't, he would kill you."

Looking away from the girl, he got lost in his memories for a moment. His mind flashing back to his time in Iraq and the things he did just to survive. Not to mention, his time as a POW. Shaking himself from his mind he looked back down at the girl before him. "I came here to ask for a spar, and I still will. Hopefully so long as you don't kill or permanently maim me, we'll get along just fine." He tried to smile a bit as he said that pulling a seemingly simple bronze wrench from the side of his pants, and sliding a weapon off his back to prop against the side of the arena. He still had no ammunition for the rifle so it was, for now, just a massive paper weight. Twirling the wrench around one hand he faced the girl again. "My name is Leon, and I'm still quite new here. Don't go too harsh on me." With one final flourish the wrench turned into the Celestial Bronze War Hammer it was meant to be. He settled it over one shoulder while looking at the girl expectantly.

Once Audrey placed her last dagger in her holster, she crossed her arms across her chest as she tilted her head to the side as she observed the boy. He was one of the older campers around camp, but so was she. Most of these campers had their ages in the single digits when she took her oath. She smirked a bit as the boy tried to make himself tougher to her. "And yet, you haven't seen a monster whose soul purpose is to kill you?" she chuckled as she shook her head. "People are malleable. You need to give them a purpose for what they're doing, even if it's in the wrong. But with monsters? They just like smelling your freshly spilled blood all over their paws."

She raised her eyebrows at the boy as he looked away from her. "And a spar you will get, if you so dare," she mused as she reached down to grab two knives from her side. She held them in her hands as she got herself ready. She cocked an eyebrow at boy as he decided now was the perfect time to introduce himself. "I'm Audrey. Daughter of Ares, Hunter of Artemis. But you can refer to me as your worse nightmare. And newbie or not, I don't go easy on anyone." She smirked as she chuckled, "So we begin or are you going to be polite and say 'Ladies first'?"

Seeing as the girl gave her Godly parent, Leon realized he should do the same. "I didn't know it was customary to greet with one's godly parent, my apologies. Leon Orcot, Son of Hephaestus, Lance Corporal US Marine Corps, retired now. And as for ladies first..." He pauses here for a moment as he brings out a pair of earbuds to place into his ears, tucking the wiring down his shirt so it doesn't get in the way. He brings his war hammer up in a mighty swing right in front of her. "All's fair in love and war they say. Which this is, has yet to be determined." He gives her a smirk before swinging the hammer around again, missing her by a mile on purpose to get a feel for it's weight. "The one thing they taught me that I will never forget, it never let your enemy attack first, for then you have a greater chance of losing. And never fight fair." During one spin he rakes his hammer through the dirt to send it spraying at the now dubbed Audrey's face before following it with a hard swing towards her left side. With his free hand he hit's play on his iPod, starting off with "Ballroom Blitz" by The Sweet.

Audrey smirked as the boy, Leon, gave his godly parent along with a couple more details she really didn't care about. "This is going to be fun," she muttered underneath her breath as she gripped her knives a little bit harder and bounced slightly from anticipation. She raised her eyebrows a bit as he decided that he needed to his earbuds in for whatever music he felt like he needed to hear at the moment. "What?" she mocked him as she waved her knives a little bit to remind him of their current spar. "Do you need background music to getting your ass kicked? This isn't a movie, you know."

And the action finally started and Audrey couldn't help but smirk. She jumped to the side as he swung at her the couple of times before he raked his weapon at her feet. She managed to jump over it, but her landing was shaky and she landed hard on the dirt knocking her breath out of her. She barely had time to roll over as he swung at her side, but she managed to throw one of her knives at his shins, but missed. "Damn," she swore as she reached for another knife on her body. "I'm rusty." She hopped onto her feet in a squatting positions before she charged him while swinging her knives.

Leon watched as her mouth moved while his music was playing, I wonder if she knows I can't hear her? Meh, it's a moot point. That's when things started getting interesting. After dodging his swings she seemed to knock the wind out of herself on landing before throwing a knife at his legs, missing by quite a bit. Huh, with what she was doing earlier I expected better knife skills. I guess I'll be on guard in case that was a ruse. Seeing her rush at him, knives in hand, he brought up his hammer, preparing a technique he hadn't done since before he was captured in Iraq. He slammed the head of the hammer down in front of her and using that momentum and power, did a roll in the air over the young woman. Leaving the hammer behind he launched a kick at her back after landing.

This was definitely not as easy as taking on that dummy and stabbing it endlessly, but Audrey did like a challenge and she did need the practice before she faced Gideon. She had to be sure that she won that meeting, since she was going to take complete control of the Usurpers. She was expecting to charge Leon and maybe get a few stabs at him, but that boy wasn't letting her get away that easily. Audrey barely managed to blink before she noticed that Leon was in the air and landed behind her. She felt his shoe hit her back and she stumbled forward before tumbling into a somersault. Once she was on the ground, she turned around to throw both of her knives at him before he realized how close she was to a couple of people also sparing.

"Gimme that," she said as she grabbed the nearest boy to her as she knocked him out with a blow to the head before stealing his sword. She took the weapon into her hands before she turned to face her opponent. "Now that we're on even grounds," she muttered before she charged him before he could grab his war hammer.

Leon allowed a smile to form on his face as the music changed to The Final Countdown by Europe. "Heh, it fits." As he said this he saw the girl knockout and disarm the other boy before charging at him. Now that was just plain rude of her. I guess I'll have to teach her a lesson. Realizing he didn't have time to get to his hammer before she would be there, he quickly back peddled closer to his rifle and picked it up off the ground. As she came in for a swing, he swung his own weapon into the flat of the blade and knocked it off course, before exploiting the opening and slamming the butt of his rifle into her solar plexus. Hearing a whoosh of air from her lungs, he stepped around her and strapped his rifle back on grabbing his hammer off the ground.

Audrey couldn't help but smirk as she noticed the boy backing away from her. Maybe it was size that mattered to boys. She didn't notice was he was backing up to reach something before she swung her sword over her head to hit him. Somehow, he managed to break her grip on the sword, which only meant her free hand was going to one of her many hidden knives stashed on her body, but he managed to hit her in the middle of her chest underneath her ribs.

Her lungs burned as she gasped for air and glared at Leon as he happened to step around her and happened to have his back towards her. Her chest was burning, but she ignored it for a moment was she whipped around with the intention of digging her knife into his back. So what if he wasn't prepared? That just made it easier for Audrey.

Hearing something move behind him Leon quickly spun around to face Audrey again, only to find her inches from him. He suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest and looked down to find a knife slipped right between his ribs. He coughed, spitting out a wad of blood. "Well, it seems I fucked up. Never turn your back to your enemy." He knocked the earbuds out of his ears before giving a shudder of pain. Bringing up his hammer he gave a weak swing to push her back a bit before pulling the knife out and throwing it down on the ground. He tore a piece of his shirt off and shoved it inside the wound to try to halt the bleeding a bit. His knees shook a bit as he took up a defensive stance. Hearing a noise he smiled weakly before spitting up more blood, "I guess this is the final countdown after all." The song was still going on his iPod.

A sadistic smile appeared on Audrey's lips as she felt her dagger sink into Leon's flesh. She let go of the handle and took a step back to admire her damage. This was much better than a dummy. A dummy didn't spit up blood. "Isn't that the first rule of combat?" she chuckled as she stepped back a bit to make sure his blood didn't get on her shoes. She raised an eyebrow at him as she debated whether or not it was okay to yank her knife out of his chest. On one hand, he could die, but it was her knife.

She sighed as she realized that people were watching them and she couldn't reveal her true intentions just now. "No, it's not," she said sternly as she motioned over some Apollo kids from the other side of the arena that happened to be watching. "I do not need my noblest competitor dying on me quite yet."

Leon sighed as he dropped to his knees with a grunt. Counting his lucky stars he gave a grunt before pulling the knife out of his chest himself as the Apollo kids made it to him. He wiped the knife off on his pants before handing it back to it's owner. "I believe this is yours. I had a wonderful spar, minus the hole in my chest, I'd love to do this again sometime." He coughed a bit more before spitting out another wad of blood. He willed his hammer back into a wrench and put it in it's proper place on his pants.

He laid back on the stretched the Apollo kids brought him and stopped them from leaving just yet. He stuck his hand out to the young lady beside him, hoping for a hand shake. "Come find me later, it may be pleasant to talk with you when you aren't trying to kill me."

Audrey cringed slightly as Leon decided to pull her knife out of his chest before handing it back to hear all clean. "You're a strange one, you know that?" she said calmly as she also wiped it off on her pants to double check before she stuck it back in a holster on her body. She smirked as she put her hands on her hips and looked at the boy as he was getting patched up.

"I think I'll let you heal up before I challenge you again, but I enjoyed the fight... immensely." She chuckled as she shook his hand when he stuck it out. "Maybe. I'll try not to rub it in your face the fact that I won." She dropped his hand and nodded her head to the Apollo kids before she took a step back. "Until next time," she said before she turned around to grab the rest of her knives scattered around the arena.
