Dakota was confused for a brief second why Dunstan was moving his arm away from her before he draped it around her shoulders. She smiled a bit as she looked up at him, but her eyes immediately went to his lips again. "Yeah, good thing you're here," she said with a slight giggle as she glanced up at his eyes. She looked forward again as he directed a little bit more through the woods before they stopped in front of some trees.

Dakota looked up the trees as she tried to gauge how far up they were. "Reach for the heavens..." she muttered to herself as she took a step closer to the trees. "Don't think about the ground..." She took a deep breath as she reached up to grab a branch and pull herself up.

Dunstan couldn't describe how happy it made him that this girl could understand when he spoke French. He had never thought of conversing with the children of Aphrodite in this way before! Well, to be honest, he never really though about conversing with the children of Aphrodite at all. They were always just so... unreachable. But this girl. Dakota. She was so down to earth. And Dunstan loved earth.

He was surprised when she started to pull herself, "Hey, hey. I'm coming," he smirked as he stepped behind her and watched her start to pull herself up. "Make sure to bend your knees. I'll be right behind you," he kept his hands in the air, ready to catch her if she fell. He started climbing up behind her. Everyone once in a while he reached up, about to grab her leg to make sure she didn't fall, but she was fine. Which was slightly disappointing.

Dakota grunted as she hoisted herself up into the tree. She swung her feet so that she was climbing the trunk before she got on top of the first branch. She wanted to look down and see if Dunstan was still there, but she remembered his rule about not thinking about the ground. The last thing Dakota really needed was her fear of heights to be realized. So she looked upwards at the tree as she grabbed the next branch closest to her. "Atteindre les cieux." she muttered to herself as she kept going higher and higher. "Ne pensez pas à la terre." After a while, she stopped at a branch and looked down at Dunstan. She didn't see the ground, but instead the tons of branches she had climbed.

"Do you want me to keep going?" she asked as she raised an eyebrow at him. "I don't know how far up you like to go."

(And translations: "Reach for the heavens." and "Don't think about the ground.")

Dunstan chuckled as she muttered his instructions in French. He wasn't sure if she even knew she was doing it. It was cute, he couldn't deny that. When she stopped, he kept climbing until he was perched beside her, "Hmm. No, this should be good. Now, what you want to do is get situated in a comfortable position, with your back against the trunk for support," he demonstrated by turning around on the branches and leaning against the Trunk, his legs straddled the branch in front of him, but he rested one foot on another branch nearby.

"These trees are pretty close together, so it should be easy to get support. You just have to distribute your weight properly," he left his position in order to move closer to her, "here, just get situated in those branches right there and I'll sit beside you, that way I can catch you if you start to fall," he smirked a little at that comment. He knew she wouldn't fall.

Dakota watched Dunstan as he climbed up beside her before he gave her an answer. She couldn't lie, he was really good at climbing trees and she couldn't help but find that slightly attractive. She nodded her head at him as he said this was high enough and observed him as he demonstrated how to sit on the branch. She looked at the one underneath her feet and raised her eyebrows a bit. It looked sturdy enough, but did she really trust it? She trusted Dunstan that he wouldn't allow her to sit on a not-so-sturdy branch.

She pressed her lips together as she gingerly tried to move herself around on her branch. She felt like her feet were suddenly way too big for the branch and one wrong step. She forced that thought out of her head, especially with Dunstan right beside her. He wouldn't allow that, right? She grabbed a hold of trunk as she gingerly moved her feet around on the branch so she was turned with her back towards the trunk. She took a deep breath as she did a bit more adjusting before she was sitting down straddling the branch.

She let out a sigh of relief and chuckled a bit as she finally did it. She looked over at Dunstan and smiled as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "So this is tree climbing, huh?" she asked him a bit breathlessly as she risked a glance at his lips.

Dunstan watched as she followed his instructions. Every once in a while he would reach his hands out toward her and hover it by her shoulder or leg, wherever he thought she may need some help. He probably looked like a mime the way he was sort of just floating his arms around her, getting ready to catch her if she fell.

Once she was all situated, he smiled proudly at her, but she wasn't even making eye contact with him. Was she... was she looking at his lips? He blushed, reaching up and grabbed a branch, pulling himself around so that he was straddling the same branch she was, but he was facing her. His back wasn't to the trunk, but that was okay, he was really good at the balance thing. "Yup. It's pretty fun, right?" He said, finding himself glancing at her lips now.

Dakota giggled a bit as Dunstan effortlessly swung from his branch over to hers. She smirked a bit as she rested her hands on the branch in front of her and leaned forward a bit. "It is fun and you're really good at it." She noticed for a moment that his eyes weren't looking at hers, but instead lower, but not much lower. Her cheeks flushed a bit once she thought about what that meant.

But her Aphrodite instincts seemed to immediately kick in. She leaned in a little closer to Dunstan with her eyes glancing down to his lips. She stopped for a moment as she looked up at his eyes, wondering if she was misreading things and forcing herself onto a guy again.

"Well, you're not bad so just a little more practice and you'll get better, I can teach you how to-" he blushed. The way she was looking at him... he could take what she said in another way. But the other thing she could be implying... his cheeks started to burn. He wasn't any good at that sort of thing. Did that mean that it wouldn't be fun? He felt his heart start to pump harder against his chest. This was not going to be good.

Oh Gods, what was he doing here?

Dunstan gulped down his words of protest as she leaned forward, bringing her lips even closer to him. He made eye contact with her as he looked up at her through her eyelashes. He felt himself himself catch his breath. Should he say something? What was he supposed to do now? He didn't notice that he had been slowly leaning in closer as he was wrapped in his thoughts, before he knew it he was closing the gap between them.

Dakota thought for a moment that Dunstan was about to reject her. That she was reading too much into things and that she was throwing herself onto another guy, again. First Rayne, and now Dunstan. She was so caught up in her thoughts that she didn't even realize that Dunstan was closing the gap in between them until his lips were on hers. She was caught a little off-guard at first, but it wasn't long before she leaned in as she kissed him back.

His lips were soft, just as she thought they would be. It was nice, very nice. Dakota smiled a bit into the kiss before she pulled away to catch her breath. "Ce était merveilleux." she muttered to Dunstan.

(Translate: That was wonderful.)

Dunstan had kissed a girl before, only one time a long time ago. But this was a completely different feeling. Back then he was a boy, kissing a girl that he had a little crush on. He was a man now, nineteen years old and inexperienced as ever. He wasn't sure if he was even doing it right, he just went with the flow. Her lips were soft and tasted like... mint, or strawberries... he couldn't tell which. Either way, it was better than he expected. He could feel her smile against his lips and couldn't help but do the same. When she pulled away and spoke, he let a little chuckle escape his lips.

"Ce est parce que nous sommes bien à elle," he muttered back, keeping his voice low.

But now was the hard part. Did he kiss her again? Did he just stare at her? He felt himself starting to get nervous, the magic of the moment was trying to slip away from him.

Dakota giggled breathlessly as Dunstan replied back to her comment. Her brain wasn't making the connection at the moment that they were speaking French, but she had more important things on her mind at that moment. She opened her eyes slightly look at Dunstan as she just looked at him as she tried to catch her breath. She wondered for a moment whether he was going to kiss her again or not, but she got slightly impatient.

She decided that he was taking too long and she leaned in to kiss him again. She decided to kiss him softly this time around as she reached up to rest her hand on the side of his neck.

Dunstan was glad that she made the move. It made things a lot easier for him. The magic was back, for now, and he hoped it would stick around. He felt a jolt go through his neck when she placed her hand there. Her kiss was soft, but he pursued a little more as he found himself wrapping his arm around he waist and pulling himself a little closer to her. He felt another smile work across his lips until he had to pull away to chuckle again. "Here, you should lean back against the tree. I don't want you to fall," he said, barely looking away from her lips.

Dakota was really enjoying this as she leaned into the kiss and towards him more. She smiled against his lips as she felt his arm wrap around his waist. For a moment, she almost forgot that she was high above in the trees. She inwardly groaned for a moment as he pulled away from her lips as the kiss ended quite too soon for her liking. "Okay," she muttered to him as she reached out with her free hand to grab a handful of his shirt. She moved back to lean against the tree as she used her hand gripping his shirt and resting on his neck to pull him closer to continue their kiss.

Dunstan laughed again as she groaned in displeasure, assuming it was because he had ended the kiss due to his worries about her safety. Before he even got a chance to say anything else, they were kissing again and she was pulling him closer using both hands. His eyebrows raised in surprise as he was pulled forward. He moved the hand that was around her waist to flatten it against the tree behind her, using his arm as a guard so she couldn't fall that way. After kissing her for a moment longer, maybe even a little rougher this time, he found that his other hand was rested on her knee, which was bare because of the shorts she was wearing. As soon as he realized this he pulled his hand and face back, blushing insanely. He looked down to the side, avoiding her gaze for a moment. "I..." well, he used to know words.

Dakota really liking how this kiss was going, especially with Dunstan practically on top of her. This was almost too perfect except for the fact that they were high up in the tree and a thing called gravity still existed for them. She loved the feeling of his arm around her waist and his hand on her knee. And it didn't hurt that his lips were super soft... but the kiss ended way too soon for her liking again.

She opened her eyes to look at him, but noticed that he was acting odd and avoiding her eyes. She straightened up a bit as the hand on his neck went to his chin to get him to look at her. "Hey," she said softly as she looked at him with concern. "Is everything alright?"
