Scared (Open)

[Hailey Nichols]

Hailey didn't know what the Hades she got herself into after that day in the infirmary. She barely professed her love to the boy before Lady Artemis came swooping down and zapped her into a jackalope. Vincent managed to take care of her barely, but today he happened to turn his back on her for a minute and Hailey hopped the wrong direction.

Now, she was lost. Everything looked so different down at her level. She could no longer tell which cabin was which and she kept hopping along hopping she'd find Vincent's cabin. Instead, she found the forest instead and she was scared. She frantically hopped around the base of the trees with her little bunny eyes wide and her nose twitching. She hoped that she could find her way back to the cabins before something decided to eat her.

[Zeodyme Delacross]

Zeo had wandered away from camp once again, looking for a little quiet time. He smiled softly to himself as he brushed past the trees, he often found himself enjoying little moments like this. Despite all the technology he had grown accustomed to, he still liked to just get back to nature sometimes. He continued walking, looking for a nice spot to relax in. Breaking the tree line, he found a nice little clearing with a small creek running through it. Settling himself down by a tree, Zeo prepared to doze off.

Zeo heard some rustling coming from his left and his dozing off was halted. Thinking it could be a monster he cursed for forgetting to bring his bow with him into the woods. Looking over he let out a relieved sigh seeing that it was just a bunny that had broken the silence. Leaning back against the tree, he noticed something odd about this little bunny. It seemed to have a set of horns coming from the top of it's head. "Is that a jackalope? What's one of those doing here?" Speaking softly Zeo tried to coax it closer to him, gently holding out one hand, "Hey there little one, are you lost? It'll all be okay, why don't you come rest with me, there's nothing to be scared of here."

Hailey kept frantically hopping around the base of the trees. Oh, why couldn't she stay in one spot and have Vincent find her... he if even knew she was missing. She knew this was going to be her last moments. She was going to die in the forest at the hands of a monster just like her twin did.

She hopped around the base of a tree and froze once she realized she found something... or something found her.... Her bunny eyes were wide and her nose kept twitching as she tried to access the threat. It wasn't a monster, which was probably a good thing, but she never seen the boy around camp before. She flinched a bit as he spoke to her and almost took a step back when he reached out his hand. She eyed the boy as her heart pounded. If there was a boy here, he knew his way back to camp... camp meant she could find Vincent once more.

This might be a mistake/ she thought to herself before hesitating a bit and hopping towards the boy.

[Zeodyme Delacross]

Zeo smiled a bit as the little one hopped closer to him. He patted the ground beside him as the little jackalope hopped beside him. "Rest yourself right here with me for a bit. I'll be heading back to camp in a bit and I'll be taking you back with me. Perhaps someone there knows why you are so far north." He settled back down where he had been sitting and idly ran his hand over the top of the little thing's head. He smiled down at it before settling his head back against the tree. He wasn't sure why this little creature was this far north, as they usually inhabited the planes of the western states. Sitting quietly for a few minutes he relaxed before getting ready to stand up. Staying at a crouch for a second, he held his arms out to the little thing. "Hop into my arms, and I'll take you back to camp little one. It'll be much safer there for you, no monsters there to bother you."

Hailey's heart pounded in her chest as she hopped closer to the boy. So far, he didn't look like he was going to threaten her safety and he looked nice for the most part. The last thing she wanted at the moment was for her to die as a jackalope. She just wanted to be human again and be with Vincent! She hopped so she was along side the boy before she hesitantly settled down beside him. Her little bunny nose twitched as her eyes glanced up at the boy.

I'm not really a jackalope! I'm a human! she wanted to scream, but it only came out in a series of short squeaks. She hunched down a little more as a shiver ran down her back. She glanced up at the boy as he opened up his arms to her. Back to camp? If he knew the way, that meant it was faster to get back to Vincent and hopefully a human. She readied herself a bit before she hopped into his arms and got herself comfortable.

[Zeodyme Delacross]

Zeo smiled down at the little creature as it squeaked at him. He gave a mischievous smirk before he responded to the squeaks, "I'm sorry little one, but I don't speak cute furry woodland creature. Perhaps Chiron understands it, we should pay him a visit to see if he can tell me why you're here in the first place. Yes, that sounds like a wonderful plan." He stood as his arms curled protectively around the little horned bunny. He started walking back to camp, before he paused for a moment.

Looking down at the furry bundle he held, he admitted something, "I just realized something little one, I don't remember the way back to camp. Thankfully for us, I'm a son of Hermes, so I can just teleport us back to there together. Isn't that just lucky?" He poked the jackalope right on the nose, and gave it a cheeky wink, before he teleported the two of them to the porch of the big house. He opened the front door before he walked inside over to Chiron's office. He gave a gentle knock on the door and waited to be allowed to enter.

[OOC] I need Rachel or Char to poof into Chiron for this part of the story I guess, as Zeo doesn't understand furry woodland creature.

[Chiron]

Things were hard for the centaur lately with him to keep the Hermes campers in line along with a lot of other troublemakers. For some reason, this time of the year caused more mischief than merriment. He decided that the camp was safe for a little bit as he locked himself into his office and tried to take a nap in his wheelchair.

He was about to doze off when he heard a knock at the door. He jumped a bit before mumble something before he rolled over to the door. He opened it to see that an Hermes boy was there. He narrowed his eyes a bit before he noticed the small creature in the boy's arms. He took his gaze down to the creature. "You shouldn't be found around here," he muttered as the jackalope chirped back at him. Chiron sighed as he shook his head before looking up at the Hermes camper. "Do you know how long it's been since I've seen a Huntress be turned into a jackalope by Artemis? Tsk tsk."

[Zeodyme Delacross]

Zeo gave a wave to Chiron as he opened the door. He was in his wheelchair, as he normally was when he was inside the big house. Taking note of what Chiron said, he nodded his head, "Hey boss man, that's what I was thinking too. Really weird to find one of these little ones this far northeast." He absentmindedly gave the little deer bunny a pat on the head before Chiron spoke again. Shaking his head at him he gave a response, "Nah, but I'm guessing it's been awhile. So this little one here was once a girl?"

He gently lifted her up to eye level and looked into her eyes. "Wassup?" He gave a big smile and settled her back into his arms. "Cool. So, what should I do with her boss? Found her in the forest, looking pretty frantic about being there alone. Plus, I don't speak small cute woodland creature, so I can't understand her." He gave a shrug of his shoulders and looked down at Chiron again.

[Chiron]

Chiron nodded his head as a sad look took over his face. "Sadly, yes. This one was a girl up until a few weeks ago. She broke her oath and Artemis turned her into a jackalope right there into the infirmary." HE sighed as he shook his head. "The gods are not to supposed to meddle in the affairs of demigods, but I guess Artemis thinks she's exempt since she has her band of Hunters with her."

He rolled back into his room before he turned his back on the Hermes boy. "I don't know what the best course of action would be for her," he sighed as he dropped his head a little. "She is too naive to be on her own. I think her boyfriend was trying to take care of her, but I do not know if he's capable if she hopped off on her own." He sighed as he closed his eyes. "You can try to take care of her... but it might be best to return her to the boy. There is no hope for her to be human again unless a powerful Hecate kid walks into camp."

Zeo looked down at the girl turned fluff in his arms and frowned. He didn't like this one bit, love is something to be cherished, not crushed and destroyed. His opinion of Artemis wasn't very high at the moment, especially if she would do this to one who followed her without question. "It's not right Boss. It just isn't right. Love is something to be cherished, a little hypocritical coming from me I know, but still." He sighed as he tried to find words.

Shaking his head he walked into the office to place some papers on Chiron's desk. "Here's my proposal for the thing we talked about last. Look it over and I'll be back later. Where is this one's boyfriend? I'll take her back to him, I can't care for this girl. I'm too irresponsible for that Boss. She'd probably be more comfortable there anyways."

[Chiron]

"You're not the only one who thinks that," Chiron sighed as he shook his head. "After this incident, and several incidents before that, Artemis and Aphrodite are at odds at each other. A war won't brew between them, not with the Usurpers wanting their end." He sighed as he glanced over his shoulder at the Hermes boy. "But I think Aphrodite would agree with you. What Artemis did was wrong. Very wrong."

His eyes moved over to the papers that the boy laid on his desk. "I already told you that..." He sighed as he shook his head again. "Never mind. I'll look it over." He pushed his wheelchair over to his desk. "And the boy is in one of the Minor cabins. Pasithea if I remember correctly." He dropped his head as he muttered. "I just wish this would resolve soon. She doesn't deserve a life being cared for as a pet. Not for love. Not for that."

[Zeodyme Delacross]

Zeo nodded his head at Chiron as he spoke. He gained a cheeky grin as the lady Aphrodite was spoken of. "Perhaps the lady and I should discuss the finer points of love together in the future then. I would love to have a talk with her." He laughed, mostly to himself. He turned on his heel to head out of the office and out to the cabins. Glancing over his shoulder once more at Chiron he nodded and spoke once more. "You better look it over, I had some help with this one. Athena's daughter was very helpful with my notes. Thanks for the help Boss, I'll see you around."

Walking out of the office he closed the door behind him before he looked down at the furry bundle in his arms. Nodding his head he walked out of the big house and down towards the minor cabins. "Well little girl, furry woodland creature, thing, looks like our adventure together is almost over. Now you help me find this boy of yours and I'll try to find a way to get you out of this. I'll see if any satyrs have found a Hecate kid that smells strong. I think we still have one satyr here at camp. Anyways, here we are, point me in the right direction." He was right, they had arrived at the cabins and he was just going to wait for her to point him in the right direction.
