Teddy sat on the outside steps of his new cabin, his pack of cigarettes was in his hand. He turned the pack over in his hands for a moment before pulling a smoke out and placing it between his lips. He fumbled in his pocket looking for a lighter before his fingers finally brushed it, and pulled it out. The son of Athena looked at it for a moment wondering whether this was his moment to quit when he shrugged to himself and flicked the lighter to light his cigarette. He breathed deeply, already feeling the nicotine calming his nerves. He felt he was allowed to do whatever he wanted to calm himself down right now. He was just told that his absent mother was actually some greek goddess, that he had a bunch of other people related to him through his godly side and there was of course that he was still not over his father's death from a few months ago.

Teddy couldn't help but feel a little angry as he sat there, but he breathed in more of the cigarette and began feeling a little better. He just wasn't sure he could go into the cabin behind him and face a whole group of people he was supposed to be related to.

Accalia was a little surprised to smell cigarette smoke as she started to walk by the Athena cabin. That was new. She turned to face whoever was doing it to tell them to give it a rest, but then she stopped. She had never seen the guy before, and she looked really upset... now what? She looked away from him for a second, trying to decide if she wanted to try and be nice to the guy or just stick to her bitter, hard-hearted self. She sighed, knowing what she was going to do no matter how hard she tried to be a tough guy.

She walked over to him slowly, "Hey um... do you need any help?" Um? was she really reverting back to that bumbling fool of a girl she used to be who let people walk all over her? No. Not today. She crossed her arms as she stopped a few feet in front of him. "I mean, this isn't really a smoking area," she said, sterner than her initial greeting.

Teddy was so caught up in his thoughts as he inhaled the cigarette that he had no idea that anyone was even in the same area as him. He was staring at the ground trying to work up the courage to go inside and face his new family. It was because of this that he didn't realise someone was approaching him until they spoke. He looked up, eyebrows raised in confusion as the girl started off concerned before becoming stern with him. "Uh ..." He blinked before looking at his cigarette and back at the girl, realising his mistake. "Sorry," The son of Athena put out the cigarette on the ground by his foot, keeping the butt in his hand so he could discard it later. "I didn't mean to upset anyone." He told her as he looked back up, a shy smile on his lips.

Lotus had remember her brother wanted her to go visit him. So she had walked to the Athena Cabin. As she had aplroached it the smell of smoke filled her nose andshe wrinkled her nose up for a moment."well that sure is a ddifferent smell"she said to herself.she looked to see where it came from seeing someone new then she glanced to Accalia and knew she hadn't met her before. The daughter of Aphrodite was quiet now wondering if she hould bail on her brother who was a son of Athena or just come bck snother time. She shrugged to herself and walked over"hi i hope im not intruding"she said giving a slight smile.

Great, now Accalia felt bad. Well, she deserved to. She was acting so bi-polar, it's no surprise that the boy was confused and felt a little bad himself. Accalia sighed, "It's okay... I just worry about the plants, you know-" she tried to come up with some lame excuse as to why she was acting so callous. She kept her arms crossed but started rubbing them a little as she tried to soften her tone, "What I mean, is, I'm Accalia. Daughter of Demeter, and obviously bi-polar," she tried for an apologetic smile.

The tension broke due to a girl randomly approaching them. Accalia cocked an eyebrow at her, "Uh no, not really." Accalia wasn't really sure what else to say to the girl, so she just turned back to the guy she had been tormenting with her attitude a moment before. "But really, did you need help with anything? You must be new here," she asked him--trying to remember her initial concern.

Teddy was mildly confused by the girl in front of him. Why was she worried about plants? He wondered to himself as he watched her rub her arms, tilting his head to the side as he wondered. He wondered if she was being serious about the bi-polar thing or figurative to explain her sudden change of tone with him. Either way it didn't really matter all that much. "I'm Teddy." He told her with a hesitant smile, before realising that there was now something he was supposed to add to that. "Uh, son of ... Athena..." He added, the words feeling foreign in his mouth.

He looked over at the new girl with a hesitant smile, starting to become nervous from all the attention. "Uh, no. I'm just ... trying to collect my thoughts." He told the first girl, Accalia. "I'm sorry, I didn't realise that smoking was such an issue here." He tried to joke looking between the girls, trying to lighten the mood.

Lotus smiled relaxing slightly glad she wan't interupting anything."Oh ok"She said."Nice to meet you Teddy and Accalia"She said smiling some glad to meet more people."I'm Lotus Daughter of Aphrodite."She said. She decided to hang out outside her brother wouldn't mind she was sure. She blinked and smiled "well its not much of an issue for me i'm sure others are"She said. She felt a strand of her blonde and brown hair faill in her fce and she simply moved it behind her ear."so your new here right Teddy"she said figuring from how her had said who his godly parent was.

Accalia shook her head with an apologetic smile, "It's not that big of an issue really..." she said a little hesitantly. "But there are a lot of younger campers, little kids, so it probably isn't the best idea. But hey, it isn't a big deal. I could-we could just talk to Chiron about designating an area or something," she was starting to babble now, her mind was getting ahead of her. Everything she had said was true, however, at least in her eyes. The younger kids couldn't handle secondhand smoke as well as adults. Granted, this was a pretty large area, the smoke wouldn't hang in the air for long.

When she realized he was sort of joking she blinked, but her smile didn't widen. She glanced at the blonde, "Lotus. Wait brings you to the Athena cabin?"

Obviously Teddy was not as good at humour as he thought he realised as Accalia began telling him why smoking can be at least a but of a problem. Though it got him thinking, he hadn't seen anyone younger than maybe 15 but he supposed that a lot of kids lives had probably been uprooted by this whole gods business. He looked over at Lotus as she spoke, "Uh, yeah. Is it easy to tell?" He asked, a half smile on his lips as he fidgeted with the butt of his cigarette in his hand nervously. He hated when he wasn't allowed to smoke when he was already feeling uncomfortable and stressed.

Lotus was quiet for a moment expecting her brother to come out of the Athena cabin but she then looked to Acallia. She was quietly before she blinked realizing the point she had about the younger camper. The daughter of Aphrodite then blinked when she asked why she was at the Athenna Cabin and she blinked"well my brother which..we share the same father he wanted me to come meet him. He's a son of Athena"She said adding the last part in just to clarify why. She then looked to Teddy"well it wasn't obvious but i could just sorta notice the unsurness in you voice as you said you the son of Athena"She explained with a simple smile.

"That's... your dad must be a popular guy," Accalia said in awe at the daughter of Aphrodites words. What kind of guy was good enough that the goddess of LOVE and the goddess of WISDOM wanted to have kids with him? He must have been a really cool guy, but that was too weird for Accalia to think about.

She watched as Teddy played with the cigarette in his hand, almost as if he wasn't sure if he could keep smoking it. She chuckled a little and pointed at it, "you know... if you already started you may as well finish that off," she said, trying to sound a little nicer but probably just sounding like she thought he was stupid. Yup, Accalia had basically forgotten how to be a nice person. Which was working so well for her.

Teddy, looked down at the ground. He wished that he knew more people or places around here so that he could make some excuse to leave and find somewhere private to smoke. He tapped the cigarette against the step he was sitting on nervously as he listened to the girls, not bothering to look up. He couldn't help but wonder what Lotus' father had that his father didn't that would have attracted two goddesses. He pushed the thought from his mind though because it made him too sad. The son of Athena looked up confused at Accalia when she suggested that he finish the smoke. He glanced down at it for a moment before looking back up. "Uh, no I'm okay. I'm just going to throw it out when I find a bin." He told her, rolling it between his fingers again.

Accalia felt a sigh escape her lips, folding her arms even tighter over her chest. Now she had done it, he wasn't even going to finish his own cigarette. She tilted her head to the side. A part of her was curious, of course, of what a cigarette was like. But she was a lover of plants, and didn't cigarettes hurt those? She shook her head once, brushing off the idea for before taking a step away from him. "Here, I'll show you one," she said, gesturing for him to follow with a little nod of the head.

Teddy rolled the cigarette between his fingers again, awkwardly looking down at his hands instead of making eye contact. He didn't know why he was feeling so awkward. The whole situation reminded him of when his dad had found out about his smoking. A tiny smile played at the corner of his lips at the memory, his father had been a funny combination of confused, angry, understanding and accepting that had meant that he was told off for smoking at the same time he was directed to where he was allowed to smoke. The son of Athena looked up at Accalia when she said that she would show him a place to smoke. A smile began to spread across his face as he got up from the steps he was sitting on. "Lead the way." Teddy smiled, indicating with his hand as he said so.

This was her chance to not be a total dick, and she wasn't sure if she was ready to take it. She had spent so many months in a bitter place, it was hard to remember what she used to be like. Still, at his words and his little smile, Accalia felt the sides of her mouth tug up a little bit. She nodded again, turning to lead the way.

She led him toward the forest, right near the edge away from the cabins. "Do you mind going in?" she said, gesturing to the trees beside her. She didn't fear the trees, not even the monsters there. Most monsters didn't like smoke anyway, and she knew the perfect spot he could enjoy himself out of other peoples way.
