Lola raced back to Teddy, the ball in her mouth, she was almost tripping over her paws with excitement. The son of Athena placed the cigarette between his lips as he bent down to wrestle the ball from his husky puppy. It was nice to finally have some space and be able to smoke in peace and play with his puppy. He finally got the slobber covered ball from Lola's mouth and after shaking it around for a moment, he tossed it across the beach. Lola turned and chased after it, kicking sand up at her master as she went. Teddy chuckled, walking after her slowly as he puffed on his cigarette. At least things were perfect for a little while.

"Again... you don't have to follow me everywhere! Go look around the camp! Make friends or something..." Milo said to his new dog, Odin. Sure, Milo normally loved dogs, but ever since he learned he could talk to them... it was harder to be around them. "Oh come on boss, you know Hecate would be miffed with me if something happened to you so I will stick by your side for now, until she says other wise." the dog said still keeping very close to Milo. They were on their way to the beach, Milo was hoping to have some alone time, but he didn't need his 360 vision to tell him that someone was already on the beach. At first he thought that some terrible smoke monster was sneaking into camp, but then Milo spotted the young man smoking on the beach playing with his puppy and he couldn't help releasing a sigh of relief. No smokey monster. Just someone sucking on a cancer stick. Milo realized that he'd been staring for a while now so he just smiled and made his way over to the young man. Milo recognized him from around camp, but he had never spoken to him before. The guy was kind of cute... in a James Dean, grunge, bad boy kind of way... Get a hold of yourself weirdo... this is not the time to be boy crazy..."Hey man... sorry didn't mean to creep on you... Im just glad you're not some terrible smoke monster..." he said then chuckled awkwardly. Odin seemed to shake his head in disapproval as he sat down next to Milo.

Teddy watched as Lola raced off to grab the ball before trotting back to him, taking a quick detour through the waves on her way back to him. I'm going to have to come back here more often the son of Athena thought to himself, enjoying the seclusion. It gave him time to think, and to smoke without offending anyone like he had outside his cabin the other day, he remembered with a frown. Lost in his own thoughts he didn't notice that as Lola got closer she acted weirdly, she became more alert, dropping the ball at Teddy's feet, losing interest in their game as she circled around him, looking at the other people on the beach before letting out a warning bark. That shook Teddy from his thoughts, and he looked around, noticing the boy just before he spoke. "Oh, that's okay." Teddy smiled a friendly half smile, taking the cigarette from his lips and tapping it before placing it back in his mouth. He couldn't help the confused look that crossed his face at the smoke monster comment. Is that a real thing? He wondered to himself, knowing his luck, it probably was. "No smoke monsters round here... That I've seen anyway." He chuckled to himself.

The look on the guys face told Milo that he had said the wrong thing. Really... you had to lead with the smoke monster thing.. he thought to himself as he continued smiling. The husky puppy that the guy was playing with was super cute. She seemed excited to be playing with her master. Milo glanced over at Odin who was now staring intenrly at the ball the pair had been playing with. He didn't seem very interested in playing with it though. He just seemed to be judging the other dog for even playing with such a thing. Why can't you be a normal freaking dog?? "Cute dog... Im Milo by the way. This anti social guy here is Odin." he said as he extended his hand towards the other man. Milo was trying really hard not to judge him for smoking, but every time he got a whiff of the poisonous smoke it made it harder not to think of his dad. Smoking cuban cigars was one of the Captain's favorite past times... but he couldn't think about that right now he didnt wanna seem like an emo weirdo right now. [ooc: since i can talk to dogs. you can have lola talk to me if you want!  ] |

Teddy certainly wasn't used to the idea of monsters. It all made him feel so weird the idea that monsters weren't just bad people, they were also real things that could hurt or kill him. He felt something bump his leg as Lola rubbed her head against him, bringing him out of his thoughts and into the present. His puppy had a way of knowing when reality was escaping him and when to bring him back. The look in her blue eyes almost said try and act like a normal human for once please before she turned her head back to the boy's voice. The son of Athena also turned back towards him, smiling. "Thanks." He stretched out his own hand out to shake Milo's, "I'm Teddy" He replied before letting go and pushing his hands into his jeans pockets before looking back down at the husky sitting by his right leg. "And this is Lola." He smiled again. Lola barked happily at the sound of her name before moving towards Odin and Milo to have a sniff and say hello.

Milo smiled as the boy shook his hand. He had a pretty firm grip which was nice. Milo was used to judging people's handshakes because of his dad. The Captain always said you could tell a man's worth by his handshake... Milo didn't really believe that, but still he couldn't help himself. "Nice to meet you Teddy." Milo then glanced at Lola and gave her a big smile. The beautiful husky inched towards him and Odin and Milo couldn't help kneeling down and petting the dog. Lola then said hello and Milo understood her clear as day. It was so weird that he could talk to dogs... but he was starting to get used to it. "Nice to meet you, Lola. You're so freaking cute." he said then continued to pet her. Hopefully, the husky wouldn't think he was weird or something, but it was nice to have a regular dog around him for once, unlike antisocial overprotective Odin...
Odin seemed to sense what Milo was thinking because he turned away from him looking rather annoyed. "Sorry about him, he's kind of uptight" he said then chuckled a bit. "So Im sure Ive seen you around camp... Athena cabin right?" Milo asked attempting to get to know Teddy more.

Teddy took another drag from his cigarette, blowing the smoke away from the other boy so it wouldn't end up in his face. He knew that most people didn't like that and he hated offending people. "Nice to meet you too." He replied, a small smile playing on his face. Lola yapped happily and thanked Milo, her tail wagging happily. Lola then turned her attention on Odin and moved around Milo to give him a sniff, hoping for someone to play with. Teddy simply watched, a smile on his face. His eyebrows lifted slightly at Milo's question, realising that he really doesn't pay attention to other people around him, having never noticed him before. "Uh yeah. What cabin are you in?" He asked, still confused by everything to do with the gods and such.
