Jeremie Malcolm Langley |
TRADITIONAL APPLICATION Face claim: Marin Lafitte - Age: sixteen - Camp: Camp Half-Blood - Sexual orientation: Homosexual - Relationship status: Single Likes-- Reading, chess, the piano, computers, techno, children, cleanliness, lapis lazulis, lilacs, the colours lavender and cerulean, and graphic novels. Dislikes-- Love letters (finds them impersonal), shellfish (he is allergic to them.), swimming (he isn’t the best swimmer), ovens (they just seem to hate him), ship hulls (this is both apart of his phobia of drowning and claustrophobia put in one) and pop music (Today's music isn't great). Strengths-- Hacking, tracking, computers, and taking care of things (animals, kids, etc.) Weaknesses-- Overprotective, a tad hot headed, workaholic and sometimes a little overly sensitive Fatal Flaw-- His curiosity Fears-- Drowning, claustrophobia, and spiders Preferred weapon-- A spear or a dagger Cabin-- Athena Allegiance-- Greek Personality-- With his talents in planning strategies and his tolerance for others, Jeremy is an outstanding leader. Though he not all stern he's actually a bit of a nerd, in what he has in book smarts and sometimes tends to forget that there are others that aren't as well adapted with computers as he is, able to explain them with ease but to a normal demigod they would need help and guidance to figure out what he is talking about. As a person, Jeremie is surprisingly upbeat and calm, he is also a perfectionist with a wide range of knowledge on many topics who values organization with a penchant for symmetry. And a friendly side to him, having an attachment to small children and keeps small families of mice with him for short periods of time, eventually releasing them into the wild as well a fondness to reading. He is often prone to laughter, to the extent that it sometimes hurts his stomach. He can be a tad absent minded at times, which can lead him to his own self-injury. As a leader, Jeremy takes personally the deaths of those under his command, as he cares for the lives of demigods feeling that they are victims of the Gods. He will go to great lengths in order to protect them, including disobeying the camp’s rules and orders. He is not one to take sides in arguments, even within his own unit. Despite others constantly complaining about weak members in a reconnaissance hunt, Jeremy insists that "every team member is crucial" if the entire group is to succeed and survive. He will never be belittling or make condescending remarks towards other demigods, even those under him. In turn, most demigods regard Jeremie with admiration and respect. Adding to his strength as a leader is his intelligence. He is capable of both elaborate, careful planning and improvised solutions on a whim. For a demigod possessing considerable power, Jeremy actually has a rather cautious demeanour. Instead of acting on a whim or making hasty conclusions, he often makes careful deductions before coming to a final decision. But despite his intelligent and calm demeanor, Jeremy is easily flustered and overwhelmed when confronted by the idea of romance as he hasn't much experience in it, he is also flustered when his plans fail or when can't comprehend or understand something, which can lead to his judgement to being clouded at times, but never causing him to act without thinking. Despite his perfectionism, Jeremie has really low self-confidence. He admits he is very dependent on others, which loops into a strong inferiority complex. He sometimes feels he needs everyone's constant approval to feel secure. Without anyone to tell him what to do or to depend on him, Jeremy feels lost and without meaning or value, admitting he often feels extremely weak and/or useless when compared to others, going so far as to describe himself as ineffective on his own, always feeling he need to take the lead. This has led him to take drastic actions in order to prove himself — though, thanks to becoming cabin leader, he has started to take initiative instead of letting others' words define who he is. It appears that Jeremy has taken this to heart, as he asserted himself against others. While Jeremy tries to remain composed, there are times where he lets his ever-changing emotion walk him into something he would almost never do under normal circumstances, which can also lead to a loss of rational thinking and completely random outbursts. His fierce desire to feel "strong" and have more victories as a leader even caused him to betray others trust and basic principles. When realizing how much he hurt others, Jeremy will apologize and try as hard as he can to set things right, working psychotically hard in order to counteract the damage he may have inflicted. Godly parent-- Athena - Greek Family-- Mother: Miria Schaeffer-Langley, thirty five, CEO. Pets-- A barn owl named Minerva and the occasional family of mice. Hometown-- Cupertino, CA, U.S.A. History-- Miria was born to Cynthia Schaeffer-Langley and Allen Langley. When Miria was a toddler, she and her parents were in a major car accident. She had barely survived, her mother protected her from being badly wounded, saving her life at the cost of her own. Miria doesn't have much recollection from her younger years; she was brought up by her father and when asked about her mother, her father would tell her how she loved her and kept her safe from harm. Miria grew up grateful for her life, even though her father didn’t have much, he raised her to be loving and caring. His influence worked and Miria grew up to be a very kind, passionate, and understanding woman and soon after she left her father she attempted to start her career as a painter. This is how she met Athena for the first time. Athena and her met when Miria was attempting her career as a painter, offering to paint portraits. Athena kindly refused the offer the first time but returned later that evening after seeing that she had no customers and thus Athena let her paint her portrait. Miria then asked her if she wished to join her for dinner, Athena hesitantly accepted her offer and they spent the night in a quiet little café chatting and laughing. Athena returned to the park to see Miria. Athene soon told Miria she had to leave, but promised the young woman she’d meet her again. Miria knew that the Goddess wasn’t lying and thus she waited for her return. Miria soon pushed away her attempt of being an artist and soon left off to collage. Though, originally Miria thought that she was only doing what her father wanted but she soon began to enjoy learning and college experience. A couple of years had passed and as promised the Goddess came back to see Miria, Miria couldn’t believe her eyes as the woman she met long ago had returned, she tried her hardest not to cry at the sight of her. Athena and her soon got reaquanted back at the caf where they first had dinner and soon after with Athena's guidance she helped Miria sore from the bottom to the top, Athena got her through her studies and, consequently, they fell in love. A few more years passed Miria had became a C.E.O. for a major computer firm and was everlastingly grateful to the Goddess. Miria had everything, she made it to the top and got a better life for herself, but Miria had this sense of loneliness as she couldn’t have her last desire met: a child. Miria so desperately wanted a child of her own but alas she was born sterile; unable to have any children of her own. Athena took pity on the woman she loved and granted her the one thing she couldn’t have, Shortly after Athena left to Olympus, as a parting gift to Miria, Athena sent her Jeremy. Since Jeremy was young, he grew up without a father figure in his life, so his mother dedicated herself to supporting their father-less household and her firm. In grade school, he developed an interest in computers from watching his mother. But because Jeremie was a demigod, his family was constantly being attacked by monsters, causing his mother to stress and worry for her sons well-being, though he felt that he was always putting her in danger and eventually when he entered middle-school, he had been living alone to keep his mother safe, having illegally overwritten his personal records stored in city authority's servers. But this didn't stop the monsters from coming. Sure, it protected his mother but left him at harm making it hard for him to stay anywhere for long, even his own home. Two years before he came to camp, Jeremie was a freelance hacker who aspired to challenge himself. He did this by targeting corporation that belonged to rich and used his hacking skills to bypass their security and send their stocks into free fall. However, he underestimated the company's capabilities to track and find him and was eventually chased down by a 'security' teams. Again, monsters did always manage to sneak up on him. After this horrible event Jeremy was fed up, he packed his things and left off to where his mother told him he'd be safe and where he'd be able to change the real world, instead of a virtual one but he would have to head to Camp Half-Blood, where after a few days he was claimed by the Goddess Athena. At camp, Jeremie spends his time in his cabin, a tad bit introverted and working, Jeremy spends most of his time in front of his computer screen, under the friendly glow of the screen. He spends most of his time programming, and will often go without sleep at night, all to achieve his goal. If not working, he is often conversing with others or training. He overall enjoys camp life but would prefer a happy life at home with his mother. Thus Jeremy wants to fallow in his mothers footsteps and invent tech to keep monsters away thus is why he is usually is found working in the Athena cabin, attempting to make his dream a reality. Rp Sample-- "Jeremie hummed under his breath as the son of Athena worked threw yet another night. His murky and tired grey eyes glanced to the clock. "Five A.M.... I was sure it was only two A.M.... Last time I checked.... It was hardly midnight." He chuckled lightly to himself. "Would it be even worth sleeping now? Or should I keep working?" He asked himself in a whisper tone, hoping not to wake anyone. "I wouldn't want to be a pest... Or to disturb anyone..." He mumbled, he'd never had anyone growing up and to know living with a bunch demigods of the same kin kinda baffled the boy. "Maybe working wouldn't be the best idea I've ever had...." He glanced to the blaring screen and slid the clam shell casing of the laptop close. "An hour will do... Then, back to work!" He announced in a whisper-shout which soon faded to a yawn. "Good night... Or Good morning I should say."" Name; Aaron/Squishy Time zone; MST |
