A quite place to read. (OPEN)

The son of Athena sat quietly in the vacant theater, to his right stood a mound of textbooks and to his left his laptop. He couldn't help but notice that no one ever came to the vacant theater so, he made it his quite spot to study and read. He found the Athena cabin to be a mess and anywhere else was just no place for him to get any work done, so he'd make his way to the amphitheater and work to his hearts content or in tell he got bored and missed some social interaction.
"Awh~" Jeremie stretched, letting loose a sigh of relief. "Peace and quite... Peace of mind." He nodded as he resumed his work.

Ash made his way down the path to the amphitheater with his bow in hand and his trusty backpack slung over one shoulder. He hadn't been at camp long but already he felt like he needed a break from what he considered the cramped, close-quarters environment of the Apollo cabin. It wasn't exactly that he found the living arrangement unpleasant or his cabin mates annoying Ash had just been on his own for so long now that he had gotten used to silence and having to depend only on himself. The idea that he had a bunch of half siblings running around was still new to him.

Oh sure he had a lot of things in common with them, he was finding out more every day, but it was going to take some time to learn how to deal with all these new family members he had never known he had and right now he thought a little fresh air while he string his bow would do him some good. Fortunately, there was the amphitheater.

The amphitheater was the only place that Ash had found around the camp that seemed to stay pretty empty most of the time. Unless some big event was going on people seemed to forget about it and that meant it was the perfect place to go for someone who wished to be forgotten for a while. It was for this reason that when he entered the structure and found someone had apparently gotten the same idea before him that the son of Apollo was a little surprised.

As he entered Ash glanced up and saw another guy, about his own age, sitting and apparently studying considering the pile of books that stood out beside him. Not wanting to interrupt this and having already decided that he would have to find another quiet spot to get his own moment of peace Ash turned to leave before he was noticed. As he did so however his foot dislodge a loose chunk of a stone step which went clattering away announcing his presence as clearly as if he had spoken. So much for going unnoticed.

Jeremie shot up, his eyes instantly glanced to the substantially larger son of Apollo. Jeremie was a little astonished to find another and it was interesting to him.
"Another had a same thought as I? Well! They can't be too bad if they think similarly to me."
He nodded, a bit of his own narcissism came threw as he announced it to himself.
"My apologies.... I didn't think anyone else was going use this place...."
He said lightly, not too sure what he should say. The boy did look like one Apollo's kinship, I mean the bow was usually a dead give away in most cases, maybe he wanted to use it for singing? Or acting? The Dionysus kids were known to do that from time to time. 
"I mean...  It'd be more likely that you'd use this place for it's intended purpose, I mean... Um..." 
He couldn't help but ramble, his thoughts trying to catch up to him, as he wasn't used to other people and just seeing another made it even harder for him to shut up, he started to pack away his laptop and books, his thoughts racing a mile a minute and due to such the son of Athena tumbled backwards down the theater steps, his fault, always managing to fall, trip, whatever he'd manage to do it just by walking. Joy. He'd made a fool of himself in front of another.

Ash sighed and glanced over at the other boy. He hadn’t meant to let this guy know that he was here and he was annoyed by the fact that he was now going to have to talk. Granted he wasn't shy but still, on a whole he preferred silent contemplation to social interaction any day. There was nothing to be done about it now however. The other guy knew he was here and there was really no other way forward than to make conversation.


"I didn't know either." He said in his usually mild tone of voice. His appearance had apparently flustered the other guy and that had been precisely what Ash had been trying to avoid. "I didn't mean to interrupt your studies." He continued on in a way that suggested his statement was less an apology for doing so and more the telling of a dry fact. Ash could find another private spot, somewhere else if he needed to, it was as simple as that.


Apparently the Athena kid had a different idea though. As Ash watched the guy began packing up his things in a hurry sounding more and more flustered with each second. He watched this display for a moment until, in his haste, the Athenian took a tumble. Luckily he didn’t look like he had hurt himself but Ash walked down the steps to check on him all the same holding out his hand to the other boy in case he needed some help up. “What are you doing? Why are you packing up?”

Jeremie was huddled in what look like an armadillo, his laptop wrapped and his arms as if it was more important to him than his own body being damaged. His grey eyes seem murky as he looked to the larger male. "I'm sorry...." He sniffled as his embarrassment level had started to hit max and with it he usually ended up getting teary eyed. "I mean... I'm sorry..." Jeremie was almost like a broken record, his glasses becoming fogged, and he soon glanced to his palm. "Um... Thanks..." He was finally able to break his trending apologies and take the others hand. 

"I... I was packing up.... I thought you'd be able to use this facilitate to it's proper function as I assumed you were one of Apollon's many kinship.." He removed his glasses as he used his plaid shirt to remove the light coverage off fog. "Well... It was a bit hasty for me to assume... For all I know you could be one of Ares or Zeus' kin..." He rambled some. "Oh! Where are my manners, I didn't even tell you my name..." The son of Athena nodded, offering his dominate left palm. "I'm Jeremie Langley, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintanceship."

Ash helped the Athena boy to his feet as he continued to apologize for the gods knew what. The son of Apollo wasn’t really used to having that kind of effect on people so he was a bit confused what all the fuss was about. ’Does he think I’m going to fight him for it or something?’ He thought to himself but kept his face impassive as he pulled the other guy up.

“I was just coming to restring my bow…” Ash said as he looked the Athena guy over. He hadn’t broken his glasses or anything and he seemed alright so Ash continued. “…and yeah I’m a son of Apollo but I didn’t mean that you had to leave. In fact, I was going to let you continue studying not make you get out.” He hoped his words would at least calm the Athena guy down. He wasn’t some bully that needed to be feared but perhaps this guy had some bad experiences to draw from.

Glancing down at the offered hand Ash considered for a moment, the unfamiliar left handed gesture throwing him off, and then took it in his own and gave it a single firm pump. “I’m Ash…” He said wondering if Jeremie was going to fly into another nervous frenzy. “Ash Bates and I don’t have any more right to this place than anyone else. You’re free to keep using it.”

Jeremie blinked some to the fist bump, soon doing his best not to chuckle. "I mean... I was expecting a hand shake but, this also works.." Man was the son of Athena doing his hardest not to laugh. It took him a few mins and pinching his side some to get him to stop but he managed. 

"So... I see you also saw that this place was open? I mean, I sometimes hear the kin of Dionysus use this place to party, but! That I just thought was a rumour." He said glancing soon to the bow. "Hey! Maybe you can answer me this, why is it called a 'bow'? Is it like named violin bow or is it like foreign word meaning of shooting?" He could have rambled for hours if given the opportunity, but a part of the young boy felt he was bugging the other, maybe it was the aura or something. "Oh... Sorry, I didn't mean to go on and on..."

Ash gave Jeremie a nod at his comment about the fist bump. He had never been much of a person for conversation and in fact much of his life revolved around keeping quite with his passion of hunting but that was okay. Apparently Jeremie had enough conversation for both of them, a fact that Ash became very aware of as the guy’s string of apologies suddenly transformed into a string of questions that were just as fast and a little hard to follow.

He decided to start with the simplest answer fist "I'm not much of a partier." As if there was ever any doubt about that. Most people thought Ash was too serious but he didn't think there was such a thing. The world was a serious place and the sooner people realized that the better. Of course that wasn’t to say that the son of Apollo never relaxed. His definition of relaxation was just different than most people his age.

As for Jeremie's next question Ash didn't really know nor did he care. He had never been very good at history and getting into discussions about why a certain thing was what it was didn't appeal to him. A bow simply was a bow. Why did it need any additional explanation? Maybe it was it was some kind of Athena thing. Ash wasn't sure but to answer the guy's question he gave a shrug.

Finally Ash decided to ask a question of his own. He wasn't usually the type to ask questions that he thought he already knew the answer too and he was already starting to get an impression of the type of kid Jeremie was but he went ahead and asked anyway just to be sure. “Are you always this inquisitive?”

Jeremie rubbed the back of his neck with his palm, as he tried to think of a simple way of asking. "Well... Yeah, I just like to see the answers, you know? It's fun to me, or just any other Athena kid... But I just like hearing the knowledge from others and gaining it for myself." He nodded, smiling some. "That's what I like, I also didn't mean to bombard you, with all of my inquires, I just can't really help it sometimes.. I know, I must sound weird or something." He laughed lightly, hoping this ramble wasn't bothering the son of Apollo too much.

“It’s not a problem. There’s no sense in apologizing for who you are.” Ash said dismissively. He didn’t really mind Jeremie’s talking, at least not at the moment, and besides, if it really was in the boy’s nature to be inquisitive then there wasn’t much Ash could do about it. It wasn’t weird and so long as the Athena guy didn’t mind Ash’s own quieter nature then they should be fine.

“If you don’t mind sharing this spot I might go ahead and string my bow here.” Since he hadn’t been able to sneak away there really wasn’t a point in leaving now if he could avoid it. Ash could string his bow here just as well as he could anywhere else. This being the case he decided to leave the question open to Jeremie since it was his reading that Ash had intruded on. “It’s not a complicated process and I can be out of your hair relatively quickly.”
