[Colt Elliot]

It took a lot of convincing and a few years to put a basketball hoop right by the Big House. Chiron was completely against it, but Colt managed to convince Mister Pony that some kids need sports, not arena time, to blow off some steam. It was only one hoop and a patch of concrete, but it was good enough for Colt.

He spent the morning working on free throws. Not that he really needed the practice, since he made each basket. The only thing he was truly practicing was not using his powers as much. He learned when he was little that he could will the winds so that each basket was made. He might of been a little too ambitious to make a half-court shot when he was 8, but it did amaze everyone.

He took another shot, but knew the ball wasn't going to make the hoop, so he will the winds to lift the ball just enough to make the basket. He smirked to himself as he heard the swoosh of the net as he retrieved his ball. He dribbled it back to the free throw line as he kept glancing out to the rest of camp. He really hoped that someone would walk by, preferably a girl, so he could really demonstrate his skills.

[Charlotte Low]

Charlotte swore that one day, one day she would get herself out of infirmary duty. She use to be cabin leader for crying out loud till she left for a few months. Now she was back to being treated like she was a new camper again. She had been working with healing magic for years and yet she was on nurse duty again. It was infuriating to the girl. She did as told though, she knew complaining wouldn't get anywhere. She walked out of the big house while tugging back on her beanie when she saw some guy shooting basketballs right next to the big house. So that was the kid Chiron told her about, the one that wanted a basketball court installed. He wasn't one of her siblings but the of course backed it, anything to keep other campers off the courts in the arena they they pretty much dominated but still, it irked her slightly.

She made her way over to the guy and cocked a eyebrow. He was clearly around her age, he looked like he also had a stick up his butt. "So you must be the one that convinced chiron about this new basketball court." she said the same time he threw, emphasizing the convinced part to match her skeptical idea of it. What was he? A aphrodite kid with early charmspeak. She could tell it wouldn't go it yet to her surprise it seemed to defy gravity and make it in. That made no sense, Charlotte knew all about wind fall and angles yet they clearly wasn't at the right angle and made it in. Strange.

Colt was pretty disappointed that nobody showed up right when he wanted them. He frowned slightly as he faced back to the goal and set up himself up for another free throw. During that time, he didn't notice that a girl snuck up on him and started talking to him just as he shot his basket. That messed up his shot and he almost didn't make his basket but he willed the winds just enough that it still sunk and made a basket. He breathed a sigh of relief as he turned to face the girl with a cocky grin on his face.

"Why, yes I did," he said as the corner of his mouth curved up to a slight smirk. "I figured the camp needed one." While he was talking to her, he made the winds push the ball over to his feet and he picked it up. "So people like you can admire this skill." He bounced the ball once before he shot another basket. It was nothing but net as it made a satisfying "swoosh".

[Charlotte Low]

Charlotte's cocked eyebrow just rested when he spoke. She actually laughed when he talked about his skill. Wow he didn't have a stick up his butt but he had his ego there. They needed to see his skills? "The camp doesn't need one there is literally always a basketball game going on at Apollo" Trust her, she knew. Sometimes they just didnt bother replacing the windows. Two could play this game. "I guess it makes sense though, gives you somewhere to practice where you won't get your butt handed to you." she said simply with a smirk. cocky people were fun to her, they got under her skin so she got back.

She forgot about his other shot, he clearly knew what he was doing because he had good form but still, he was too cocky and reminded her of one of her brothers that thought they were a god(full not part). "Admire your skill? Interesting tactic but doubtful."

"I know," Colt said with a cocky grin as his ball rolled back to his feet and he picked it up. "I've bested them at a couple of games of pick up. They're good, but I'm better." He decided to dribble the ball and work on some fancy footwork as he talked to her. But there was something about this girl... usually at this point, they completely adored him and hung onto his every word. But this girl... she was completely convinced that this Apollo cabin was better than him. They weren't. He knew. "Well, I'll tell you what," he said as his cocky grin got bigger as he stopped dribbling. "You invite the Apollo cabin over here and we'll see who's better. Or better yet. Have them appoint a representative so I leave them with a bit of their dignity."

[Charlotte Low]

Charlotte was usually a nice and polite person but this kid just rubbed her the completely wrong way. The only reason she was still standing there is she wasn't about to back down from the kids taunts. She actually scoffed when he boosted about winning against her siblings. She knew better though, it was in their blood literally. The angles, the wind adjustment, it all came naturally to most of them and projectiles were their specialty. Didn't matter who this kid was, there was no way he was as good as he said. A challenged was issues and she wasn't one to back down from a challenge, especially if it got mister cocky to learn to back down. Humility did some good.

She just calmly set down her back, taking off her jacket and throwing her hair up in a bun while speaking. "Eh they aren't here to vote but I think that their former cabin leader will make a nice representative." she said, a smirk playing off her face. "I don't care much for dignity or whatever but I don't back down from a challenge." she said and walked over, standing in front of he boy, unconcerned with his over dramatic dribbling, "unless you want to back down now"

"The former cabin leader, huh?" Colt said as a big smirk crept onto his face. This was going to be good. He could feel it in his bones. "Yeah... I think that would be good." He started dribbling the ball as he waited for her to get ready. He glanced up at her with a cocky grin as she asked if he wanted to back down. "Nah," he chuckled. "I think it will be fun playing against you. But how about this..."

He stopped dribbling as he looked at her. "How about we sweeten the pot here. If I win, you'll go on a date with me. Deal?" He waited for her answer before he held out the ball to her while asking, "Ladies first?"

At least his confidence was consistence. He seemed pleased that Charlotte was a former cabin leader, like he thought he could beat her but most cabins didn't understand that basketball was how they settled debates in their cabin. Needless to say she had plenty of practice. He was way to cocky and now she had a challenge on her plate. He was going down.

Then he got in front of her and she rolled her eyes at his proposal. Figures. "A date?" Gross. She probably looked physically disgusted at the idea but she had her pride fighting her. She knew she would win, she couldn't loose, and it wasn't just her it was her cabin as well. She took challenges like this very seriously when she was cabin leader and that didn't stop now. Not if she was going to get her respect back. "Fine. This just means I won't go easy on you then." she said, taking the ball from his hands and going to the half court, looking back him "You are gonna regret lady's first" she said smirking before starting to dribble and running in, ready to go straight in and make sure she won.

[Colt Elliot]

Colt almost laughed at the face the girl pulled at the mention of the date. He would show her. He would win this game and take her on a date and show her the wonder that was Colt Bronco Elliot. And after that date, she would be falling head over heels for him like all the other girls in this camp. He smiled as he took the ball away from him and went to half court. "Oh, I know I'm not going to regret this," he said just as their little game began.

They agreed the first one to 15 points would be declared the winner. Colt thought this was going to be an easy one, but this... her name was Charlotte he found out a few minutes in... Charlotte was good. But Colt was determined to be better. He was determined to get that date from her. They were both tied at 14 points and Charlotte was about to take her shot. Up until this point, Colt didn't use his powers, relying on skill, but he figured if he was going to get a date, he had to make an exception. She took her shot and Colt willed the powers so her ball rolled around the rim of the basket a couple of times before it fell out.

Colt quickly recovered the ball and made a basket before he turned to Charlotte with a cocky grin. "And I think you are going on a date with me," he said with a bit of a laugh.

Sweaty forehead? Check. Lined up the angles? Check. Wind? Perfect. It rolling and falling off the side? NO CHECK. Charlotte stood there in confusion and anger. That wasn't possible! She lined up everything that she had in the shots before, it should have been in the hoop. Now of all times! She looked at his smirk and frowned. "Thats- Thats not possible!" she said angrily. No she wasn't a sore looser but that just made no sense!

She remembered the shot she saw before and then now. Her shot was dead on to make it in. She knew a shot that wouldn't make it, like the one earlier, even though it did. What had gone wrong? It was almost as if one factor pushed it away from the basket. His cocky smile made it all worst, a date with this cocky jerk! What did she get herself into, after all he was the one who wanted the date, he had to raise the stake, she was gonna win to!

"You cheated! I don't know how but you cheated, you had to that shot was right in the line." She huffed, crossing her arms across her chest. "Who is your parent anyways?" she said with a cocked eyebrow. She knew in her gut something was wrong with that last shot.

Colt loved the look on Charlotte's face when she realized she lost. It almost made his victory seem that much sweeter. His cocky grin got a little bit wider just before she accused him of cheating.

"Me? Cheat? No..." he laughed as the ball rolled back to his feet and he picked it up once more. He couldn't wipe that cocky grin off his face as he bounced the ball a bit. "Why would I need to cheat? That ball wasn't going in anyway."

But she figured it out, so he figured he had at least the decency to tell her about his godly parent. "It's Zephyrus. And I think you have a date you need to get ready for." He winked at her as he chuckled. "So, I'll pick you up at seven at your cabin?"

Colt cheated. Zephyrus, of course it had to be one of his kids. Charlotte cursed the damn god, she cursed Colt for being a no good cheat. Hiding behind his freak powers, then again she also used her abilities to help her. He must have used the wind to control the ball off course, it was the only way that made sense. She sneered at him as he spoke about his deal. "Can't get a date without playing dirty can you?" she said, livid at the boy.

She made a deal though. This was going to be the worst night of her life ever. She glared at him, walking past him and purposely shoving his shoulder as she did. "7 exactly. One minute later and it's off." her voice was cold as she took down her hair, grabbed her bag and walked away before he could get another word in. One more smart comment from him and she would have punched him in the face.

Colt couldn't help but smirk as he could tell she was cursing everything once she completely found out. His mind couldn't help but wonder if she would still be cursing him like that later if she happened to find herself in between his sheets. "Nah, I can get a date without manipulating the winds. I just needed to do it for a cutie like you since you don't seem to give me a chance, which is something you and I would both regret."

He had to choke back a chuckle as she glared at him and shoved his shoulder as she walked past. "Wouldn't dare to be late. Just prepare for the best night of your life!" he called out to her as she left. He chuckled to himself as he grabbed his basketball. He dribbled it a couple of times before he made another perfect basket.
