Roast, to be roasted. Logan knew the term well, and he liked it in pretty much any context. Roasting as in comedy and as in coffee. Needless to say the coffee was more prominent to the young demigod though. He wanted to be a actor but chances were that it was going to be a long process for him. It didn't matter to Logan anyways, he just wanted to have fun. Most people thought of him as a loner or a prick because of his sense of humor but in all reality he just had a dark sense of humor and he would rather be with the people who got it.
He always woke up early, no matter the day. He liked the sunrise and the strong coffee, which as only really good after it was freshly made in the morning. He was sitting in the amphitheater as the sun rose, warm coffee keeping the cold winds away as he drank. He imagined what it would be like to preform here. Crowded , filled with campers all laughing at his jokes and his acting. There was nothing more he wanted but he knew the reality that he wasn't going to be a lasting name in history, he was just another demigod with another dream.

The stars were shining when Zachary opened his eyes but they were always shining in the Nyx cabin. Blinking a couple times, he turned around to lay on his stomach to look at the clock. Half an hour till sunset, he had really managed to sleep at night. Hopefully it wouldn't be too bright today maybe he could actually try to act like a decent human. He tried not to laugh at that thought before he got dressed and after a moment of hesistation used his ability to shadow travel to leave the cabin. He had goosebumps all over and shivered a bit afterwards but it wasn't because it was something new for him; it was just the fact that it made him remember who he was and he hated that.
The boy decided to stroll around as long as it still was at least a bit dark. It was that time of the morning when you couldn't tell if it was still night or already day as the sun seemed to hesistate on the sky, unsure whether to rise and shine, if it was worth it. A question he asked himself quite often, probably everytime when he left his bed. And he did leave his bed and got up to live another day even though the answer was always no. He pulled his Ipod out of his pockets and plugged in one ear bud as he continued to make his way through camp.
'So give me all your poison, and give me all your pills, and give me all your hopeless hearts to make me ill. You're running after something that you'll never kill, if this is what you wanted then fire at will', the music played in his ear and Zach sighed lightly. Maybe he should listen to music that was more upbeat, maybe it would put him in a better mood... Maybe everyone who told him that just needed to get their butt kicked. Somehow his feet carried him to the Amphitheatre and he looked around. One lonesome other demigod. Something was different about this morning, because usually he would just go and search a place for his own somewhere else, but today he just sat down next to the guy and tried to start a conversation.
"'sup?"

Why didn't life come with a 'what to do' for every situation. Logan determined he was going to write it if being a actor didn't work out. How to handle someone saying the like you, how to cook ramen, and what to do with random stranger come sit next to you and say sup. He needed that book asap. He was vaguely aware of the other person while he played with his cup, but it wasn't till he sat down next to him that he truly saw him. And all he could think was De Hades. Needless to say he was surprised.
Okay, brain reset in three, two, one. "Um.. Hey" How eloquent. You could do better than this Logan, get you head out of your arse. He gestured to the steaming cup that still rested in his hand, thank gods not all over his pants from the surprise. "You know, Coffee, Sun rises." In his defense he normally didn't need to deal with people till about his 3 cup of coffee. "What are you doing up so early? He could do this, Maybe.

Zachary eyed the victim of his radom need to converse. No, he wasn't good with people but at least he didn't seem to be the only person in the conversation who was socially retarded... And maybe the first thing for him to do was to be nice to the person in his thoughts so he could act nicely. He looked up at the sun and felt lucky for a moment that it wasn't the moon shining in his eye, because like that they stayed brown as they should be and didn't shift in colour. "Exciting", he numbled quietly at his first words.
"Right now? Talking to a random stranger", he replied in the usual monotone tone but there was a hint of amusement in it, hidden but it was there. Zach was making fun of the other person, not obviously but still. "I could ask you the same, honestly. Apparently you're staring at a blazing star that is an astronomical unit away from earth that would kill us all if it comes closer" That was about as nice as he could be and besides those was the highest amount of words he'd talked to anyone except Bella Donna for quite some time so the boy better feel honoured.

Chalk this up to a strange morning. Logan listened to the fellow camper that strolled into his morning coffee. He seemed very mono-toned and un-ironic. Usually these types of people bored Logan, well they were more like Robots than humans. There was something under his words that Logan recognized though. That just irregular sense of humor that he could sense. "Aren't random strangers suppose to be dangerous or whatever." he said simply. Logan, dangerous? As a breeze.
He actually chuckled at the boys words. "Quite the optimist aren't you." he thought about it for a second before shaking his head. " 'sides, if it was a milometer off from killing us we we deserve to die. Human adaption has failed us." He said and laughed. "Besides even if it didn'tkill use we'd have to deal with all the Apollo and Hephaestus kids telling us 'its not that hot' "

"You don't make a good random stranger, in that case", Zachary stated simply and shrugged, staring up into the sun. Maybe he should like the sun, just to rebel against his mother.. But he knew he couldn't. "Optimism is overrated. I'm realistic. That's healthier and you aren't let down too often." He almost fell off the stair he was sitting on, when the person next to him laughed. Laughed. He thought he'd screwed up already, but no, he was laughing. And he knew how to deal with screwing up but he didn't have the slightest idea of how to deal with someone who was laughing about his words. The son of Nyx stared at the guy next to him, thinking about canceling this random talk but then his words caught his interest because they were kind of true.
The hint of a smile appeared on Zach's face, a rare expression for him. "Oh, another optimist", he noted and looked at him, eying him for a moment, listening to him, still a little startled by the laughs in between his sentences. "If it got close enough to not kill us but still be even hotter than that, I'm saving up for a giant fridge to hide in. Or a bunker, let's see what's less expensive. Maybe you'd fit in there too." Wait, what? Something definetly was wrong with him. "But even if you did, you'd probably have to stay outside because I don't share", he added and facepalmed himself mentally.

Another optimist? Might as well make the the meeting of non optimistic optimist. Logan looked a t the boy slightly intrigued by his small smile. Seemed like it wasn't a normal appearance, at least this not for him. He seemed like the type to speak to a skull and listen to nothing but fall out boy. Then again some could say the same about the loner Dionysus kid. Logan listened to him and cocked a eyebrow before realizing what was going on. Ah the kid had about as much social skills as any rock he could pick up off the ground.
"Nah I think I'll either get myself one of those foil hats or accept death with a warm embrace. I hear Thantos is quite the looker anyways." he joked with a small chuckle to himself. "I think I could accept a fiery death. As long as it was something cool. I'm more likely to die of boredom one of these days anyways."

Zachary looked at the boy and snorted before he stared at the sun again. It was just a star and yet it was slowly clear for him that it was definetly the opposite of his mother's domain as the light was stinging in his eyes. Out of stubborness he looked at the rising sun anyway, just for the same reason he had his crossbow for; to show that his mother didn't mean anything to him. "Tin foil heads... Wouldn't that make the heat even worse?", he asked sceptically and slightly gave in by looking at the ground.
"Isn't a fiery death the opposite of cool? If the sun would move farther away from earth, that would be a cool death because we'd all freeze except for the Khione kids maybe", he stated simply this time without a hint of a smile or laugh or anything. Zach was just plainly making statements. "I'm Zachary, by the way", he added after a moment of consideration. He'd talked more to this kid than he had to anyone in the past year or so, so maybe it was time to give away his name.

Logan laughed at his joking around. This kid, Zachary he said, wasn't that bad to be around. He guessed that there weren't that bad, at least to randomly interrupt his coffee break. Logan needed to be more social though, well in theory at least. Being social would be better for his comic dreams, in order to tell jokes he has to talk to people after all. "Very true, going out as a huge ball of flames is actually the opposite of cool." he said with a small smirk "I think I'd rather burn to death than deal with the Khione kids. They literally are cold hearted and I'd rather not get frost burn in all the wrong areas." He said with a over dramatic shiver "i'm Logan" he said simply with a nod of his head. "Nice to meet and talk about the end of the world with you"
