He could tell he had Cleo pretty rattled and maybe that was a good thing. If he was going to be trying to change her opinion of herself maybe she needed to be in a frazzled state of mind. Change happened when people were out of their comfort zone. He wasn’t sure if that was in some book of really wise people quotes but if it wasn’t then it should be. Of course whether the change was good or bad could be left up to interpretation but he would be guiding things along the way so he was sure things would turn out alright.
Luckily Cleo seemed to be willing enough to take a chance. That was good. You couldn’t really have a good time if one person was intent on being a stick in the mud. Fortunately that didn’t seem like it would be a problem today. Hooking his arm under Cleo’s in an old fashioned and obviously comic attempt at being gentlemanly Theo began leading her back towards camp. “I think we shall.” He said with a chuckle. “First lesson: While easy to freak people out it is much more fun to tell them what they think they want to hear. Let me tell you about this one time I convinced a kid to wear a horse shoe around his neck for a whole month because that was what his great great grandma wanted him to do. He was walking with a hunch after week one and I got twenty bucks…” As they left the forest he continued his story hoping she would get a few laughs up of it. In any case he thought this would be a pretty fun day for both them.
