The Nyx cabin was dark, naturally so, with wall sconces blazing with dim fires along its stone walls. Most if not all Children of Nyx could see perfectly in darkness, the gentle light was only to allow for a balance between the dark and shadows and to give some light for those not yet used to the dark. There was no obvious door to get in and out, only the shadows which allowed those with the ability to Shadow Travel to enter, and a hidden door behind a book case that went down into a tunnel and then up again near the fire pit for those who had not yet learned how to travel through darkness. For the most part it was rather clean but for the usual clutter on the floors, clothes, books, some equipment and the occasional candy bar wrapper or empty potato chip bag. It really had not changed since Bella Donna had been a camper here. Once upon a time this place had not at all existed, back some 50 years or more before all of the gods, minor and primordial were recognized by the camp but when it had been built long before Bella had come great care had been put into it. From the outside the Nyx cabin looked like a circular building with a dome overhead but no windows or doors. The Dome looked as if it were made of stone from the outside but on the inside it was made of crystal glass. It had been designed by Hephaestus campers during the building process to become transparent at night and allow an unobstructed view of the night sky over Camp Half-Blood, during the day the transparency became solid but the crystals continued to project a real time night sky image from the other side of the world. At all times overhead the children of Nyx could gaze up at the dark sky, the stars and the moon, gaze upon their mothers cloak, their world. The inside of the cabin looked bigger than it did on the outside, large enough to contain two large camper rooms one for boys and one for girls, two other separate rooms for councilors/cabin heads and a common room with comfy couches, chairs a few book cases (and the secret entrance), and an entertainment system build into the marble wall.
Jasmine lurked along the darkest of shadows in Nyx cabin, moving from under one bunk to another in her cattish stalking manner and skittering along the walls out of the firelight. There were no mice in the cabin, no pests for her to hunt and eat but it had been a very long time since she had been back in this place. She needed to reacquaint herself with the territory while Bella Donna set up their room in one of the empty councilor rooms. The Sabertooth Kitten’s eyes sparkled mischievously as she moved from one room to another and back again with silent lightning like speed. None of the campers inside seemed to notice her even if though most if not all should have had perfect sight in darkness. No she was used to sneaking around in the dark, she was after all the pet of one of the children of Nyx. She liked to stalk and sniff about, to pop out of nowhere and bellow her loud but adorable kitten roar and make people jump. She knew better than to disturb some of the sleeping campers, some of the Children of Nyx had a hard time being up during the day, it was understandable as their mother was the personification of night, but the kitten had no problem playing hide and seek with the ones that were up. As she snuck silently into the boys room and padded under the nearest bunk the cats eyes locked upon her next target. His scent was known, they had met quite some time ago and he had one of her favorite toys… shoe laces…
“Raaaawwwwrrrrr!” The sparti kitten bellowed, and though she was only as big as a miniature bulldog her roar, like her purr, was echoed loudly. It was not the fearsome bellow of her adult form but it was thunderous. At the same time as she roared she leapt from under the bunk and latched her mouth onto the foot of one @zachary, her long teeth immediately tangling in his shoe laces as she practically mauled his foot though not in a way that would hurt the human.
(Sorry for the lateness of this post. I had no internet for the last few days.)

The inside of the Nyx cabin was just as always, the same way it had been for the past five years Zachary had already spend here. This was the place where he'd spend more time than in any of the foster homes he'd been before, it already seemed so used. Somehow it was ironic how much he liked it here, under the ceiling that looked like the night sky and he knew that he shouldn't gaze at the stars for too long because then he would admit that he was his mother's child. When the light of the stars reflected in his eyes, his heritage wasn't deniable anymore as they seemed to have a deep violet colour, the colour of an uncut amethyst. It was bright day outside and all he wanted was to sleep but everytime he closed his eyes and tried to, he was haunted. In the quiet he heard his twin sisters voice and he knew that it would never let him go. There were days when it seemed like he got over it, like the memories finally stopped haunting him but then there were times like the last few days when they just didn't seem to go away. When it was like he was 13 years old again and only days had passed since he'd been the reason for her death. In those times it didn't make sense to try to sleep. He wondered if it even made sense to live at all because even when he wouldn't, nobody would miss him that much. Most of his halfsiblings only knew his name and had seen him around but they never talked to him more than a few words. The other campers wouldn't even realize that he was gone if he was. But there was that small spark of hope that everything would change for him and everything would get better, so he couldn't leave. The boy sat up on his bed and got up to his feet. He put on his shoes because if he couldn't sleep he could go outside and try. The sun bothered him but it would preoccupy his mind when he was outside.
But something made Zachary hesistate. It seemed like a shadow moved and in the matter of a second he was alerted. The thought that someone would attack him in Camp Halfblood inside the the cabin was rather far-fetched but it was his instinct that kicked in and his instinct wasn't rational. Then he heard the growl and the next second a kitten was trying to eat his foot. "Get off me, you stupid lit-", he began to yell at the animal when he stopped. This wasn't a common kitten. It was a sabretooth kitten and he only knew one instance of those that could run around Camp and if he was right that was one of the best things that happened to him lately. "Jasmine? I didn't realize it was you!" His instinct was telling him to forcefully kick the kitten through the room but now after recognising her, he couldn't do that. "Is she back?", he asked while the hint of a smile flashed across his face, a thing that would startle everyone who'd ever seen him around Camp as Zachary wasn't one to smile. He pushed the kitten away, took his shoe and waggled it in the air to make the tangled shoe laces move. "Here, get them", he told the sabre before pushing the shoe away underneath one of the beds to occupy Jasmine. Quickly he put off the other shoe as well and left the boys' room. Shadow travel would have been faster but he didn't like the idea of using his powers if he didn't have to. Honestly, he even used the more or less secret door to enter the cabin instead of just shadow traveling. He stopped in front of the doors to the councelor rooms and listened for a second to find out behind which door his half sister was.
Then Zachary knocked and hesistated just a second before pushing the door open. "Bella Donna?", he asked and looked inside the room, just to see his half sister in there. She was probably one of the very few persons who he actually liked and he hadn't seen her in quite some time. Someone probably had told him that she would be back in Camp and he would have known but he mostly didn't listen when anyone listened to him. But seeing her standing there, back in the cabin, was something that brightened his mood drastically. "You're back", he noted dryly but not as monotone as his voice usually was. For someone who knew him it should be clear that he was delighted by the presence of @bella.
(I'm sorry, I ramble. A lot)

The voice made her jump. She could not help it she had her mind on so many things that she had barely been paying attention to her surroundings other than putting clothes away and such. On top of this the young man’s voice was not completely familiar too her and as she turned it took her a moment to place the face with the voice and the memory. He had grown up so much that he wasn’t the same kid she had found so long ago and brought here. When realization did hit her smile brightened like one of the stars twinkling in the roof above them and she threw down the pair of socks she was folding and moved to embrace her half-brother. “Zack! By our mother you have grown!” Unlike Zack Bella had a close relationship with Nyx and their mother was one of if not the only god amongst the Olympian pantheon that she completely respected so it was usually to or by their mother that she made such exclamations. She hugged Zachary tight whether he liked it or not then stood back and appraised him. The boy had become a man, he was now taller than her bit a little bit and his features had chiseled out some with the loss of childhood softness. His eyes still seemed to flash between a mortal color and the violet of a child of Nyx which meant that inside he was still not totally accepting of his heritage. That was sad but she could understand his feelings, she pretty much always had. Aside from their familial kinship they had another thing in common, they had both lost a sibling, that special person who seemed to complete them. Bella had worked to grow stronger in honor of her brother Nicholas, Zachary had become morose and distant but both suffered from their losses inside.
She brushed his black bangs out of his face and sat on her bed. “Yes I am back. I was called in to take over for Anna” Anna Munroe, Daughter of Ares, had been her best friend when they were both campers and had become the camps head combat trainer when they had ‘graduated’. Anna and Bella had been through a great deal together and they had kept in close touch even after Bella had left camp to peruse a life in the outside world. Anna had died a week or so ago in a training accident and had asked that Bella be called and offered her position as the only one she trusted to. Bella sighed at the thought of her friend but pushed back the sadness. She had cried for her lost friend already and though she still mourned she needed to be strong now and to prove she was worthy of the position she had been given. She could not let the campers see her sadness not even one as close to her as Zack. Instead she smiled and patted beside her on the bed for her younger half-brother to sit. “And what about you kid…” She smiled gently as she used the name she had called him when he was younger after she had found him. “…keeping out of trouble?” Actually she kinda hopped he had been getting into trouble… it would be different and perhaps better for he was always so morose and solemn, the darkness in his soul was so strong but it didn’t make him a monster as it did so many other Nyx children instead it seemed, at least in her eyes, to suppress him and make him a great deal more miserable than he needed to be. His life wasn’t as bad as he seemed to think and he had every opportunity that any other demigod did. She had thrived despite the stigma of their family. Yes they were feared and mistrusted because their mother was more powerful than the other gods, because she like Gaia, Oronos and Tartarus was a primordial god born from Chaos itself. That however did not mean that with some work they could push past the stigma and the darkness inside them to achieve both normal lives or great things for themselves. She wished Zack could see that. Placing her hand on his she held it gently and squeezed encouragingly. “You arnt alone kid… you never have been.” She could not read minds but it wasn’t really all that hard to guess what Zachary was thinking and feeling. She had seen it with him before but she would always stand by him and help him if she could.
