He stuck out his bottom lip in a pout. "But if I sleep then I gotta close my eyes which'll mean I can't see you..." He whined, squirming down so he was face-to-face with her. He planted a kiss on her nose and then frowned. "Am I a bad person?" Mickey asked, brow furrowed in worry.

"Because I think you can do a lot better but I still used my powers and I took advantage of you before..." he said, voice tainted slightly with regret. "I don't want to be a bad person. I don't think I care, though, which makes it worse. You're just so gorgeous and then I'm just a damn asshole," he finished, rambling a bit. His chest ached. He knew he treated everyone terribly. He felt himself do it. He had broken more hearts than he could count and couldn't remember the majority of them. What was wrong with him? Why couldn't he feel anything?

Jessi smirked a bit as Mickey continued being mushy gushy. It was nice seeing this side of him, even if he was still drunk. "You still need to sleep," she insisted, but then he went off on a tangent that caught her off guard.

Jessi blinked at Mickey's sudden confession as her mouth dropped open a little bit. She moved to prop herself up onto one elbow as she looked down at him. Her mouth opened and closed a bit as she tried to process what he just said. It had to be the alcohol talking. It had to be. That would only explain... she didn't know he had feelings like this! After opening and closing her mouth a few more times, she finally said, "Mickey, what are you getting at?"

"I just wanna care, you know? Like I've never given a shit about anything... I wanna know what that feels like to care 'bout someone more than myself. 'Cause I don't really matter. If I died tomorrow it wouldn't even matter." he slurred sadly, shaking his head. He pushed everyone away because he didn't want to commit, but all that left him with was nobody. His dad never cared and he had never even seen his mom so it was clear he didn't give a single crap. Anyone that had ever cared enough he had ruined. "Imma piece'a shit.."


He refused to cry, though. Drunk or not he had never cried since he was a small child. Crying was weak. Crying led to all sorts of things he didn't want to think about. He grinned weakly at her, shaking his head. "It doesn't matter though," he laughed. "Nothing matters."

A slightly panicked look flashed across Jessi's face as Mickey rambled about not caring and people not caring. She never been on this end of the drunkenness. Hades, she should've been drunk hours ago if Mickey didn't drink her booze and kept her preoccupied. She bit her lower lip in thought as she tried to make sure that he didn't cry. She definitely didn't know what to do if he broke down into tears.

"Hey... hey..." she said soothingly as she reached out to stroke his hair. "It's okay. It's okay. I care for you." She knew she really didn't care for him in that way, but it was something that he needed to hear at that moment. "You matter. It's okay... you should get some sleep, okay?"

He sighed, closing his eyes as her soothing words brought him down. She cared. He didn't believe her in the least, but at least she cared enough to lie. People only lied for two reasons, to deceive often for their own benefit or to protect the other person. Mickey assumed she was doing the latter considering his current state. Besides, what would she get out of telling him she cared? Unless Jessi was just trying to shut him up.

"I know you don't mean it, but thanks anyways." he sighed, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close. Even if she didn't give a crap at least he had her to hold close. He rested his lips on her forehead, kissing it softly. "Don't go. Even if I push you away, please don't." he mumbled against her skin. What he was talking about exactly was debatable. He didn't wait for a response, drifting out of consciousness.

Jessi laid back down on the bed as Mickey pulled her closer. She raised her eyebrows at him. Was she really that bad at lying that even he could see through it in his drunken state? She smiled softly at him as he kissed her forehead softly. She raised her eyebrows when he asked her not to go. "Mickey... what do you..." But before she could answer his question, he was fast asleep.

Jessi rested her head on the pillow as she watched Mickey for a few moments. What was he getting at? Not going even if he pushed her away? What in the Hades did that really mean? She decided not to worry about it as she closed her eyes and joined Mickey in dreamland.
