Two Pink Lines (Mickey)

Mickey made her cry. And six weeks later, he made her cry again, but this time she was in her bathroom. She had collapsed on the floor holding a test in her hand. She was six weeks late and she now knew why. She knew that Mickey needed to know, but she was scared to tell him at the same time. She spent hours in there as she cried out her heart. It was only when she was completely and emotionally numb that she left her bathroom and sought out Mickey.

She headed straight to the Aphrodite cabin. That would be the first place she'd find him, no doubt. She kept her arms crossed over her chest and her head down as she made her way to the cabin. Once she got to the porch, she knocked on the door, hoping he was home.

Mickey had 'sexiled' his cabin mates yet again. Dakota wasn't there to yell at him and besides it was midday. It's not like his siblings needed to be in the cabin. The girl he was with though was extremely loud... Not that he was complaining. The Aphrodite kid took a bit of smugness in making his lovers moan and scream. The surrounding cabins weren't as pleased with his work, but they had certainly become used to it over the past few years. Everyone sort of had the 'Well, Mickey is at it again,' attitude. If they told him to quiet down he'd just join in on the loudness. The pink Barbie house was certainly making quite a bit of noise today.

He almost didn't hear the knock on the door, thinking about it twice before deciding to answer it. He stopped mid-thrust to his companion's annoyance. She squeaked out some plea to keep going which he graciously ignored. The boy pulled up the boxers that had traveled down to his ankles and sauntered over to the door in his usual cocky fashion. It was all he was wearing and yet the thin fabric did little to hide his erection. He opened the door slightly, losing his goofy grin as soon as he laid eyes on Jessi. 

His first instinct was to hug her. Second thought was to slam the door. The third was to cry. Fortunately, he managed to keep his instincts under control. Unfortunately, his response wasn't that great. "Hey," he said awkwardly. Fucking hey? Really, Mickey? He hadn't seen her in six weeks. Well, he had seen her of course, but only for fleeting moments around camp. And, while he'd never admit it, he missed her like hell. Not just her body, but every bit of her. Her smile, her laugh, her smell... Gods. "What are you doing here?"

Jessi was too preoccupied with her own thoughts to really pay attention to the noises coming from inside the cabin. So she didn't notice that the noises ceased the moments before the door opened. She breathed a sigh of relief that Mickey was there, but her heart panged when she only saw him in boxers and there was a naked girl just inside the cabin. She adverted her eyes as she looked back at Mickey. She readjusted her arms over her chest as she bit her lower lip nervously.

"Hey," she said back as she felt her eyes begin to well up with tears again. Not now. she told herself as she took a deep breath to fight them back. "Listen..." she said as she had to catch herself from choking back at sob. "I know you're... you're busy but I really need to talk to you... it's really important, Mickey."

Something was wrong. He could see it in her eyes and the way she held herself close as if she could fall apart at any moment. "Uh... Yeah, sure." he said after a long pause. Maybe he should have just said no. Turned her away and been done with it. But she was about to cry and he just... couldn't do that again.

"Come in I guess?" he opened the door wider and stepped back to let her pass. He had gotten so lost in thought that he had almost forgotten that he had been in the middle of something. With someone. Who was still there. He reluctantly muttered an apology to the girl who yanked on her clothes, glaring at Jessi all the while.

"Sorry about that... I wasn't really expecting you." he mumbled, closing the door as soon as his hook-up stepped out of the cabin. "Are... Are you okay?" he asked, brow furrowed. If she had ignored him for so long something had to be wrong.

Jessi was ready to be rejected like she was back in her own cabin six weeks ago and started thinking of ways for him to hear her out, but Mickey must have caught on how important this was. It was really important. She gave him a sad smile and nodded her head as she stepped inside his cabin. She realized that his hookup was still in the cabin. Under better circumstances, Jessi would've checked the girl out, but she adverted her eyes as the girl got dressed and walked out of the cabin door.

But soon as it was just the two of them in the cabin, Jessi felt the weight pressing down on her and she wanted to crack. She shook her head once he asked if she was okay as the tears welled up in her eyes. "I'm so sorry..." she whispered before she looked at him and the tears streaked down her cheeks. "Mickey, I'm..." she took a deep breath and choked back a sob before she said, "I'm pregnant and you're the father."

He wanted to comfort her at first. It hurt his chest to see her so distraught. He just wanted to wrap his arms around her and make it all better. But then her words hit him like a train. Mickey stared at her, blinking, trying to process what she had said. Pregnant. There was a lump in his throat. Pregnant. He swallowed. You're the father. Nothing but a dry mouth and a blank face. His skin was pale. He looked like he could pass out.

"That's ridiculous," he managed to get out. But it wasn't. He hadn't bothered with protection... Fuck. "Did you take a test? I mean, how do you even know that I'm...?" he trailed off. Pregnant. Her words wouldn't stop echoing, bouncing around his skull like a sick joke. He wasn't ready to be a father. Hell, he could barely care for himself. How could he take care of a tiny helpless baby? The boy didn't even know a damn thing about pregnancy.

Once she got those words out of her mouth, Jessi finally didn't choke back that sob and started crying in the middle of the Aphrodite cabin. How could she be so stupid. She got drunk practically every night that either she forgot to take her pill or its effectiveness wasn't that great. Either way, she felt like a complete idiot standing right there in that moment talking to Mickey about the fact that she got knocked up.

She looked up at him and sniffed a bit as the tears streaked down her cheeks. Did you take a test? Jessi slowly nodded her head. "I did..." she whispered as she squeezed her eyes shut as more tears poured out. "I did this morning once I realized that I was 6 weeks late with my period..." She took a deep breath as she tried to choke back another sob. "And you're the only guy I've been with since the beach, Mickey. I'm so sorry..." she muttered again as she broke down into more tears.

Oh gods. She was crying now and kept apologizing. Why was she apologizing? He wrapped his arms around her, a bit tentatively at first. He didn't want to upset her more. But having her in his arms again... damn he had missed her. He held her close, arms firmly around her as if he could somehow fix everything if he held tight enough. He felt numb. Mickey hadn't even fully accepted it. His mind was blank, ignoring the to-be-baby and instead focusing on comforting Jessi.

"We'll figure this out, okay?" he promised, though he didn't sound too certain of it himself. "Do you want to, you know... Get rid of it?" he asked nervously. He had joked about it in the past but the actual thought of having his own flesh and blood aborted hadn't become a possibility until now. But in all honesty he would rather it be terminated than deal with raising a child. He had never even held a baby.

Jessi tried to cry quietly until she felt Mickey's arms wrap around her. But once she was close to his chest, she forgot about crying quietly. She sobbed loudly as she felt her chest hurt. She was pregnant and Mickey was the father while they were both at camp. Chiron would kick them both out if he found out and there was no really true safe haven for demigods like them outside of camp. After a couple of moments, she calmed down enough to hear Mickey speaking to her.

She pulled away from his chest as she looked up at him with tear-filled eyes. "I... I..." she started to say before she choked back a sob before she pressed her lips and took a deep breath. "I don't know... I don't know if I want to keep it or not... this is all too much..."

The boy was never particularly good at being gentle in his words though. His arms dropped to his sides as he stepped away from her and began to pace. He needed to move. "Jessi, I can't be a dad. Hell, I don't wanna be." he stated as he paused in front of her, brow furrowed. "And how do I know you're not lying about sleeping with other people? Or even being pregnant? For all I know you've been on tons of dick." There was a strong possibility in his mind that she was screwing him over. Maybe she just wanted his loyalty. Like hell if he was going to be tied down. He had heard stories like it before, crazy chicks saying they're pregnant for love. He wasn't gonna be some idiot raising another guy's kid.

"I'm not gonna marry you or some shit just cus you fucked up your birth control. It's not my fault you're an alcoholic." His voice was raised, hitting a dangerous tone. He was getting pissed at this point, fists clenched. It's not like he planned for this to happen. Sure, he probably should've worn a rubber, but it was her job to keep her pills in check. He very rarely took responsibility for his actions, always playing the blame game.

Jessi's mind was racing. Should she get an abortion? It was expensive, but she didn't know if she could raise a child, let alone be a good mother. But those thoughts came to a racing halt as Mickey pulled away from her. She was about to say something to his first comment before his next ones hit her hard. She stood there slack jawed as the tears welled up in her eyes. After all those nights they spent together, Jessi thought he had a soft side. But he was just a jerk, like the other ones she managed to get herself involved with.

"Do you think I would want to trap you with a pregnancy?" she spat out at him. "If I was going to do that, I would actually do it with a decent guy, not some asshole like you. I just thought it was some common courtesy to let someone know that they're the baby daddy." She should've walked away, but his words were just fueling an angry fire inside of her. She knew when she was this angry, she couldn't control her powers and at this point, she didn't know she wanted to control her powers. She balled her hand up into a fist before she approached him and socked him right in the face. "Go to hell," she muttered underneath her breath as she glared at him.

There was so much venom in her words. He knew he deserved it though. Maybe he was just doing what he had always done; pushing away anything good in his life. It's like he wanted to be miserable. If you have nothing than you've got nothing to use. She came towards him, a anger in her eyes, but Mickey didn't back down. He knew what was coming. He expected it, bracing for the impact as she swung at his face. It hurt like hell and he quickly felt blood seeping out of his nose. And so he laughed.

He grinned widely at her, blood running down his lip and into his mouth. "What? Did you honestly think I was gonna be a good guy, princess?" he asked with a bitter laugh. "C'mon, hit me again." he egged her on, eyes glassy with the tears he held back. "Fucking hit me." Something had snapped. There was a look on his face that didn't seem quite sane. He wanted to be hurt. He deserved it.

Once Jessi threw her punch, she shook her hand lightly trying to make the slight tingly feeling go away. But she oddly felt satisfied. He did this to her and he deserved it. He should have been protecting the both of them anyway instead of assuming her pill was working. Well, she didn't have a reason to take her pill anymore. But seeing Mickey beaten up by her hands? It was very addicting and he was asking for more.

"I never expected you to the good guy," she spat back at him, but his words hurt with him calling her princess. A name she secretly enjoyed up until now. "You want more?" she taunted. She didn't notice that Mickey wasn't acting like himself. He was acting wilder than usual and there was tears in his eyes, but she didn't notice or care. "I'll give you more," she hissed before she aimed another punch right at his gut. "How dare you do this to me," she spat at him as she pulled away.

He nodded, tears overflowing and rolling down his cheeks, mixing with the blood as they met his lips. He stayed silent though, doing nothing as she spat and hissed like an attacking snake. He had been beat up before. He had been shoved to the ground and kicked. This was different though, because as much as he denied it he cared. In any other situation he would've fought back and taunted her. But he'd rather be slowly murdered than hurt her, let alone the baby inside of her.

Her fist made contact with his stomach hard, knocking the air out of him. He stumbled back slightly, clutching at his stomach. He took a moment, bending over and gagging like he might puke. He looked up at her from the vulnerable position, spitting out some blood before speaking. "Just fucking kill me, won't you?" he choked, gasping. "They don't deserve such a shit dad. You don't deserve such a shit baby-daddy. Make me suffer." He smiled weakly, wincing since his nose seemed to be broken.

Once she pulled away from Mickey, Jessi took a few steps backwards as she looked at him. Tears were welling up in her eyes and threatening to spill over. He was vulnerable and already taken quite a beating from her already. But what he said caused more tears to streak down her face. "I don't care if you're shit or not," she snapped before she backed away more. "It's better for this child to have a father than not have one at all."

She felt her heart slowly ripped out of her chest. She could feel another sob wanting to escape and she just shook her head as the tears kept streaming down her face.
