[Hailey Nichols]

They had a date for their game night… date. Was it a date? Hailey wasn’t quite sure, but she finally warmed up to the idea of spending more time with Theo, even if it was through the form of a date. There were worse things that could’ve come of it, right? A game night was the least of her problems at the moment and it was something she could look forward to along with chariot building with her sister.

And once again, Theo was up to his old teasing. Hailey smiled slightly as she tried to take deep breaths to not have her cheeks become bright red. She shrugged her shoulders a bit. “Just know that jackalopes really don’t like rabbit food. I mean, we’re part rabbit and part deer, so just keep that in mind.” She chuckled lightly as she shrugged her shoulders. “But I like candy and chocolate… and I’ll make sure to bring a broom too because Saphron will probably kill you if you really do bring out the streamers and confetti.” She nodded her head as she smiled at him. “I can’t wait for Saturday.”

[Theo Dean]

He wasn't sure but he was fairly certain that deer and rabbits were both herbivores. Did they eat different things? Theo decided it wasn't really that important but the joke did get a few chuckles from him. He wondered if he could find a way to change the appearance of whatever treats he procured for them into some leafy greens and decided he would have to check into it before the game night just for fun. "I think I can handle some chocolates and candy if that's what you like. As for that broom I'm sure Saphron will thank you and I'd you're lucky I may show you a pretty neat trick with it."

Watching Hailey he could tell that she was indeed pretty excited for this. He supposed he would be too if he had spent so long as a jackalope and it was then that Theo decided he would try his best to not let her down. It wasn't often that he went to so much trouble for a girl but he thought Hailey deserved this after everything that she had been through. "Unfortunately waiting is exactly what you'll have to do but if it's any consolation at least it will give you something to look forward to all week...if you can go that long without paying me a visit."

Hailey laughed as she shook her head. "When don't you have a trick up your sleeves?" she asked as she smiled at him. Maybe game night wouldn't be such a bad thing. Board games and candy and a couple of hours with Theo. What else could go wrong with something as innocent as that? But she had something to look forward to in a very long time. She laughed again as she rolled her eyes. "I think I can go that long. I think I can survive. I mean, my sister and I are..."

She paused mid-sentence as her eyes went wide. "Oh crap," she said as she reached to push her hair back. "My sister and I are building a chariot together and I needed too meet her... like ten minutes ago." She gave Theo a sympathetic smile as she moved towards the door. "I have to go, but I'll see you on game night, okay? Bye Theo." She gave him one last smile before heading out the door and heading towards the forges.

Theo could have honestly kept talking to Hailey for a while yet but that was nothing out of the ordinary because Theo liked to hear himself talk. Still, he also had the good sense to know when a conversation had reached its end. Hailey's sudden pause mid sentence and 'oh crap' exclamation let him know that this was one of those times. He wasn't exactly sure who this sister she was taking about was but it was obvious that they had something planned and he decided it was best not to keep her.

Theo watched as she got flustered at the thought of the missed appointment and chuckled a little as she made her hasty goodbye. He didn't get in much of a rush for anything but he was sure that whoever Hailey was going to meet would understand. The real question though was whether she would give them the real reason she was late or not. "Bye Hailey. I'll see you soon and say hi to your sister for me." Time would tell.
