[Accalia Phillips]

Accalia laughed, "she might have interrogate you and have her spies investigate. Your siblings probably encourage this sort of thing, right?" she guessed with a grin. Then she lifted a hand. "not to assume or anything, that just seems the norm," she had a thing for a son of Aphrodite in the past, and it was the same type of concept. He was not quite as friendly as Charlie was, though, and not nearly as shy. He was more of a big flirt... but, Accalua was a pretty decent flirt back then too.

She nodded at what he chose to say. It seemed a good enough answer to her. Simple. Good way to start. "Me too," she said, her smile softening, "it's quiet until the monsters come," she said in a matter-of-fact tone, then she scrunched her face up. "Yikes, that was a depressing comment, wasn't it?"

“Well, you're probably safe from their interrogating,” Charlie said with a bit of a smirk and blush as he looked up at Accalia. “Me, however, not so much. I know Dakota well want to know how this went. She's the one that insisted that I give you flowers.” He shrugged his shoulders as she chuckled, “I guess nosy siblings are a common thing around camp.”

But Charlie was completely caught off guard when Accalia made the monster comment. And he could tell she slightly regretted it. He held his hand up so he could show a small distance between his thumb and forefinger. “Only a slight bit,” he said with a chuckle as he lowered his hand. “It's really not that bad if you stick with the paths. The monsters really don't go near there.”

"Whew," Accalia joked when he said she was safe from his siblings interrogation. "Well, Dakota is a smart lady," she said when he mentioned the flowers were her idea. She nodded and rolled her eyes, "isn't that the truth. Not just nosy siblings, but nosy parents too," she said that second part softly.

She chuckled as he mentioned only a slight bit about the monsters making things not so fun. She nodded, "but isn't sticking to the paths defeating the point?" she grin mischievously, like she was getting an idea... which she was. She would have to see how he handled that last comment though.

Charlie smirked a bit to himself as he finished up his food. "Well," he said once he was done with his bite, "I think she'll be very pleased to hear that idea was good. I personally thought it was a bit of an overkill." But maybe he would take more of Dakota's advice, especially if it left an impression on Accalia. But at the mention of nosy parents, Charlie remained quiet for a moment. Nosy parents weren't really a thing that he knew of, since any sort of parent figure he had in his life didn't really care about him. But he didn't have to worry about it for too long as the conversation quickly changed.

Defeating the point? What was Accalia on about? He knitted his eyebrows together as he thought for a moment before he caught her mischievous grin. She was planning something. What that something was, he didn't know, but he was definitely curious to find out. He relaxed his eyebrows before he raised on at her. "So are you saying we need to venture off the beaten path?" he asked with a slight smile. He had no clue what he was getting himself into, but he figured that it was worth a shot.

Accalia laughed, "it's not overkill with a child of Demeter. Well, with most of us," she said, shrugging as she took another bite or too of her food as well. "I mean, with this one at least," she felt her cheeks heating up a little and cleared her throat, focusing on her food for another moment or two.

At her comment about the forest he knitted his eyebrows together and her grin stayed in place. When his face relaxed enough to raise just one eyebrow at her she leaned forward slightly to catch his answer. "That's exactly what I'm saying," she was surprised that he smiled slightly, but she went on, "I mean, in the literal sense, that the forest is stocked with challenges. Why stay on the path when there is so much to test your skills?" she chuckled then, realizing how this could be some kind of metaphor for life as well...

Charlie nodded his head and took mental note of what Accalia just said. Maybe he would have to bring her more flowers in the future if these not-dates continued. But he wanted to make sure they were from him, not something that was shoved to him by one of his siblings. He took a deep breath and took the plunge. "What is your favorite of flower by the way?" he asked as he tried to keep the blush on his cheeks from getting too red. "For future reference... so I can know if you'd like the bouquet or not if Dakota happens to hand me one again."

But this forest analogy that Accalia was going with was completely confusing him. Venture off the beaten path and face challenges and test your skills? It seemed completely out of the blue, but maybe there was something more to it and he wanted to find out what. "Accalia..." he said as he leaned towards her over the table a bit with a raised eyebrow. "What exactly are you getting at, because I think you lost me for a moment."

Accalia was surprised at his next question. She wasn't even sure if she'd ever been asked that... she was sure Jacob would have, right? But, it didn't sound familier. She cleared her throat, her own face blushing bright red as he said for future reference. "Daffodils," she said, "and Forget Me Nots. It's a close tie," maybe daffodils tickled her fancy a little bit more, but not by much.

At his confused question, Acclia leaned forward quickly, reaching out to catch his hands if they were there to hold, "Charlie," her voice was oddly serious sounding, "I'm saying we venture off the beaten path, like you said. Literally and figuratively. I'm saying we go fight monsters, right now, test our skills. I don't know many people, if any, who've done that on a 'not-date' before. I can teach you," she leaned back just a little, "if you need it, I mean. I'm just saying we need to stop being cowards," okay she was more talking about herself then. She finally released his hands, "I'm babbling."

Daffodils and Forget Me Nots? He really didn’t peg Accalia to be the type to like those kinds of flowers, but he also saw it in her at the same time. But he’d have to remember the next time his siblings decided he needed a bouquet of flowers. He thought it would be a tad bit more special if it was a variety of flowers she liked. But he didn’t miss the blush on her cheeks as he nodded to himself while a blush crept onto his cheeks. But Daffodils and Forget Me Nots. That was one mental note he wasn’t going to forget.

But the rambling that Accalia was doing? It was a bit confusing, but also exciting at the same time. “So you want to sneak out of camp?” he asked as he shifted in his seat a little bit. “Or do you want to head into the forest? Both have monsters, so I don’t know which one is better. I haven’t really gone up against a monster before.” But she was right; he never heard of people slaying monsters on a date.

Oh, they were a rather blushy pair, weren't there? Accalia continued to nurse her food as he responded to her with the questions. She grinned swallowing her most recent bite before responding, "well, I was thinking of just the forest but... we could sneak out of camp. Or we could just save that for our next date," she whispered, but then she chuckled, "I mean our next not-date." She was a bit worried about his not having faced monsters before... but she could handle it. "And all the more reason you need real life experience. I mean, maybe some training first would be good but... being thrown to the wolves is a good way to learn, too. Plus, we won't have to get close," she lifted a hand and a vine snaked around her ankle until it wrapped around her hand and shaped into a bow, "archery is my chosen form of attack. So, we can just stay back. What do you think?" her heart was racing and she was still smiling. What was happening to her? Need for adrenaline maybe? Where was Daphne when ya needed her.

Sneaking into the forest to face monsters? That was the complete opposite of what a date should be. There was a very good thing that this was already a not date. But still, he couldn't help but be a little worried about it, but also excited. He sat at the edge of his seat as he looked at Accalia. "We can do the forest," he said as he nodded his head. "I don't think I'm quite ready to go outside of camp... Plus I'm pretty sure my siblings would kill me if I got any monster blood on these clothes."

But the talk about weapons? Being thrown to the wolves? His eyes widened a bit as he watched her make a bow of vines before he muttered. "I've been training with a sword, but archery looks like it be good to learn too... It's never too late to learn, right?"

Accalias heart was racing as she awaited his answer. He was just so sweet, so innocent, that a part of her felt like it was her duty to teach him a little bit about this kind of stuff. Plus, adrenaline was good for bonding. He nodded and agreed that they could go into the forest and her grin widened even more. "No monster blood on clothes. Got it," she said with another little chuckle.

His eyes were widening at her words but she figured that would happen. She was being a bit... insane, in a way. He was trained with a sword and she nodded, "exactly. Never too late. Charlie Webster, consider me your official archery teacher!" she formed another, making this was a little sturdier as she stood from the table. Then she held it out to him, "come along, then!" she invited.

Charlie had no clue what he was getting himself into, but he was excited that at least it was with Accalia. This was a complete one eighty from what their supposed not date had begun. He had a feeling that his siblings were going to be slightly disappointed that he was killing monsters with a girl instead of exchanging saliva. And for once, he was completely okay with disappointing them.

He watched as Accalia declared herself his archery teacher and handed him another bow that she made. He nodded his head as he grabbed it from her and stood up from the table. "Let's get going," he agreed as he nodded his head and followed her towards the forest and whatever excitement or danger they'd find themselves in.

She was glad that he seemed a little more excited about this idea now. She giggled a little, guiding him into the forest. Once surrounded by trees she turned toward him, gently touching his arm. "Okay, the best place to get a good vantage point is from up high," she explained. "If we climb this tree, a monster should smell us pretty soon and then I can teach you out to shoot it. Come on," she wasn't necessarily in tree-climbing clothes, but she started to climb anyway.

Once in a good place, with a good spot beside her, she turned to make sure he was following. "You can sit right here by the trunk. I'll sit on the branch," she explained, grinning. Was she completely crazy? Maybe.

Charlie had to consider for a moment how crazy he'd have to be to follow a girl into the forest to go monster hunting during a not date. Right now, he wasn't looking completely sane, but he was still following Accalia deeper into the forest. He paused when she stopped and he almost jumped when she put her hand on his arm. Climb a tree and wait? It didn't seem too hard. He nodded his head a little too eagerly before he said, “Let's do it then.”

He looked up the tree and knew his siblings would kill him for climbing a tree in these clothes and, for once, Charlie thought his siblings could suck it. He climbed up after Accalia making sure not to look up her skirt or her rear for that matter. But soon enough, they were high enough in the tree and Charlie sat by the trunk like Accalia suggested. “How long will it be until they find us?” he asked as he looked over at her.

Accalia patted his arm softly when he arrieved and got comfortable, "good climbing! Okay, it shouldn't be too long... It'd be easier if one of us was bleeding," her eyes widened as she realized that this made her sound a little twisted and she shook her head, "but we can wait a little longer. No need for that," she corrected.

"Let me show you how to hold it properly," she started, lifting her bow and showing him the appropriate hand placements, "see? When you pull the string back you want your fingers right by your lips, just there," she reached over and tapped the corner of his mouth where it should be placed. "You try," she suggested, trying to ignore that strange fluttering that was making it's way through her stomach now.
