[Ebonie Hazle]

Ebonie laughed as he spoke about the superiority of his cereal. "I'll keep that in mind," she giggled. Then he spoke about breaking into the kitchens and learning how to cook and she raised a mischievous eyebrow. "Colt, are you suggesting that we take on the Harpies?" she joked before giving a shrug, "I think that'd be fun, though!" Ebonie was always such a little ball of energy that it was hard not to seem overly excited about everything, including this. He was hopefully starting to figure that out by now, though, even though they hadn't spent that much time together.

"The harpies aren't that bad if you know how to avoid them," Colt said with a mischievous smirk. "They only have the reputation that they do because of camp rumors. You're less likely to wander around camp if there's a big bad boogeyman wandering around camp... or, in this case, harpies." He chuckled to himself as he brushed off his hands before leaning back on them as he looked over at Ebonie with a lazy smirk. "But don't worry. I can get you a cooking lesson if you're not afraid of the boogeyman." He had to laugh before he nodded his head to her sandwich. "And you'd probably learn how to cook better than I can, but that sandwich is pretty hard to beat."

Ebonie raised an eyebrow as he spoke about the harpies. He seemed to know a bit about staying out late, she assumed, or rather how to deal with it. "Makes sense," she said with a small chuckle. She scrunched her nose at him as he spoke about being afraid and shook her head, "I'm not afraid, Colt. And the sandwich is hard to beat but... Maybe after a few lessons I can do the cooking," she mused. Then she finished up her sandwich and took another swig of her water before turning back to him with a small smile. "So, movie?" she said, glancing over at the screen that he and set up. Seriously, were all guys this prepared? She highly, highly doubted it.

Colt chuckled to himself as he nodded his head. "Then it's settled. Next date I'll get you some cooking lessons." He smirked as he took another bite of his sandwhich before he added, "That is, if you're up for a second date, I mean." He shook his head in amusement before he reached over to the basket to pull out a selection of movies that he'd borrowed from the Hermes cabin. Apparently they were movie fanatics in there. "You're pick," he said as he showed off what he had. "I grabbed a good selection of everything. I didn't know what you'd prefer for a date on the beach... but I probably should have picked more rom-coms now that I think about it."

Ebonie grinned as he agreed to the cooking lessons. Then he added the comment about IF she was up for a second date. Her face warmed for a moment before she shrugged, "well, depends how you do tonight, I guess," she teased, but she was already sure that she'd be up for it.

She leaned over as he pulled out the movies and looked through them as he offered that she pick. She shook her head as he said he should have picked more Rom-Coms, "they're not really my thing," she admitted, not looking up at him just yet. She pointed at a movie and grinned, looking up at him, "Ant-Man. One of my favorites," she said.

"Fair enough," Colt said as he nodded his head briefly. He would have to make sure that she loved this date enough to agree to a second date with him. And usually the thoughts of second dates didn't bother Colt, but the thought of a second date with Ebonie? He was more nervous than he cared to admit, but he tried to play it off as much as he could.

But now he was second guessing the selection of movies he brought. Sure he had the rom-coms in there, but did he really bring anything that would suit her tastes? He held his breath for a moment before letting it out. She liked Ant-Man? He chuckled a bit as he shook his head. "I love superhero movies and I haven't seen this one yet," he admitted sheepishly as he moved to get the movie started. At least that was one thing that went right with this date so far.

She felt like that 'fair enough' was more of a 'challenge accepted', and she was okay with that. She'd let him try, sure, there was no reason not to enjoy a boy trying to win her affections... was there? No, it was cool. The oracle thing wasn't a thing yet. She was still safe... ish.

Her jaw dropped as he said he hadn't seen Ant-Man yet. "Whaaat!? We must watch it. You'll love it. At least, I hope you will," once the movie was all settled into the player she got comfortable on their little blanket set up. She squealed happily, "this movie is awesome. I'll try not to quote it the whole time. Though, I've never seen it on a screen this small,"[/b[ she admitted. Then she regretted it. her family had lived in a mansion, after all...

Colt hung his head in shame as he shook his head. "Nope. Never seen it. I really haven't had a chance to either after being stuck at camp for so long." Not that Colt was truly stuck at camp. He just never wanted to leave a place where he knew there were a lot of pretty girls. But he chuckled before he added, "Well I'm really setting the bar low. Do I need to upgrade the screen the next time?" He hoped there would be a next time. He was really enjoying Ebonie's company. More so than he did with the other girls.

But they started the movie and Ebonie got all comfortable. Colt slid up next to her as he tried to get closer to her. It was a few minutes into the movie that he tried to pull a suave move by yawning and stretching the same time as he put his arm closet to Ebonie over her shoulders.

Ebonie giggled, "well, alas, at least we have it now. How... long have you been here?" she couldn't remember if he had already told her that. He didn't seem entirely thrilled about it, though. "Unless you don't want to get into that," she added quickly.

"Nah, this screen is great," she added, reaching to place a hand on his arm lightly before removing it back into her lap.

As they got situated, Ebonie wasn't sure what to do. She found herself leaning toward him as he found a place next to her and soon he... yawned? Putting an arm around her shoulders. She cleared her throat, letting the sound move her even closer to him. The movie started and, at first, she was trying not to laugh at it too much. She didn't want her body jerking around. But it was just so funny! She eventually did laugh, though, and she tried not to let it move her away.

Colt had to think about Ebonie’s question. How long had he been at camp? He shrugged his shoulders since hey question didn't bother him much. “I've been here since I was eleven, so close to six years. It's not that bad, especially if I have pretty girls like you to keep me company.” But he didn't mess up with the screen. That was good, but now he had to make sure not to screw up the next one.

As the movie played, they cuddled into each other, since Ebonie didn't reject his arm. He tried his best to watch the movie, but he kept glancing down at her, especially when she tried to suppress her giggles. It was cute, but he loved when she finally laughed as he pulled her in a little closer.

"Six years... long time," she muttered, her cheeks reddening at the 'pretty' comment. She assumed he had a lot of pretty girls who kept him company over the last few years as he was growing up. She felt a small pang of jealousy, then realized that wasn't at all warranted. She had just gotten here and... well, this was just a first date. Maybe the only one, but probably not due to their previous conversation.

He actually ended up pulling her closer when she laughed which made her cheeks burn again. The movie was nearing a close, it was the big battle scene at the end, when she turned her face to look up at him, but she didn't say anything yet.

Colt smirked to himself as Ebonie's face reddened. It was cute on her and it actually made him think that he had a chance with her for a second date. Maybe even more if he played his cards right. He really did try to pay attention to the movie, but he knew it was one of those that he would have to rewatch later by himself because he was distracted by the girl in his arms that he kept sneaking glances at. Towards the end of the movie," he looked down just to see that Ebonie was looking up at him. He smirked to himself as he took it as his cue. He reached over with his free hand as he tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear before cupping her cheek. And without saying anything, he ducked his head towards hers for a kiss.

He was reaching his hand toward her face and she froze, unsure what he was going to do. Then, he tucked her hair behind her ear and she breathed a little easier, until his hand cupped her face. Her eyes widened slightly as his closed and he leaned forward. She squeaked slightly and lifted her hand in a split second, putting two fingers against his lips. "Colt," she said in a high voice, then she cleared her throat and lowered it to a more natural place. "The movie is almost over," she said, and she turned back to the screen, fingers still on his lips, just in time to see the two characters in the movies kiss. She sighed, shaking her head.

Colt leaned in and expected to press his lips up against Ebonie's, but that was not what he got. Instead, he got two fingers instead. He opened his eyes and looked down at them with a puzzled expression. The movie was almost over, but she didn't want a kiss? He was assuming that's what she wanted when she looked up at him, but now he was guessing that he was wrong. And he could completely say that this is the first time he was stopped from kissing someone with fingers. He was still puzzled as she turned away to watch the movie, but kept her fingers on his lips. He frowned a bit as he gently reached up to move her hand away before he turned back to the movie just to see kissing. How ironic. But he sat there quietly for the rest of the movie wondering what he did wrong that Ebonie didn't want to kiss him.
