Astrid couldn't see well over all the things she was trying to carry as she hurried through the marketplace. Her feet tripping over each other as she hastened her pace over the uneven cobblestoned streets. She knew she shouldn't have stopped by the market on her way to the principia. She had a meeting very soon and she wasn't going to have time to drop off her things at her barracks and make it back there in time. And she'd forgotten to bring a bag, and completely underestimated how much she could carry. Her arms were piled up with new books, some fruit and pastries, a cute t-shirt that had caught her eye and the large coffee in the centurions hand that had started to go cold.
Breathing heavily and trying to make her way around people without being able to see them, Astrid thought she had to be nearing the principia and breathed a sigh of relief that she wasn't going to be too late. It was then, during her momentary relief that she crashed straight into another person, sending the contents of her arms flying. The fruit went rolling away, pastries crumpled onto the ground, books tumbled and the coffee exploded as it hit the ground splashing onto everything and everyone in its path including Astrid, the stranger and her new t-shirt.
Then to add insult to injury, Astrid realised she was nowhere near where she needed to be.
