[Hannah Nichols]

Audrey told Hannah to lay lower than usual, which irked her to no end. She wanted to parade around the camp pretending to be her sister, but Audrey was worried about letting the Usurper intentions being known. So instead of wandering around camp in the evenings like she was allowed to do in the past, she had to stay in the forest at all times. And at first it was fine, since there was several monsters she could hunt, but even that got boring after a few days.

So she was leaning up against the side of a tree as she was sharpening a stick with her pocket knife. There was no reason why she was doing this besides she was bored, but she had gotten it sharp enough that she could use it as a weapon. She heard a twig snap and her head shot up as she narrowed her eyes at the person in front of her. "What do you want?" she hissed.

’Gods dammit.’ Drew thought as he walked along holding his twitching right hand. ’The last thing I need is a flair up now of all times. His Huntington’s Disease had a bad habit of striking at the most inopportune times causing uncontrollable muscle spasms and making it difficult to do some pretty basic things for himself but did it have to come right in the middle of sword practice? Drew was no shabby swordsman, in fact, he was probably one of the best around camp but that didn’t do him a bit of good if his sword arm could become useless at any moment like it had today.

Not only did he drop his sword and narrowly avoid getting his arm chopped off but he was sure he looked like some kind of greenie who was bugging out after he ran off like he did. There would be questions when he got back for sure and questions were one thing that Drew didn’t like. He didn’t want the attention, didn’t want to be seen as weak and he especially didn’t want anyone finding out about his disease but he had no doubt the questions would come. Granted he could probably ice people out like he usually did but that wouldn’t make the situation any less annoying.

He supposed he would have to suck it up eventually. At some point he would have to go back and face everyone he had left behind at the arena but for now he was at least alone. He could spend a few hours out here, hopefully cool off and let this attack run its course and then he could go back on his own terms. He just needed to find somewhere to relax.

That’s when it happened. He wasn’t particularly trying to be quiet but he hadn’t really expected that he needed to be either. Apparently he was wrong because as he stepped on a twig snapping it under foot he suddenly heard a girl's voice snap at him from nearby. Just what he needed. Normally he wouldn’t have said anything but he was angry and maybe a little irritable from the flare up that still had his hand twitching and at the moment he had no patience for some territorial camper who thought they owned the damn forest. “Piss off I’m just walking here. Last I checked the forest was open for anyone so just lay off.”

Hannah glared up at the boy as she gripped both the stick on her pocket knife ridiculously hard that the stick almost broke in her hands. She wouldn't given it a second thought to give the boy a piece of her mind or introducing him to her knife, but she had to pause. This boy was a Usurper. She had seen him around the several meetings that the Usurpers had, but she never heard him say anything until now. So he was one of the few that knew that Hannah wasn't actually Hailey. But she couldn't help but notice that he was gripping his other hand like something was wrong. She made a mental note of it as she raised an eyebrow at him.

"I would check your attitude before you get wrecked," Hannah said calmly as she got up onto her feet. Her keep looking at the boy before she crossed her arms across her chest. "You know, monsters aren't the only ones that roam around this forest. You should know that more than anything," she said as a smirk crept onto her lips as she tilted her head to the side.

Drew did recognize the girl after he had a few moments to lets his irritation at her subside. She was one of the Usurpers though. He just didn’t know if that should be a comfort to him or not. He wasn’t really the type to jump right in and start making friends with any group let alone the other members of the Usurpers. He had his own reasons for joining the cause and would do his part but he couldn't care less about all the others. Still, at least it seemed like the girl had eased up when she recognized him as well.

Drew stuck his hands in his pockets. It was probably too late for things to go completely unnoticed but at least it would keep it out of sight for the time being and hopefully keeping it out of sight would keep it out of mind as well. He still didn't like her tone but what could he do about that? "I can take care of myself." He said not pausing to let the ice completely melt from his voice. "I'm well aware of who might be out here and trust me, if I had a reason to sneak around you wouldn't have noticed me. Sometimes though a guy just needs to get away for a while." He paused and watched her not liking the amused expression she wore one bit. He was in no mood for games, Usurper ones or otherwise. "What's your excuse?"

"Take care of yourself?" Hannah mocked as she tilted her head to the side and considered the boy. "Aren't you such a big boy? Mummy must be so proud of you." She doubted he would be honestly. Not if he was joining the ranks of the Usurpers. Pathetic actually. She ran her thumb across the blade of her pocket knife as she watched him. It was across the sharp it, but she didn't press hard enough to cut her thumb. Yet.

"My excuse?" Hannah laughed shortly as she shot a look at the boy. "Audrey wants me to stay hidden, because I'm bringing too much suspicion. Apparently there's a downside when you're identical twins to a girl who's been in the news lately because of who she tried or tried not to bed." Hannah knew that wasn't the complete truth, but she didn't have time for the complete truth anyway. She had important things to do if she wasn't stuck in this damn forest. "So it's all fun and stuff, but definitely not a reason why I would want to get away."

Drew's displeasure at being stopped by this girl only deepened when she began to mock him openly. The fact he was already upset by the events at the arena weren't helping but this girl didn't know the first thing about him and if Drew had anything to say about it he would keep things that way. Just because he was a part of this rebellion against the gods didn't mean he had to like those who he was working with and it looked like this one would definitely be falling into the not liked category. Still, he managed to bite his tongue for the time being.

She seemed to be in some kind of trouble from the boss lady judging by her statement. Drew hadn't heard anything about that but if she really was bringing too much attention on them then she was a danger to the whole Usurper operation and it was no wonder she was out here sulking in the forest by herself. "Well maybe if you could keep a lower profile she wouldn't need to pack you away out of sight. It helps when you don't fly off the handle at the first person you see."

Hannah smirked to herself as the boy seemed to bite his tongue and hold something back. And what he was potentially holding back intrigued her. She heard the rumors, whispers through camp, but this was something she needed to see first hand. But that would wait until the opportune moment. When he least expected it.

"Keep a low profile?" Hannah laughed as she narrowed her eyes at the boy. "Isn't that cute that you're giving me advice." An evil smirk crept onto her face as she looked at him. "I'm guessing you haven't been around camp long, but I don't do low profiles. Instead, I have done things that your nightmares are made of. So I'd watch yourself."

Drew rolled his eyes. Hannah was precisely the type of person he despised. She didn't know the slightest thing about him yet all she was concerned about was getting in a pissing match over who was the baddest of them all like it was some kind of badge of honor. Drew wasn't interested in that but it was one of the things that had him worried about the Usurpers. There were too many people here who only seemed to be a part of the group to cause mayhem and sometimes it felt like he was the only one here who was really trying to do what they were recruited for in the first place which was casting down the gods.

"Cut the melodrama." Drew said coldly. "It's embarrassing, not intimidating." Personally Drew didn't care what kind of nightmares this girl thought she had caused. He lived a nightmare worse than anything Hannah could concoct and the only thing less impressive then the girl's claims was the apparent size of her ego. "Get over yourself. We have bigger things to worry about than talking about spooky we think we are. If you can't see that maybe you should go steal some candy from a little kid since you're so concerned about looking evil.”

"Embarrassing?" Hannah snickered as she gave a short laugh. "Child, you're the one who's embarrassing. You know that naivety will get you killed. Why did you join the Usurpers anyway?" Hannah asked as she tilted her head to the side and crossed her arms over her chest. "Did you join because you wanted to be one of the cool kids? I hate to break it to ya, but you need to do a hell of a lot more if that is your goal."

She about had it with this conversation with this idiot who didn't know half the things he was getting into. She rolled her eyes as she sighed rather loudly. "If you're talking about Audrey's plans, then that's not what you should be worried about. There's going to be something more." She chuckled to herself as an evil smirk crept onto her face. "Trust me, I know."

Drew was quickly tiring of this girl and her grandiose claims. He had come out her to escape his problems for a while not have some obviously delusional and probably insane usurper girl try to frighten him with empty promises and meaningless threats. What was she trying to prove anyways? He didn’t know and he really didn’t care but the sooner he could be done with this conversation the better. If anything she was showing herself more of a threat to their overall goal than she was to him. “I have my reasons.” He said refusing to let the girl get to him. “And I couldn’t care less about whatever it is you think you have to prove.”

This girl was getting on his nerves but something she said did take him a little off guard. He knew about the plan with the Kraken, had even done his part to make sure things went smoothly when the time came, but what else was the girl talking about? Was this just another attempt to get him to break or did she really know something else that was going on here that not everyone was privy to? That got under his skin just a little but Drew made sure to carefully keep his thoughts guarded and his face expressionless. “Yeah? Well good luck with that. Until then keep your psychotic fantasies to yourself. That last thing we need is some whack job girl with delusions of grandeur running around and causing problems.”

The boy didn't believe her. Was he really that dense? Hadn't he heard of all the rumors that floated around camp? Almost ninety percent of them were true, but if he was going to just ignore them, then he had another thing coming to him. He was already on Hannah's mental list and he was going to regret being so dense and naive about the entire thing he was facing.

"Whatever makes you sleep better at night," she hissed before she was hit by an intense pain in her side. This wasn't good. What could she possibly have eaten that caused this? She shot a glare at the boy as she started to shuffle away. "We'll continue this conversation later," she hissed again before she went deeper into the forest in a full-out sprint.
