Brynn was still, for all intents and purposes, the "new girl" at camp... even though she had been here now for a couple of weeks. Had it been that long? It had to be her imagination, but to her, it seemed like time was almost nonexistent here. Not that it was a bad thing. It was just... different. She wasn't used to being around people who were, well, gifted like her. Granted, she hadn't run into any other Hecate children, but still, everyone seemed to have something that made them special. She knew she wasn't alone anymore. So then why was she?
With a sigh, she leaned back on her left arm, while her right gently scratched her wolf's head behind his ears. Dakota. The wolf who had come to her, who had brought her here. Pretty much the only friend she had in the place, as of that moment. A little smile pulled at the corners of her lips at the thought, unable to keep from giving a little laugh and a shake of her head. That statement, that her wolf was her only friend, was both amusing and depressing. Definitely not like her. But how did one just randomly make friends? Especially when everyone here was friends with each other way before she got here?
Maybe you should just throw yourself into some humans. Start a fight, and when you come out on top, you will have friends! Dakota suggested. Brynn smiled at the thought, bringing her hand from the wolf's head to pick up a a flat stone.
"I'm afraid the human world doesn't exactly work like that, Dakota," she said with a little laugh, then brought her hand back and skipped the stone across the water's surface. One... two... three... splunk. Her lips curled into a slight frown as she watched the stone sink. She could do much better than that! She reached down and grabbed another flat, smooth pebble, then brought her arm back... and tossed again. Five this time before it sank. Hmph.
"Maybe it's something to do with the water," she mumbled, huffing. "Since everything else here is very... strange."
