No Fear [Theo]

Hailey couldn't help but feel weird after leaving the Hecate cabin. It wasn't like the magic weird feeling she experienced several times, but it was a different kind of weird. She couldn't exactly put her finger on it. But whatever it was, there was a lot of thoughts in her head swirling around that she was thankful that her siblings were not home. She didn't want to their pestering while all she wanted to think. She had to face her siblings sometime, but she would deal with that when it came.

So she sat down on her bed as she put her elbows on her knees and her head in her hands. Hannah was on her mind, obviously, but Theo also made a couple of appearances as well. She didn't know how long she was sitting there before it hit her. It was like lightning had hit her and she jolted out of her spot. How come it never hit her before? All these years and it was right there in front of her. And she had to tell Theo and she had to tell him now.

So she was almost a whirlwind as she left her room and headed towards the door. She didn't know where she got this newfound confidence, but she needed to act on this before the spontaneity wore off.

This was definitely not the situation he had seen himself in a few hours ago. For all intents and purposes he had originally thought tonight would be about hanging out with Hailey, catching up with her and maybe even sharing some of that time together that they had that one wild night…but that was the kicker wasn’t it? He hadn’t really shared anything with Hailey. He had unknowingly slept with her twin sister and that…well it complicated things to say the least.

He wasn’t sure if going to see Hailey now would do anything to un-complicate matters but he had agreed to come find her after he had worked his curse on her sister. He had finished that up a while ago but he realized that he was going to have to face Hailey at some point and most likely the sooner he did so the better. Now he was standing in front of her cabin with the board games she had left behind in his place hoping to salvage something of this evening. Maybe if not what he had originally expected then at least a friendship.

Still, now that he had reached the Hephaestus cabin and found himself standing in front of the door he discovered that he unable to go any further. This was not his thing. Why did he feel such a responsibility to this girl and what did he hope to accomplish? He wasn’t sure but he did know one thing. He knew that he felt horrible for hurting Hailey the way that he had and he wanted to try and make it up to her…somehow. Sighing Theo raised his hand and knocked on the door.

She had to do this and she had to do this now. No other time would be better. All these thoughts were racing through her head and she had to act on them. How come she never realized this earlier? She knew that Theo was coming to meet her at her cabin, but she couldn't wait. She had to see him now and if that meant he was still in the middle of the spell, then she'll find him in the middle of a spell.

She was such in a rush to get out of the cabin that she didn't hear a knock on the door. So once she opened it up, she nearly ran into Theo. She barely stopped herself from bumping into him and the board games he brought over. Board games. Right. They were supposed to do that today. "I am so sorry," Hailey blurted out as she managed to catch herself from running into him. "Are you okay?" She looked up at Theo and blinked a couple of times before she realized that she was being kind of rude. "Do you want to come in?" she asked as she opened the door a little wider for him.

Theo didn't know what he had expected when the door to the Hephaestus cabin was flung open to meet him but he certainly wasn't expecting Hailey to come barreling out practically knocking him over. She probably would have succeeded at that very thing and it surely would have meant the end for one or two of those board games which had already seen one accidental spilling tonight but fortunately the girl was able to stop herself before she rammed straight into him.

Perhaps that was for the best because the unexpectedness of practically being run over did serve to help him forget for a moment or two why he was here. Instead it allowed him to react with a little more of his tradition flair than he probably would have been able to manage otherwise. "Woah there Hailey. Where’s the fire?" He said as he grinned at her with that lopsided grin he had. He wasn't sure where she was going but it must have been to see him as her rush to get past him stopped as soon as she realized who he was and she invited him inside. Theo looked at her for a moment seeing that she probably wasn't in a mood for teasing and that brought him back to the reason he was here. A very sobering thought.

"Yeah, I'll come inside. I uh...brought back your games." He said with a nod to the boxes in his arms and stepped through the doorway. Inside he took a moment to look around. He had never actually been in the Hephaestus cabin and he couldn’t help himself. Still, he couldn’t really forget that he had a very frantic Hailey just behind him. “You weren’t rushing out to see me were you?”

"Fire?" Hailey asked as she blinked for a moment or two. There was no fire. She just was in a rush to see Theo who was standing right there in front of her door. His attempt of humor went completely went over her head at that moment. But it didn't matter. Theo was here and with the board games. Oh gods... those board games... Hailey's confidence wavered just a bit, but she managed to hold her ground as she watched Theo come inside. She closed the door behind him as she looked over towards his direction.

"Actually, I was on my way to see you," she said as she nodded her head as bit the corner of her lips slightly. "I wanted to talk to you." But then she realized how bad that sounded so she immediately blurted out, "It's not bad... I mean... I don't think it's bad, but you might think it's bad... I don't know..." She took a deep breath to stop her rambling as she pointed to her bedroom door. "My room is over there if you want to sit down to do this talk thing..."

“Alright, alright.” He said going into damage control mode. He could tell Hailey was flustered and this was at least ground he was more familiar with. He had dealt with flustered girls before and maybe he could focus on that for a while instead of his own problems. “Just take it easy Hailey. I’m not going anywhere and if you want to talk I think that would be a good idea. It’s been a long night for both of us.” He smiled at her warmly and placed the board games off to the side for now. He wasn’t sure what Hailey wanted to talk about, it certainly didn’t sound like she was mad, but they were going to have to talk this out at some point anyways. He just hoped he could get her calmed down a little bit.

“Come on. Let’s sit down and talk about this. That way we can get everything off our chests.” Theo led the way to Hailey’s room and took a seat on her bed once inside. It was too bad he couldn’t have seen this room under other circumstances but he feared that any chance he had with Hailey was probably off the table for good now. Still, this was going better than he would have hoped so far. “So, the talk thing. Hailey, why don’t you go first?”

She could do this. She still had that bit of courage still left in her. She kept biting the corner of her lip as she followed Theo towards her room. They would just talk and hopefully he would like what she had to say. Hopefully. If not, she probably would do a very good job of embarrassing herself, which wasn't something that was unfamiliar to her around Theo. But she would get it over it and get it off her chest. This was something that needed to be said.

Hailey sat next to Theo on her bed, but she suddenly became antsy. Her leg jiggled a bit and once Theo suggested that she go first, she got up from her bed. She shifted from foot to foot as she tried to find the right words to start off with. But she ended up laughing at herself as she shook her head. "This was much easier in my head," she said as she looked at Theo. She took a deep breath before she started, "Listen, I've been thinking and I've been letting people control my life as long as I've remembered. My sister, boys, gods... they've just controlled my life and I haven't taken control at all. At least, until now." She nodded her head before she continued on. "I know what happened between you and my sister is messed up and honestly, if I left it affect me, then she wins, which is exactly what I don't want to do. She can't win."

She paused for a moment to compose herself before she blurted out, "I really like you Theo, okay? I know things are weird right now and I completely understand if you don't want to see me anymore, but I had to tell you that." She nodded her head and closed her eyes as she waited for the rejection that was bound to come from him.

Unfortunately it didn't look like there was much hope for calming Hailey down. She was a complete bundle of nerves. Did he really hurt her that bad that she couldn't even sit by him? Theo sighed as he watched her shift and move uncomfortably He wished he could do something to make this all easier for her but considering everything that had happened he had probably already done enough. In any case he waited patiently for her to come to what she had to say in her own time.

He fully expected to get everything that he had coming to him. Why not? It certainly wasn't the first time his freewheeling love life had gotten him in trouble with a girl. Usually he tried to keep things less messy but sometimes...well sometimes you couldn't avoid those things. Hailey wasn't mad at him though and as he listened he was actually kind of impressed by the courage she was showing to not let her sister's, and by association his, actions keep her down.

When she finally got to the point though and blurted out her confession it still took him completely by surprise. Theo was so surprised it actually took a moment for the full weight of what she said to sink in. When it did Theo began to laugh. He knew that he probably shouldn't, knew that Hailey would probably take offense but he just couldn't help it. This was what she had to say after everything that had happened? This was her big secret? Suddenly the weight of the past couple of hours just seemed to melt away and once he had started there was little he could do to stop it aside from just ride it out.

"Hailey." He tried to say even though speaking was hard when it felt like he couldn't breathe. "Hailey I'm sorry I just..." He had to get control of himself and after a few moments of hearty laughter the sight of her standing there nervous, probably embarrassed to death because of him again, was finally able to help him regain control of himself and let the last chuckles die away. "Oh Hailey. That's really all this was about?" He was still chuckling slightly but he was determined to push through this for Hailey's sake. "I know you like me. I've known since we turned you back into your human form. Why do you think I've been flirting with you and teasing you so much?"

Theo shook his head. This really had been a wild evening and now to top it all off Hailey was finally admitting to liking him? "I like you too Hailey. It's one of the reasons I was trying to get you to come out of your shell. I was just waiting for you to be ready. I mean your sister can't change that she just confused me in to thinking you were. I should have known better but I'd be lying if I said I didn’t like you like that."

Hailey cringed. He was laughing. Probably at her, but he was laughing. Out of all the responses she was expecting, this was the one she wasn't expecting at all. She had made a complete fool of herself in front of him and now she was paying for it. Maybe it was good that they never saw each other again. Maybe Hannah actually won when Hailey was hellbent on making sure that wouldn't be the case. Maybe she shouldn't have anything to say in the first place.

But once the laughter died down, Hailey opened her eyes slightly to look at Theo. He didn't look like he was being mean to her. Instead, he found this funny? She really didn't understand, but she opened her eyes fully only for her face to go completely red. Dear gods. She definitely managed to embarrass herself once again. And with her face fully flushed, her nose twitched which only added to her embarrassment. She reached up to cover her twitching nose with her hand as she looked at Theo.

"Is it really that obvious?" Hailey said as she lowered her hand. He knew that she liked him? Well, that could've saved her a lot of embarrassment. But it was right there in front of her. She liked him and he liked her. So everything was good, right? There only seemed to be one logical ending to all this embarrassment... unless that created even more embarrassment.

But that courage from before? That came back to her in full force. It probably helped that she knew how he felt, so she didn't feel so awkward acting on her gut. So she walked over to Theo as she stood in front of him. She had a moment of pause, but it didn't last too long as she leaned over to kiss him.

Poor Hailey. This couldn't have been easy for her. He could see how embarrassed she was and the little nose twitch thing that she did now but it was all so cute. Who could have resisted teasing her when they got that kind of reaction? Certainly not Theo. It was just another one of the reasons he liked Hailey so much and he guessed he hadn't really given enough credit if she really was willing to put this all behind her and....and what? He found out when she stepped over to him, seemed to think for a moment and then leaned in for a kiss.

Theo had thought the kiss would have been like the ones that he had shared with her sister. They looked alike after all and it seemed pretty reasonable that they would kiss alike as well. He was definitely wrong. To the contrary the kiss with Hailey, the real Hailey, was much more like he had imagined it would be from the beginning as opposed to the hungry kisses that Hannah had given him. Those were filled with more lust than anything else and maybe even a little malice now that he thought about it. Not that he was doing much thinking at the moment. He was concentrating pretty heavily on Hailey right now and how good this all felt.

Theo let the kiss go on for a whole before pulling away from her just a bit with a smile. "Now see that wasn't so hard was it?" This really was how he had expected things to go from the beginning but he wasn't sure how ready Hailey had been. Maybe he should have been more forward with her. Maybe he should have taken the initiative and they wouldn't have had to go through all this mess. That didn't matter now though. Hailey was definitely ready now and with that in mind he had no problem going in for another kiss as he tugged her gently into his lap.

This kiss with Theo was much better than the one they had shared earlier. Then again, he was kissing her thinking she was someone else. But this was her. Truly her. And this kiss was much better. So much better. It was probably even better than what she could possible imagine in the first place. Maybe if she was a little less intimidated and scared in the first place, she could've enjoyed his kisses much sooner. But that really didn't matter now because she was definitely enjoying them now.

And it felt like their kiss lasted almost forever before he pulled away from her lips. And, of course, in true Theo fashion, he managed to make her blush with one simple sentence. "It's harder than it looks," she managed to breathe out before she felt him pulling her onto his lap. She straddled his lap just as she felt his lips on hers again. She loosely wrapped her arms around his neck as she kissed him back, putting a little bit more into the kiss this time around.

Theo thought he could get used to this and considering Hailey wasn’t offering up any objections he guessed she could get used to it as well. That was good because judging by how heated things were starting to get he figured that there was probably more to come. All in all he had to admit that this conversation was going much better than he had anticipated on the walk over here. He hadn’t really wanted to hurt Hailey so maybe this was his chance to make things right.

He would be lying if he said that having her straddle him like this wasn’t incredibly hot and Theo thought it would be a shame to waste a chance to enjoy the sexy girl that had literally fallen into his lap tonight. As Hailey got more into their kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck the Hecate boy slipped a hand down to give her butt a little squeeze and with his other hand he reached up to rub the back of her neck and play with her hair as he pulled her deeper into their kiss wanting to get as much of this as he could get.

This night had done a complete one-eighty from their failed board game night, but Hailey was completely okay with this. She was going to start living her life on her terms and if that meant she got to kiss cute Hecate boys in her room, then so be it. She had an empty cabin to herself for a little bit longer, so why not enjoy it while she could?

And it seemed like Theo was enjoying it as well with the way he pulled her in closer and deeper into their kiss. She groaned against his lips as his hands wandered her body as her own hand crept into the back of his hair. After a couple of moments, she pulled away from his lips to catch her breath. "Gods..." she muttered as she looked at Theo with half-hooded eyes.

And Hailey was definitely enjoying this as much as he was if the sounds she was making were any indication. Theo loved it. The feel of her pressed against him, the taste of her lips, the curve of her hips and most of all that lingering feeling of doubt that he had with her sister wasn’t there. This time it was just him and her, the right her, and that was exactly how Theo wanted it. The kiss couldn’t last forever though and when Hailey pulled away she looked breathless and lovely.

Theo smiled at her and used the hand that had been playing with her hair to brush a few strands that had gotten misplaced in their impromptu make out session. “You going to make it bunny girl?” He said with a little chuckle. "I don't want to scare away any of this new found courage you seem to have discovered." Granted she didn't seem like she was going to be backing down but he couldn't resist getting one more gentle tease in. "Of course we could always try out a few of those board games of yours if you want.”

Things were just too perfect at that exact moment. Theo was right there in front of her and he liked her back. There was practically nothing that could make this better. Well, she could think of a few things, but she wasn't going to press her luck quite yet. She smiled slightly as Theo reached up to brush a few strands of her hair away as he called her bunny girl. Funny, she kind of actually slightly liked the nickname.

And of course, in true Theo fashion, he had to tease her even if it was a gentle one. Her face flushed slightly as she bit the corner of her lip. She thought about it for a moment, but a slight grin crept onto her lips. "I think this is way more fun than Candyland," she said softly before she leaned in towards him to continue their kissing session.
