[Viv Jennings]

Viv thought Drew deserved every little bit of sarcasm and teasing she was throwing at him and it was refreshing to see he was dishing it back as well. She rolled her eyes at the comment he had about her underwear, but that was it before she was off and finding Zeke.

And when she came back, she thought she saw Drew looking visibly relieved, but she honestly didn't know why. They were just doing a drug run after all. It wasn't like they were escaping camp from its impending doom or whatever. But she chuckled as she shook her head as she started walking towards the edge of camp. "I don't think Chiron's that fast anyway, unless he decked out his wheelchair to be an ATV or something. Argus might be one to worry about and maybe the harpies but I don't think they'd give us any trouble." She walked a couple of steps in front of Drew before she turned around with teasing smirk on her face. "C'mon, slowpoke. We don't got all night."

“A centaur in an ATV. That sounds like a recipe for disaster.” He said as he started heading for the forest. It was good to hear her joking with him again. A moments ago he had been sure she was ready to kill him but now things seemed more normal. Granted she probably still would kill him once she found out what he was keeping from her and what he knew but what was that to him? He had been dying all his life and he was pretty sure her could handle the wrath of one angry Hades girl even if it was deserved.

“I don’t want to give him a chance though. I’m trying to keep everyone from figuring out what’s going on after all.” He was sticking to his story for now which was easy enough because it was true in a sense. The camp didn’t know and he preferred to keep it that way especially since it was someone finding out that had gotten him into this whole mess to begin with. He didn’t think Viv would ask too many questions and that was good. It helped make sure he didn’t mess this up too soon and have her running back here to get herself hurt or killed. That would defeat the whole purpose of this little trip and he didn’t want that. “You know mine so what’s your reason for rushing? Got somewhere you gotta be in the morning?”

"Just make sure that nobody puts that thought in his head and we should be golden, along with the rest of camp," Viv said with a smirk as she made her way towards the woods. This was the first time she snuck out of camp since her accident. The thought just hit her. That was years ago, maybe that's why she finally agreed to come along for this little drug run. She hadn't had a proper outing in a while. And this outing had some rather good company if she did say so herself, so it was looking like it was going to be a good one.

But he teased her for being too eager to leave. She rolled her eyes before she chuckled, "I don't got anywhere to be, but the company is sure nice." She winked at him briefly before she said, "Besides, I'm not in a mood to be caught by harpies like you're not in the mood to be caught by Chiron."

Drew caught her wink and smiled just a bit. The company was nice. He could agree with that sentiment. He liked Viv, felt like she was one of the few people that actually got him or at least came close to it considering he didn’t know if anyone could really get him or his situation. Maybe there was something in their shared closeness to death that helped them find some kind of deeper connection. Drew didn’t know and doubted he would ever get the chance to considering what was coming. Still, he was going to enjoy this while it lasted.

“Yeah? Well if you enjoy it so much maybe we can have a little fun while we’re out. No reason to be in a hurry to get back and when’s the last time you were able to have a good time without the watchful eyes of Chiron on you?” Taking a few long steps to catch up to her so he was walking beside her he added. “Besides, once were out it’s easier to stay out than get back in. At least until the harpies stop patrolling.”

“A little fun plus your drug run?” Viv said with a smirk as she chucked. “You're really looking for an excuse to get out, don't you?” She looked over at him as she cocked an eyebrow at him. “It'll only take a few weeks to get to Vegas,” she said sarcastically. “But we'd have fun there… or we can get hitched so we have an excuse not to come back to camp.”

Not that she was interested in marriage in the first place or needed an excuse not to come back at all. But some teasing or sarcasm never hurt. “That'd be something to do while we're gone because the harpies never stop patrolling at night.” She paused in her tracks as she looked at him with a playful smirk, “That was your plan, wasn't it? Lure me out with a drug run and then have me all to yourself for your nefarious ways.”

Drew quirked an eyebrow as he walked along with her. The whole Vegas thing was obviously so blown out of proportion that she couldn't be serious but the words still sounded funny coming out of her mouth. Here she was joking about running off together when he was thinking it didn't sound like a half bad idea. Oh sure they didn't have to go all out and get married like she was talking about but instead of thinking why he was thinking why not? It would certainly make things simpler. "I don't think I'm going to be marrying anyways. Who's got the time right?"

He gave a dry chuckle at the idea of him getting married and trying to carry on a relationship with what little time he had. It was a pretty comical but he had stopped joking about his illness long ago. With his thoughts so set he hardly recognized Viv stopped behind him as she spoke and it wasn't until he glanced back and noticed she was a few steps away that he came to a stop as well. "What if it was? Don't tell me that you would rather stay in camp being cooped up for the rest of your life. There's more to this life than what the gods have planned for us and I for one don't have the time to waste."

Viv chuckled to herself at Drew's response. She was only half kidding about Vegas, of course, but she was completely kidding about the whole marriage thing. She never really saw herself to settle down with one guy after her accident. Besides, people could quickly come and go like the wind. But she didn't let Drew onto that fact as she shrugged her shoulders. "You're not the only one. I got shit to do and stuff. Besides, who would want to be stuck with one person for the rest of their lives? Sounds boring."

But she turned to walk backwards as she looked at Drew with a cocked eyebrow. "I never said that being with you and your nefarious ways was a bad thing." she said flatly before she threw him a wink and turned on her heels to walk forward again. "And I was only half-kidding about Vegas. I've never been before. Unless you got somewhere else you want to be?"

Honestly Drew would have killed for a normal life. Hell, he would have killed for a normal demigod life. It wasn't like he was asking for much after all. Living a half life though, a life where he let some disease slowly kill him while controlling the things he did would have been much worse. So Drew found the middle ground. He didn't know how long he had so he had decided to not live by anyone's rules but his own. That wasn't too say he didn't have regrets but he did always do the things he thought were best for him, for others and even the gods. Still, he couldn't help but find a little bit of bitter irony in Viv's words. That was okay though. He liked Viv and her kidding aside he really didn't think that the Vegas thing was such a bad idea.

"Yeah who would want a boring life?" He said with another huff of amusement. Drew watched as she spun around to wink at him and that made him smile a little. She was cute when she acted like this and he liked it. "I'll just have to make sure I treat you very nefariously then and yeah the Vegas thing wasn't a bad idea. I've never been either." This idea was sounding better by the minute and the thought of a little extra time away with Viv wasn't exactly a bad thing. Why shouldn't they go and in the end he guessed there wasn't any reason not to. "I'm up for it if you are." He said with a shrug. "Like I said, I don't have the time to waste sticking around here and who knows what will happen if we both get drunk enough in Vegas."

Viv had to laugh a bit. "You haven't seen me drunk, yet," she said with a little bit of a smirk. "My drunk self really gets into sports even though I know nothing about them, especially football and baseball." She chuckled a bit before she said, "I guess I have a thing about guys playing with their balls." But he never been to Vegas before and neither had she, so it seemed like their destination was pretty clear.

"I think that's settled then," Viv said as she stopped in her tracks as she turned back around to face Drew. "We're going to Vegas." She had a slight smirk on her face as she reached out to grab Drew's hand. "And we're going to shadow travel there... are you okay with that?" She looked at him with a solemn face as she judged his expression. Shadow travel was something Viv rarely did, but it was something she knew how to do and it was going to be the fastest way to Vegas if they didn't want to hitchhike across the country.

Drew chuckled as she mentioned getting really into sports when she got drunk. “You’re kidding me? I definitely didn’t see you as the sporty type. Maybe it’s the whole athletic guy in uniform thing that you like. Though knowing handle to handle your balls is pretty important.” This was something he was definitely going to have to experiment with once he got Viv out on the town. He wasn’t too much for drinking, cigarettes were more his vice, but he would give good money to see sporty Viv in all her glory.

So they were really doing this. They were going to Vegas. Drew had to admit he was kind of excited about the idea. Here they were about to go out and have some real fun and for Drew at least he thought that this was long overdue. The next thing he knew though Viv was grabbing his hand. “Shadow travel?” He hadn’t known Viv could do that but he guessed it was alright. It was too bad though as he kind of liked hitch hiking across the country. “Sure, why not? So long as you don’t kill yourself trying before I get to see Sporty Viv. Let’s do it.”

"It's kind of funny what kind of drunks people can be, but I do vouch that I'm the sporty type. Plus I've had some guys say that my sex drive gets amped up a bit as well." She winked at him as she chuckled a bit before grabbing his hand and pulling him close to her. "But I think we'll have plenty of time for you to see that up close, won't we?"

But now it was figuring out the Shadow Travel thing. If she wasn't mistaken, Drew was a little bit concerned about hurting herself, but she brushed it off. "It shouldn't be any big," she said as she shrugged her shoulders. "It's only halfway across the country so I might need the night to recuperate, but I think you can survive that much." She took a deep breath before she nodded her head. "Okay. Let's go." And then she closed her eyes and the next thing she knew, they were shadow travelling but only for a few brief seconds. Once they were in Vegas, Viv stumbled a bit as her legs felt like she ran a marathon. "I think we need to find a hotel soon," Viv said breathlessly before motioning to Zeke. "And a pet-friendly one at that too."

He didn't know if Viv's sex drive needed to get amped up or not. In his experience things tended to get a little wild between them without any help but he wouldn't complain. What happened in Vegas stayed in Vegas after all and she was right, they would have plenty of time to test out that theory once they got there. Right now it would just be something else to look forward to and the way things were shaping up he thought this trip was going to be alright.

Viv seemed to be ready to go and that was fine with him. He was sure that she knew her abilities better than he did and he wasn't going to argue with her on them. If she thought she could do it then he saw no reason to doubt her. Still, he did step a little closer to her just in case his closeness helped somehow. He had never shadow traveled before and he wanted to make sure there wasn't any trouble on his end.

As it turned out shadow travel was a lot easier than he thought. There were a few seconds of cold, prickliness that was kind of uncomfortable and creepy but when they reappeared on the loud, brightly colored streets of Los Vegas everything was okay. At least for him. Viv stumbled but Drew reacted quickly by wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her up for support. "Easy there." He said as he braced her and helped her over to a nearby bench. "Yeah I'm thinking a hotel would be good too. Wait here and I'll make some calls at the payphone over there. Next time just remind me to have a cab waiting for us when we go warping across the country."

At least she didn't pass out or go into a coma. Maybe going to Vegas was pushing her skills just a bit, but not as bad as some of her siblings have done. So feeling a bit shaky wasn't that bad in comparison and at least Drew was there to catch her and walk her over to a bench. Hopefully no mortals saw their little entrance, but she was hoping that a lot of them were too drunk to care.

“Payphone?” Viv had to laugh as she moved Zeke into her lap and looked around at the Vegas lights. “They still have those around? Do you even know how to use ancient technology?”

Viv hadn't lost her sarcasm when they shadow traveled so Drew figured she wasn't in too bad shape. Still, having a place for her to rest would no doubt do them both some good before they hit the town. "Shut it." He said with a grin. "Ancient or not it will get the job done. Plus I don't see you offering any ideas." With her sitting down he was pretty sure that she would be alright for a minute or two. It wasn't like he was going far anyways. "Just relax and enjoy the sights for a minute. I mean hey, we're in Vegas."

Still smiling a bit at that last part he left her there and headed for the phone he had seen earlier. A little searching and a few calls later and Drew had secured a room and transportation. Nobody could accuse him of not knowing how to take care of himself. After he had finished up he returned to Viv and plopped down beside her and Zeke. "Cab should be coming soon so we can sit back, relax and enjoy the sights a bit. Hotel won't be much but it beats sleeping outside. Did I miss anything?"

Viv rolled her eyes as Drew told her to shut it. She chuckled a bit as she rolled her eyes before calling out to him, "I could be standing on a corner hitching my thumb or my skirt, but a phone call is probably a little better." But she was perfectly content with him calling a cab or whatever. She did most of the heavy lifting getting them there anyway. But she smirked a bit as he mentioned that they were Vegas. Perfect. She pet Zeke as she looked around. The lights were almost as good as all the advertisements she'd seen. Even better.

But soon enough, Drew was done with his phone call and he was right beside her. "I don't think we need anything fancy for Vegas. A bed and a bathroom and we're pretty much set. She smirked as she glanced over at Drew. "But it does help if the bed is slightly comfortable if we want to do more than just sleep," she said with a chuckle.
