Careful and quiet weren’t attributes that Eris children were particularly known for. Even Maddie had a habit of throwing some mighty epic tantrums every now and then. It kind of came with the territory when your mom was all about discord and chaos. The difference was that Maddie, unlike many of her siblings, knew that there were some things that were more important than mass chaos. She could put aside troublemaking, if only for a little while, especially if there was a larger goal in sight.

So Maddie had been careful and even though the cabin was empty right now she had been quiet as she went around to each of her siblings’ rooms collecting the things that she needed from them. That last one her list had been her big sister Rileigh and it was from Rileigh’s room that Maddie now crept looking suspicious, as usual.

‘It won’t take long now.’ The girl thought as she snuck into her room and carefully shut the door behind her. She had everything she needed and now the really ‘fun’ part began. As Maddie set down on her floor in front of all her collected materials she began to titter. It was a soft, slightly unhinged sound but then again who could blame her? It wasn’t everyday she got to use her siblings in her little craft projects. She just hoped that they would all find her presents and amusing as she undoubtedly did.

Another dummy beaten up. Another person made out with. It was all in a day's work for Rileigh as she made her way back to the cabin. She made sure to check that Tad outside of the cabin, because she didn't want to walk in to him doing his business. She didn't want to see his mini-me ever again, especially since they now had a little sister. A brat who was like three or something. Rileigh didn't care as long as she stayed out of her stuff.

So she walked into the cabin and towards her door before stopped right outside. Something was off. The door wasn't completely shut all the way like she liked it. She sighed loudly as she tilted her head back and looked at the ceiling. "SOMEBODY," she said loudly as she decided to give the intruder a bit of a warning, "BETTER NOT BE IN MY ROOM! I'M GOING TO COUNT TO THREE AND MY ROOM SHOULD BE COMPLETELY NORMAL WHEN I WALK IN! ONE... TWO..."

Maddie heard the yelling from the other room just as she was putting the finishing touches on the last of the voodoo dolls she had been making for her siblings. Why did her sister have to be so loud? It was very distracting and couldn't Rileigh just come and knock on her door like a normal person? Then again she supposed all the Eris kids tended to shout to get their points across.

Maddie got up and walked to her door as she finished tying the pieces of Rileigh’s hair she had found on her sister’s pillow around the crude effigy she had constructed. The hair was the most necessary part and she wouldn’t allow herself to be distracted now. When she got to the door she stuck her head out into the hall and noticed Rileigh standing there outside her room. Maddie watched her sister for a moment her hands still working behind the door before she finally said in a dead pan voice. “You should be quieter. Some people are trying to work.”

As Rileigh was yelling out her countdown, she was expecting for her door to either open or hear the window open. Either way, she was expecting to find guilt. Instead, after she yelled out THREE she heard a door open, but it wasn't hers. She whirled around and narrowed her eyes when she figured out who it was. It was Madison. She was new and she was like three or something. Rileigh didn't care. She knew that the little girl was annoying and deserved a good punch or two to the face.

"Trying to work?" Rileigh spat out as she put her hands on her hips. "What kind of work does a three year old do? Play with baby rattles? And you better have not been in my room, because I will make your life a living Hades if you have been."

Mads had apparently surprised her big sister. That wasn’t too unusual in her case as she had a tendency to pop up in places where she was least expected or wanted but generally when she did so people were weirded out and not angry. The fact that Rileigh still was angry was a bit odd and Maddie thought it would be interesting to see how this situation turned out.

Maddie watched her sister coolly as Rileigh went into her tirade about not going into her room. There wasn’t much to do about that now but the wheels were beginning to turn in Maddie’s mind and she was starting to think this might not be such a bad situation after all. What could be better for her voodoo doll than more hair straight from her sister’s head? It was a thought that was very tempting. “If you don’t want anyone in your room you should keep it locked and yes, I was working. On new dolls. You should come and play with me. Isn’t that what big sisters are supposed to do?”

Even though she wouldn't say it outright, the snot-nosed brat was in Rileigh's room and that thought made her blood boil. Her heartbeat quickened as she clenched both of her hands into fists. She was going to get what she deserved and she knew that her three year old sister deserved it more than Tad or anyone else in this cabin. And she knew that Chiron would not approve of it at all, but Rileigh knew she would feel an intense satisfaction if one of her fists landed in her face.

"New dolls?" she hissed between gritted teeth as she took a step closer towards Maddie. "The only thing I'll be playing with you is boxer and you get to be the punching bag. Doesn't that sound like fun?"

Rileigh didn’t look too satisfied with Maddie’s answer which might have been a bit of an understatement. Still, it was no reason to resort to violence especially when Mads was trying to make her siblings presents. She was certain that the voodoo dolls would be ruined if Rileigh got a hold of them so that meant Maddie had to protect them. Fortunately she had an idea how to do that and was already working on a plan to get what she really wanted.

“You’re very violent. It’s probably going to give you wrinkles.” Maddie said and as Rileigh began stepping closer the girl ducked back inside her room making sure to lock the door. Rileigh probably wouldn’t like that but then again that was the desired effect. Anger was a very powerful emotion after all and Maddie was going to try and use it to her advantage.

Of course Rileigh was very violent. It was a part of her personality and it didn't help that their mother was one of chaos. But Rileigh had every intention of punching her sister right in the face when she had to insult her! The nerve! "AT LEAST I'LL LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO SEE WRINKLES!" she cried out just as her sister hide behind the door and locked it. Rileigh got closer as she started pounding on the door with her fists. "YOU COME OUT HERE YOU LITTLE PUNK! I'LL SHOW YOU THAT YOU NEED TO RESPECT YOUR ELDERS!" The longer that Rileigh talked, the harder her pounding got. It wasn't close enough that she could break down the door, but she knew she could do it if it ever came down to that.

Maddie didn’t know what all the fuss was about. It wasn’t like she had stolen Rileigh’s stinky clothes or misplaced her things. Mads was just trying to make presents and her sister needed to just chill out. That said she now had the opportunity to make Rileigh’s voodoo doll so much better. Surely if she made the perfect doll for her sister that would calm the girl down because while the idea of bodily harm wasn’t necessarily unappealing Maddie preferred to be the one inflicting it.

Listening to her sister bang away on the door Maddie took the opportunity and slipped out the window in her room. She could still hear Rileigh yelling from inside and that was good. It would mask her movements. Her sister’s voodoo doll clutched lovingly to her chest Maddie walked around to the front of the cabin, waited for a particularly load volley of obscenities and banging and slipped inside without being noticed.

Her sister was distracted and that was going to work in her favor. Carefully, quietly and moving only when the banging was its loudest Maddie crept up behind Rileigh and with a quick, lightning fast movement of her hand grabbed the girl’s hair annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd yanked like there was no tomorrow. The hairs she came away with would be perfect additions to her Rileigh doll.

Rileigh's loud pounding covered up the sounds of her bratty three year old sister escaping her room. She didn't think of the possibility of Madison escaping and coming back to get her, but Rileigh had more important things to worry about. Like breaking through her sister's door. She was really getting her body into bashing against the door when she cried out loud.

Her head was jerked back as she felt the distinct pain of hairs coming out of her scalp. "YOU BRAT!" She screamed as she turned around and glared at her sister. "YOU ARE GOING TO PAY FOR THAT!" And with that, she swung a fist towards the direction of her sister's face.

Success! Maddie came away with a whole handful of strands of Rileigh’s hair. This was just perfect. When making voodoo dolls nothing beat supplies straight from the source and in this case the source was her sister’s head. Mad’s didn’t have long to celebrate though as a cry of rage and fury brought the girl’s attention back to the situation at hand mainly Rileigh coming out swinging at her. Fortunately Maddie had anticipated this unfortunate reaction and did the only thing she could do by dropping to the floor out of range of her sister’s punch.

It was all she needed. The punch soared over her head and then she was off. While Rileigh tried to recover Maddie scrambled to her feet and took off across the cabin hoping to escape. She had to get away. Had to get her sister to understand and that wouldn’t happen if she got caught. The problem was that there weren’t many places to escape to so that meant she would have to improvise. “WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIT!” She screamed as she ran behind a table hoping that it would slow her sister long enough to get her attention. “I CAN EXPLAIN!”

The brat avoided her punch. The brat avoided her punch that threw Rileigh off balance that she stumbled forward slightly. She managed to regain her balance as she started to storm after her sister. "OH YOU'RE SO GOING TO PAY FOR THAT!" she screamed at the girl as she followed her into the main part of the cabin. The part where Maddie found herself cornered and tried to use a table for cover. A table that could easily move out of the way if Rileigh so pleased.

"OH, YOU CAN EXPLAIN?!" Rileigh screamed as she approached the table opposite of her sister. She gripped the edge of it as she glared at her. "I THINK THE TIME FOR EXPLAINING IS OVER AND IT'S TIME FOR YOU PUNISHMENT YOU LITTLE IMP!"

Well this was an unfortunate turn of events. Clearly Maddie hadn’t expected this kind of reaction to her gift and frankly it was a little annoying. If this was how her sister was going to act then one thing was for sure. Mads definitely had a new target for all the voodoo she was practicing. If that was the case Rileigh didn’t know what she was getting into.

“You know.” Maddie said with eerie calm as she watched her sister for the first sign of movement. “I don’t even think I want to give you your present now.” The younger fixed Rileigh with a malevolent glare. “OH AND WHEN YOU SHOUT LIKE THAT IT GIVES YOU UGLY OLD LADY WRINKLES!”

Present? The brat was going to give her a present? Well, Rileigh had a present of her own and it presented itself in the form of her fists. She took deep, angry breaths as she continued to grip onto the edge of the table. Then she did it. The brat said something that she been flinging as insults since she got here. Rileigh screamed as she moved her hands so that the table flipped out of her way. With adrenaline pumping, there was no way she was seeing clearly. "YOU ARE GOING TO WISH YOU WERE NEVER BORN!" she screamed out as she charged at her sister with both hands out in front of her in a choke hold.

That got a reaction out of Rileigh which was curious because Maddie had only been telling the truth. Admittedly she had yelled the truth very loudly so that the rest of the world could hear but considering how much Rileigh screamed herself everyone probably already knew it. Still, Mads hadn't expected her sister to flip the table between them and come lunging at her. It caught her off guard and that moment of surprise was all the older girl needed.

Maddie felt the hands close around her neck, gave a strangled little squeak and then suddenly she couldn't breathe. It was an interesting sensation. She had never been strangled before and would probably have enjoyed the experience from a student's perspective but for some reason she didn't think Releigh was trying to help her broaden her horizons. That being the case Maddie reacted instinctively by turning her head to the side and biting down on one of the exposed wrists as hard as she could wondering if this was how the alligators in the Louisiana bayou felt when someone tried to wrestle them. If so Maddie knew that alligators tasted good. She guessed now she would be getting to find out how Rileigh's tasted.
