Masin often hung around the Principia, being ready for any official camp business that may come up. She also liked to remain informed as to who was coming in and out of the camp, and this was the best place to get that information. However, she had just finished writing up her cohorts assignments for the week and was looking forward to posting them in the barracks.

Awe, the forth cohort. Such an exciting place. Her team was a good one, and she liked them all as individuals and as a group.

She burst out of the Principia front door, ready to make a bee-line for the barracks when she full on ran into someone pacing on the steps. "Gods!" she called out, a bit of a shrill sound escaping her lips with the word. Her papers had flown about and she groaned, bending down to pick them up. "Don't you have anything better to do than stand around doorways-" she stopped, catching sight of who she had run into.

Sleep walking was one thing but sleep pacing? That was definitely a new one. Yet here Tawny was, walking back and forth in front of the 4th's barracks, eyes closed and happily snoozing. It was probably a testament to just how tired she really was that she had fallen asleep on her feet and walking back to her own barracks with the third but considering she was running on epic levels of insomnia here sometimes when you had to sleep, you had to sleep.

For her part she was having a pretty good dream for once. In fact she was just getting to the best part when she felt something crash into her and there was falling and flailing and who knew what else. Next she heard someone yelling but couldn't really tell what they were saying as her mind was still trying to figure out where she was. "Huh? Wha...?" Tawny looked around rubbing sleep out of her eyes and trying to stand up. "Oh Hey there. Guess I was in the way huh? Man, and just at the good part too..." The blonde girl let out a sigh but turned a smiling face up at this new person. "Oh well. Hey sorry about that though. No hard feelings?"

Masin frowned as the girl responded and she straightened up, holding her gathered papers in her hand. She was... sleep... walking? What? The girl seemed to come to, saying that she was 'just at the good part' and Masin scowled, pursing her lips in annoyance and judgment. But then the girl smiled at her and said she was sorry, asking for 'no hard feelings' and Masin breathed in deeply through her nose. "Okay," she said, narrowing her eyes a little, "but what on earth do you mean 'the good part'?" she asked, genuinely curious. This girl was certainly peculiar... but interesting.

Tawny chuckled softly. "Oh not too much I was just having a pretty good dream just now and well...now I'm not." The blonde girl covered her mouth as she let out a long yawn. Waking up wasn't fun but waking up from a good dream when you hadn't had much sleep to begin with was even worse. Still, that didn't mean Tawny had to be a punk about it and besides, she was kind of getting used to waking up in situations like this as weird as that sounded.

"Didn't mean to get in the way though. Sometimes my feet take me where they want to go and I'm just along for the ride you know?" Tawny didn't know if the girl had any clue what she was talking about or not. It was what it was though and there was no sense feeling bad about it. "How about you. You aren't hurt are you?"

She was... dreaming? Sleep walking. Masins eyes widened and she nodded as she figured it out. "Erh... sure. Never slept walked," she answered slowly. "It's all right," Masin spoke when the girl said she didn't mean to be in the way. Masin was astounded by this girl, who seemed to think that this want entirely normal. Well, sleep walking was normal for her, it looked like.

Then this girl asked if she was hurt and Masin shook her head, "No, I'm fine. Do you mind... why are you sleeping at this time of day?" she asked, genuinely curious about this.

The girl was looking at her like she was crazy and really Tawny guessed she could understand. People usually didn’t know how little sleep she had been getting lately because she held herself together pretty well. She was used to this sort of thing after all but it did make more sense when she explained a little about who she was. At least people seemed to get the whole dream thing that way. Speaking of which that was something that she probably should have started with and maybe it would have cleared the air some.

Ignoring the girl’s question for a moment Tawny held out hand with a grin. “Name’s Tawny and believe me it’s not as weird as it looks.” She paused and seemed to consider this comment for a moment, decide that it was pretty weird and then shrugged it off. “I’m a daughter of Somnia you see so dreaming is kinda my thing. As for why I’m doing it out here I guess I should have picked up an extra red bull or something in town cause I’m really…really…” Her sentence was interrupted by another long yawn and when it had finally passed Tawny continue. “Well you get the picture right?”

Masin was a bit surprised by the girl introducing herself before answering, but that made sense. Masin remembered herself, taking the outstretched hand and shaking it. "Masin DeLisle, Centurion for the Fourth Cohort," she replied, then took her hand back to let the girl keep explaining. Not as weird as it looked, eh?

Oooh, Somnia. Masin smiled politely, nodding, "yes, yes, I see," she said as the girl spoke after yawning. "I'm afraid it's just a little concerning. You could hurt yourself," or someone else, she thought. "Can I walk you somewhere before you pass out again?" she offered with an eyebrow raised.

Masin seemed to think Tawny was in some kind of danger which made her chuckle a little bit. If walking around half asleep was the most dangerous thing she did she would probably end up in the infirmary a lot less. No, compared to her normal death defying stunts a little sleep walking wasn't so bad in comparison. "Nah, I wouldn't be too worried about that. I do lots more dangerous stuff on my skateboard and dad usually sends me a dream or something to wake me up if I'm in too much danger. When it's the ones that don’t get forced on you then you tend to stop and enjoy them a bit."

Tawny spoke as if she had plenty of experience with both situations. The problem was she had far too many of those message dreams and not enough of the good ones that she could enjoy. That was okay though. She was pretty cool about it and aside from the occasional run in with someone no serious harm had been done yet. "But hey if you want to head back to the barracks with me I don't mind the company. You said you were a centurion right? I don’t know many of those. Granted that's usually because they majorly harsh my mellow by yelling at me to stop riding my board around camp but you seem pretty chill you know?"

Now the girl was chuckling. Okay... she was getting more interesting and strange by the second, but also making more sense at the same time. "Skateboard," Masin repeated, nodded absent mindedly. "That's nice of him," she said, as the girl spoke as to how her 'dad' sent her dreams to wake her up. Enjoying dreams that weren't forced made sense to Masin, since most Demi-Gods dreams always meant something. It'd be nice to have some that didn't. Masin didn't remember her dreams, really, or attempt to. Unless they were important.

Masin also thought it was a bit odd that the girl referred to her godly parent Snorus as 'dad'. Masin couldn't imagine calling her godly mother 'mom'. They were just not like that and Masin's father wasn't like that either, so, it didn't really come to her naturally.

"Yes, I did," she confirmed, as to being a centurion. The yelling and telling her to stop riding her board sounded like something Masin would do, though... "chill. Sure, when I'm not busy," Masin had never thought of herself as 'chill'. She couldn't decide if she liked it or not. "Yeah, let's walk. I don't have any duties for an hour or so," she agreed.

If Masin was showing in trepidation about having Tawny as company the blonde girl didn't seem to notice. Over all she had a fairly easy going character and didn't tend to put much stock in what others thought of her. Something that came in handy if she did happen to get yelled at for not taking things quite as seriously as many of her Roman counterparts. As far as Tawny was concerned though so far Masin wasn't getting all stressed out like most of the centurions so that made her okay in Tawny's eyes.

"Cool, cool." The sleepy girl said as she started walking along. The third's barracks wasn't that far and it would be nice to have someone to talk to along the way. "So what about you Masin? Seems like I've been telling all this stuff about me but what do you do, well aside from all the centurion-y stuff of course." Tawny couldn't be certain but she was getting the feeling that Masin was a little more reserved than she was. That wasn't too surprising as most Romans generally were but maybe she could get the centurion girl to open up some with a little work.

They started to walk, the girl yawning again. Masin was horrified for a moment that she had to, like, keep this girl away by remaining interesting. That wasn't her strong point. But, she brushed that off. That didn't matter. Tawny opened up the floor for Masin to talk about herself and Masin tensed a little. She didn't talk about herself very much. Or rather, she tried not to. Though, it was kind of... nice, to be having a normal conversation.

But she wouldn't admit that out loud.

"I just... I like to read. I like wine and classical music," she admitted with a firm, businesslike tone almost. Like she was at a job interview. 'Chill' was not her strong suit.

Tawny watched Masin curiously as they walked and talked. Well really it was more walking than talking but she was learning a little bit more about the girl she had bumped into and that was always interesting. Honestly though she was kind of surprised by how stiff and formal Masin sounded. In Tawny’s experience even the stiffest of centurions could drop the super serious Roman routine for a bit. Masin though sounded like she was kind of not used to bumping into sleep walking people and carrying on ideal chit chat.

Tawny didn’t mind much but it might be a long walk if all they had to talk about was books, wine and classic music which were all things that had a little trouble holding the blonde girl’s attention. Oh well, it would just have to fall to Tawny to keep things moving on which she did by chuckling a little in that carefree way she had and then picking up the conversation where Masin left it. “Sounds pretty chill to me. Nobody can be all duty and honor all the time am I right?” Tawny grinned as they walked on and then continued. “Guess I’m just the type to blow off steam outside. Always kinda been that way. Mom’s a Mercury demigod so that’s probably where it comes from. It’s cool though. Exciting. Nothing like pulling off a sick new trick that you don’t know if you can land. It really gets the blood pumping.”
