The news spread quickly in Camp Jupiter. Ash was prepping for the battle that was soon to come, and for that she needed the staging for it. Ash hadn't participated in the game events, but the arena was still set up for a game. Shields and weapons lined the ground, motorized dummies patrolled in their set marches and walls of wood and cover. Ash stood behind one of the cover on the far end of the round arena. Next to her in her strap was her gladius, her right hand held a pilum that had been laying on the ground. She fittled with a small button in her hand. Three. Two. One. She pressed and the arena soared to life.
5/5 Left. Ash's first target was on the left, she crept around to her right and waited till she head the last click of the machine, as the cycle was about to restart before peering around and launching the pilum with one small glance before sprinting to the next cover, sliding behind a half fallen log, her hand dragging along a second gladius. She kept duck as she drew her second in her other hand. Two were on a in a patrol pattern, with little to no blind spot. She smirked to her self and she pole vaulting herself over the , sliding as she sliced at the back wiring of one of the machines, while the other turned around reacting to the movement, quickly landing into her second sword as it plunged into the machines dented chest. 2 left. The machines had been designed by Vulcan himself. As the other two sense noise then closed in on her. Why they were skilled the lacked a simple machine, being able to to think. She smirked as they rushed her, standing and at the last second, dropping to her knees as their swords collided with each other, trusting her own two blades into them as a extra measure. She smirked as they fell to the ground, standing up and dusting off her dirty hands. She was ready for whatever was going to come.
-1/5 left. She looked over and saw the silhouette of someone in the distance and smirked, pulling her sword out of machine and throwing it into the ground. "Did you enjoy the show?"

Jen didn’t normally sit around watching other people practice but when you walked out into the collosseum to work out some aggression and there was already someone taking up the place just to put on their own personal show there wasn’t really much of a choice. That said, if she was going to have to watch someone making a big to do about their skills at least it was someone who knew how to be entertaining. So many Romans were all about their formations and tactics so it was good to see one every once in a while that knew how to put on a good fight worth seeing.
That being the case Jen didn’t mind watching Ash as she decimated a few robots with her kicks and spins and flashy sword twirls or whatever they were called. She couldn’t remember exactly but judging by the attack style Ash had to be one of the Mars kids, maybe a Bollona. They were usually the only ones around here that actually seemed to enjoy fighting but keeping up with people’s parents, even those of her own cohort, was too much of a hassle for Jen to bother. The gods were like big horny rabbits after all and she couldn’t honestly be expected to keep up with them popping new demigods out every few days like some celestial fertility clinic. She did recognize Ash as being from her cohort though and for Jen that was doing pretty good.
As Ash finished up her little show it became obvious that she had noticed Jen watching. Jen just smirked as she began walking onto the field giving the girl a slow clap as she approached. “Some fancy footwork for sure but I say the blood of dead monsters beats that of busted robots any day of the week. Too bad there’s none around to practice on unless they start letting us take a few swings at all the fawns. Hardly a challenge but I bet they at least squeal when you poke em.”

Her audience had started clapping and walking towards her as she finished up, whipping a bit of bit off of her brow line. Ash knew the girl walking towards her actually, she was in her cohort. Not that she talked to her much but she knew they both had very similar personalities. Fighters, very bold and action orientated. Ash even cracked a smile as she spoke. Oh she liked this one.
She chuckled a little, starting to move to collect the fall weapons she had used. Ash didn't have a set weapon that she only used, and likely in battle she would be picking up stranger things to use as weapons so most of them had just been scattered around the field, to be picked up anything at anytime. "Fawns would make more than a squeal at least, these machines are more to similar mass numbers than actual threats. Too bad they don't let us use real lions. I think Peta would be upset needless to say." she matched her tone, pulling up her sword as she spoke, knocking the dirt off with a kick of her shoes before resting on her shoulder. "Dead monsters are always the best but I have the feeling that we won't be meeting monsters on the battle field next. Nothing like the calamari." Maybe giants? Or Trolls, heck maybe even a god. "Youre Jen right? I don't think weve ever actually talked in the cohort."

"That's the name and yeah it's a little hard to chat when you've got people yelling orders and there’s fighting to be done. Most of the time I’m having too much fun myself to notice what everyone else is doing but it looks like you’d probably understand that.” Jen said as she walked over to the girl. If Jen was a betting girl, and as a child of Fortuna she definitely was, her money was on the fact that this girl liked fighting just as much as she did herself and that was good. The Legion could use a few more fighters that knew what they were doing.
“You’re probably right though. Giants, trolls, there’s got to be something out there waiting for us after the squid right? Guess it’s good that we’ve got some folks putting in the training because it’s not like I can do it all myself. Unfortunately the gods haven’t invited me to join them yet though if I was I’d make a damn fine one. The goddess of having a fucking good time. Don’t think they have one of those yet...” Jen stopped short of Ash and glanced around. “Shame they don’t pick themselves up. Don’t suppose there are any more laying around waiting to be demolished are there?”
