Mess at the Mess Hall? (Cassie,Open)

Cassie paused for a moment after listing the things he could do at camp. She was sure for some reason he wanted to know what she liked to do and that made her think for a moment"personally my favorite things to do around camp though I love to hang out with the dryads and nymphs..um I love to draw in my sketched at the arts and crafts no one really bothers me there I find it a sort of nice quiet place in the afternoon if not I typically go where it's quietest"She started to say."and of course I love to hone my skill I wouldn't suggest it if I didn't do it myself"She said feeling that was a good enough answer or so she hoped. She looked to him briefly before looking around.

"Yeah and hmm basically "She had started to say before she paused hearing his next sentence and she fell quiet"well some people are like that I'm sure with time you'll find your favorite spots to hang out"She said giving a small smile before she took notice of where they where walking and was about to warn him of the flowers when he started to appoligize for what he said"it's fine...."She said offering the smallest of smiles before she noticed they were closer to where most of the dryads tended to be. She knew because of the flowers. "Its fine seriously it's not like you had any control over it"She said before her head looked to where she heard a snap and saw the female figure. She gave a small smile noticing the dryads. She offered the wood dryad a smile"hey he didn't know he's new to camp so cut him some slack please"Cassiopeia said with a small smile it was a kind bit of words she hoped this dryad wouldn't take the wrong way. She happened to be one she hadn't seen around but it didn't bother the daughter of Persephone too bad."yeah I wouldn't have made the mistake but like I said he's kinda new"she said kindly. She then nodded to Seth.

    It was a good thing that Cassie didn't seem to mind asking any further about the Dryad's comments. With a sigh he scurried away, faster than he'd done when the Dryas shooed him from the flowers and headed back into the unknown. He'd probably get the layout of the camp down soon enough. Vague memories of his youth did help him out though, and he remembered. Funny enough, he'd also remembered that campers weren't allowed to sit at tables designated for other campers. Unless that rule had changed, this meant that Cassie was a lot bolder than he had thought. "Thank you for the stick up. I think I'll remember for next time that there are nymphs around camp. Anyways..." The sun was beginning to set and the golden hue of sundown was beginning to diminish into more a gentle blueish silver and then a darker blue, and eventually within the hour it would probably settle into night.

    "...anyways."  He exhaled and double checked to know that Cassie had followed. His legs had moved so quickly on his own he forgot to make sure if he left her behind. "Like I was saying before all of that, I'm sorry about your mom. I don't know if you've ever met her? But, she's nice. She was always nice to me."  He smiled.

Cassie had heard what the Dryad said but chose to not bring it up cause she had figured he didn't want to talk about it. With a small smile she nodded. "Well it's the least I could do I mean your technically new to camp"She said with a small shrug."and yeah that would be a good idea...they don't really like anyone near their flowers"She said. She then looked to the sky watching the sky darken slowly and smiled a little bit. The colors of sunset seemed to calm her a bit. Her gaze then looked back to him hearing him pause at anyways. Blinking she looked to him as she caught up easily."to...be honest I've never met my mother....but it would be nice to meet her one day"Cassie said looking to Seth.She blinked and smiled a bit"sounds like how my mom would be"She said with a small smile before she looked over to where she saw a flash of Brown and white and that's when her cat came up to her dirty.

   Seth had to consider himself luck to some degree to have even met Hades. From what he had gathered, most children of the gods never got around to ever knowing their divine parents/ The gods were always too busy to deal with the mortals, detached by their "duties". Oh gods, what an excuse that was. How often would Zeus go around and sleep around again? How often did his duties come first? Or even Poseidon, Ares, and the rest of them. His father, Hades, fathered demigod children yes, but his duties and responsibilities always came first. It was an aspect of his godly parentage that Seth had inherited, and felt very proud of. Why were the other gods so condescending to Hades? Like they took their responsibilities seriously...? His thoughts, he realized, were entering a very dangerous territory, so he perished them.  "Godly parents...most of the time they're not very active in our lives huh? I was a special case I think. Like I said, you're mom...was sweet. If I ever see her again I'll ask about you." With that he could spot a feline approaching the duo with a little hop to its step. The cat, by the looks of things, was quite dirty. He had wondered where it had gone? By the dirt and mess this cat seemed to be pretty wild and free.


    "Yours, I'm assuming?" With a smile, he reached down gently, slowly, being cautious of the cat's feelings. He didn't was to appear imposing, animals had instincts of wariness to strangers and Seth wanted to be sure not to frighten it. "He or she?" He asked as he proceeded to pet the cat's fur with care.

Cassie blinked quietly,She knew well enough that most demigod never got to meet their godly parents. Of course, there was the rare situations were some demigod actually met their parents and it seemed Seth was one. She wanted to hide the slight disappointment. She wanted the feeling of knowing her parent. For a moment a bit of sadness flickered across her features but she pushed them back. She barely knew her father who passed when she was nearly in her teens. She shoved her hand in her pockets after a moment."No they aren't....your really lucky to know you godly parent....i just wish I knew mine"She said before she knelt down as the filthy cat came over."Yeah this is my cat like I said he loves to get dirty..."She said."it's a he his name is King"she said picking up the dirty cat not minding the dirt that came off on her.

    With a little tact and some welcoming gesture, Seth was close enough to pet the cat enough for him to feel the softness of its fur. It was certainly softer than he would have thought with the eye test. His surprise didn't last long before Cassie swooped up her pet into her arms. He stood up from his crouching position and rubbed of any dirt that he had felt off of his hands .  Seth shrugged. "Ah right, King... Insinuates a male of course. Should've guessed from the beginning. Any who...I suppose I could consider myself lucky?" His face contorted ever so slightly at the thought. Lucky was definitely one strange way of putting it. "I didn't get to talk with my father too often. Usually he'd leave communication through other means...like the Erinyes, furies. How did you find out that you were a demigod?"

She was quiet for a moment "to be honest that's not so bad you've at least seen you godly parent....ive only heard stories...it also doesn't help I have no leaving relatives...at least not since I lost my father when he went on a work trip"She said quietly. She didn't much want to bring it up but sometimes things just happen. She was quiet for a moment King purring in her arms for a moment distracted her. She smiled a little bit petting him before she looked at Seth. His next question made her think for a moment. It seemed like so long ago that she had found out that she couldn't exactly remember."well....how I found out wasn't anything different...i guess .. I mean I had a run in with a monster at one point or another and was brought here...nothing special really"She said.

    Cassie had a tendency to pause a lot he noticed. Maybe that was just how she was, but from experiences, be it his own or those he's run into, the trait was usually derived from a vastly troubled mind. Maybe Cassie had a lot of thoughts that he had to sort through? That wouldn't be surprising.  Demigods tended to have ADHD, it was in our blood as a defensive mechanism against monsters and the like. Unfortunately, ADHD also had the effect of mucking one's thoughts. Or perhaps, as was common as another demon haunting demigods, was just misfortune.  ...at least not since I lost my father when he went on a work trip" The words rang in his ears as he could only sympathize with her. Being a demigod...it wasn't easy. And being a mortal in the world of the gods, well, some could say that this was even worse. Her story did not surprise him either. It was as if fate willed the children of the gods to follow a path of misery in their ascension, their anguish masked with great powers. 


    All he could do really, was listen. Just listen. He had been so detached from this camp that he had almost forgotten the woes of his fellow demigods. He knew that he had it rough. He knew that he may have had it rougher than others. Still, that didn't mean that his despair had any more right to trump the miseries of others. All demigod children were special; they were loners in this world. Their continued steps through camp had led them far from the mess hall, away from the fires and the warmth of the indoors, and further into the growing night and the breeze that followed.

Cassie fell quiet after her last statement. It had seemed to be the last statement made as well. The silence hung in the air for a moment and the daughter of Persephone grew quieter before she tried to play off her sad words that seemed to darken the atmosphere around them a bit."yeah...um sorry about that didn't mean for that to come out. .y. ya know"She said her confidence just barely there at that point. It was sort of a weak moment for her dredging up her past. Granted she was sure others had it worse but it still was a sore spot for her. Falling into silence again she started to look away and to the night sky for a moment. The breeze making the air crisp and chilly giving signs of the coming winter. For a moment she let a shiver run down her spine before she gently set King down and watched as he too hated the breeze and had ran back to the cabin where,Cassie , was sure a trail of diet would be left. She closed her eyes for a moment debating on weither or not to suggest them go to a warmer spot or not .
