News traveled fast in a small camp, especially between cabin leaders. It took only a few moments for Charlotte to catch wind of a last second change. She had been doing her usual cabin leader duties and making plans with James when she heard the news that her brother had volunteered last second. Most of the camp was still too shocked by the attack to volunteer, she however had remembered the last attacked. The camp needed this quest to go well, the entire morel had been down since long before the attack and this was the final blow. More and more campers were choosing to leave more and more. They had to make camp safe again.

As she made her way back into her cabin she saw her brother pacing around before sitting on his bed, clearly having not heard her coming in. She smirked as she didn't say anything, walking past him to her own things and searching around. A snoozing ray had found his way snuggled under her covers, perking his head from under as he heard Charlotte moving around. She smiled as she pulled out a bundle of arrows from the depths of her belongings and a small case.

She just set them both down on her brothers bed next to him. "Well since you are going out there I figured you might use these." she said. He didn't need to explain to her why he was going, she knew Daven was on that list of volunteers. Jay was a sweetheart in his own way. He was only two years younger than her but she knew he knew what he was doing. Didn't mean she couldn't worry for her brother. "The case as extra ambrosia in it, and the arrows, well they are something I've been working on." she said picking up one carefully and tapping the tip of it arrow, it giving a florescent glow in response before dimming down again. "They are flashbang arrows. When the Tip his any hard surface it'll crack open and create a blinding light. In case you need a fast escape or anything." Charlotte set the arrow down and looked over at him with a playful smile "I don't need to tell you to watch your ass out there right?"

Small bits of our destinies? Charlotte smiled and sighed, she liked that idea, even if it was small. John, John had been her choice at once. Along with Harper. Being cabin leader, leaving, letting roxy take control and then stepping up to leader again? All her choice. Her mom? No her choice but it was her choice to keep her memory. She nodded at his soft voice, "I like the sound of that"

When she listened to him she had realized how soft his voice was and how something in him seemed to change but she listened fully intent on his words till he had pushed back a unnoticed strand of hair she had. Charlotte actually did something she didn't know she still knew how to do. Blushed. Her face instantly heated up and while it was a small blush it was still there. That second that they were close could have lasted a eternity and she wouldn't have noticed till he finally cleared his throat and she shook off internally whatever took a hold of her. She knew better than to play the hopeless romantic it only ended badly. "Yeah we probably should." she said standing up in the cave from their centered location. Next time she would bring a blanket or something softer to lay on. As she stood up and she held out her hand to him to help him up. "Besides. I'd be lucky to be stuck with you."

Charlotte listened to the guy. James hardly knew her, only in name, yet since the hour ago they met she had never had seen someone so genuinely care about her well being. She smiled at him genuinely and laughed lightly. "That sounds perfect actually." Some place away from camp and all that. No Siblings, no duties, no runaway friends or anything like that. Just you and me. She knew that this was his places, and that she was just visiting, but still the idea of them here together was, nice. Charlotte didn't know what she wanted to do anymore, but spending time with James was on that list. She enjoyed being around him, he made her smile and feel good.

"I think i'd like that a lot, I like hanging out with you." she said with a smile before plopping down in the middle of the cave, "and if you'd like, i could help you with demigod training. I'm a pretty decent fighter and that way you don't have to run and try to hide next time."

Embarrassing? Charlotte looked at the boy and shook her head "Being safe isn't something to be embarrassed about. We are Demigods, we are literally in the business of always saving our own lives." She took in everything of the cave, letting herself get lost in all the surrounding. Everything was so unreal, it felt like she was almost not in her own life anymore. She didn't have a cabin to go back to and lead, she didn't have responsibilities and things to move past. She just had, now. This Cave.

"I'm glad you found this too, Its unbelievable." she said turning back to him with a smile, "Thank you for showing me this place. Its.. I don't even know how to put it in words." She smiled at him before kinda giving a all around them jester. "It feels like nothing exist outside this cave. Like it can never be tainted by whats outside."
