It does cause him to overlook finer details that are important. fears-- Letting his mom down, Helplessness, Not being able to save those close to him, losing his abilities to heal others preferred weapon-- Pilum cabin/cohort-- 1st Cohort allegiance-- Roman personality-- A voice of reason in the aftermath of a battle and a level head in the confusion of a trauma room Alex is in many ways exactly what you would expect a son of Aesculapius to be. As an experienced battlefield medic he can usually be found in the sick bay where he is most at home directing operations, participating in surgeries and in general just keeping the soldiers of the legion alive to fight another day. He is quite skilled and knowledgeable in battlefield medicine and as a member of the first cohort is often looked to as a leader among his peers. Alex does fall victim to many of the personality traits seen in doctors and surgeons. While very skilled he is prone to overconfidence in his abilities, his busy schedule can make it seem like he is haughty or impatient and his knowledge and skill in the infirmary might make him a little egotistical at times. Perhaps his greatest failing is his tendency to over simplify situations in his attempt to triage and manage tasks. He often over looks finer details and sometimes needs someone to remind him to take things slow and consider all possible outcomes. That said he is very compassionate and does generally care about his patients it just might be a little hard for him to show that side of himself with everything that he has going on. godly parent-- Aesculapius family-- Gessica Rossi McCormack – Mother - Forty-three – Nurse, Daughter of Apollo Peter McCormack – Forty-five – Stepfather – IT consultant, Legacy of Techne pets-- N/A hometown-- New Rome history-- Alex’s mother Gessica Rossi was a Roman daughter of Apollo who served as a medic in the Legion. As a member of one of the older Roman families Gessica served in the 1st cohort and eventually moved on to further her medical career as a nurse in Philadelphia. It was here that she met and fell in love with one of her patients which happened to be the god Aesculapius. A whirlwind romance soon began and nine months later a new Roman was born. While his father didn’t stick around Alex was raised to know exactly what he was and even though he lived outside of New Rome it was always expected that he would eventually be chosen by the goddess Lupa and taken to prove himself at the Wolf House so that he could continue the family legacy. Though he did not know it at the time he was just beginning to feel the pressure of those familial expectations but when he was finally taken by the wolf goddess they proved to be the driving force that helped him through the trials that he faced. Eventually Alex completed his testing and made his way to New Rome. There he found many family members he had never met but who were more than willing to provide him with reference letters. This combined with his family’s station and his status as a child of Aesculapius earned him the prestige he needed to land him in the 1st cohort. Here Alex found an almost immediate role as a battlefield surgeon and medic. Alex thrived in his new role. With his demigod enhanced skills at medicine and healing he gained a reputation as a valued asset of his cohort which was good as those expectations to do his family proud continued to drive him farther. Those expectations were not always easy to live up to but as he grew and his skills continued to improve it seemed he would indeed live up to his family’s legacy. He became known as a leader on the battlefield and in the sick bay and his path seemed set. Unfortunately not all is as it seems. Despite his success his family, especially his mother, never seems to be satisfied with his progress. This has gotten much worse as he has gotten older and while he has managed to keep himself together so far those who know him best realize that he has a tendency to push himself too hard sometimes. While he hasn’t cracked yet it may only be a matter of time and if that happens there is no telling who might get hurt in the process. It’s something that he fears more and more each day.
