Hailey was busy making a note on a mechanism on the blueprint when she noticed the top of her paper was going down. She frowned a bit as she looked up the blueprint to see a finger. That really confused Hailey before she looked up to see Theo. And he still looked as good when she saw him… when was the last time she saw him? She smiled at him before he had to make his comment about her being a shirt thief. She rolled her eyes before she said, “I say that this shirt is quite comfy and that you're probably never going to get it back.” She stuck her tongue out at him for extra good measure before she added, “And it's nice to see you too, stranger.”

"Not having dreams is a bit of a blessing within itself," Hailey said with a bit of a shrug. "I mean, the gods use it to connect with us and stuff, so if you're not dreaming, you don't have to worry about them barging in and forcing their worries onto you. You probably don't think so, but I think that's very nice to have." Not that Hephaestus had any reason to contact Hailey in her sleep, since she had several more competent siblings who could deal with those problems.
But Hailey was pulled out of those thoughts when Natasha asked how she broke her curse. "I got tired of running around camp scared and being targeted by seven year old boys as potential pets... I sought out the Hecate cabin. I figured since magic was the thing that got me in that mess that magic was the thing to get me out of it."

Hailey still hadn't given Theo back his shirt and she really didn't have any plans to do so anyway. And why should she anyway? He had a quite comfortable shirt and there was really no reason why she should give up something like that quite easily. So she wore every possibly chance she could to take full advantage of it.
Like today, she was wearing his shirt again, but she knotted it up at the bottom so a little bit of her stomach was showing along with a pair of shorts. She was sitting out on the porch of the Hephaestus cabin with a blueprint in her lap as she was marking changes with a pencil. It wasn't nothing too special, since she really didn't tap into her Hephaestus side usually, but she figured that she lend some help since one of her younger siblings was struggling with the schematics for some machine.

She pursed her lips together as Natasha seemed to fully believe that she deserved her fate being a wolf for so many years. And it was probably over something very minute and silly. She wanted to say more to comfort her, but she noticed how Natasha turned cold on her. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to push the issues, especially if this was the first time they had met.
Hailey thought about it for a moment. How long had she been human. Sometimes, it felt like her transformation was yesterday. She couldn't forget the pain she went through her body was ripped from one form to another, despite how many times she blocked it out. She winced a bit before she looked over at Natasha and said, "About eight months, I guess. But sometimes it feels like it was only yesterday. I know I still have nightmares about those times I was still so-called smol and furry." But the good thing was that she rarely had those nightmares anymore since she found a constant bed mate to keep her company and to wear her out when so she was too tired to have those nightmares.

Her compliment got her a kiss, which Hailey wasn't going to complain about at all. However, what he said afterwards made her face heat up slightly. He called her beautiful, which was something she still wasn't used to. But what else he told her gave her an idea in her head.
Hailey glanced off to the side for a moment and smirked before she looked back at Theo. “You know,” she whispered back to him. “My cabin is next door if you want to continue the favorable things there.” She chuckled a bit as she pulled away from him slightly to tease him. “Or we could continue our walk from earlier.”

A Hailey fish? She had to laugh and roll her eyes. "I don't really recall anybody getting turned into a fish, like, ever," she said with a bit of a shrug. "From what I can tell, they prefer mammals, like cows, wolves, jackalopes. Those sorts of things. So I don't think you'll catch a Hailey fish or any type of fish honestly." She smirked as she looked up at him. She had to give him a little bit of a hard time, especially to get back with all that teasing he usually did to her.
"Favorably to compliments?" Hailey said she moved one of her arms so she could rest her hand on his chest. "Even when you're fishing for them?" She smirked a little bit before she tapped her pointed her on his chest. "Well... I think you're handsome if that accounts for anything."

Hailey froze for a moment. She really thought she deserved her punishment of being turned into a wolf? Whatever she did had to be bad. Hailey didn't want to pry. She thought falling in love and breaking her oath was bad, but this? This was worse. Hailey pressed her lips together before she reached out to put a hand on the girl's shoulder. "Natasha?" she said a bit hesitantly before she continued. "I don't know what you did and I don't want to know, but nobody deserves to be turned into an animal. That's just cruel and unusual punishment. And I can't imagine five years. I know mine was probably indefinitely if I didn't seek help, but that's not a punishment that's okay to have."
She nodded her head to herself as she pulled her hand away. "But things will get better, hopefully. I don't know." She shrugged a bit. "But things are at least looking better for me, so hopefully they will for you too."

She had lost their little battle for now, but it wasn't anything to get upset about. She was wrapped up in Theo's arms and she was pretty content for the moment. "Your big ego is good for one thing," she chuckled as she leaned up against him. She smiled up at him as he reached up and stroked her cheek. It was nice just being the two of them in the shade of one of the cabins. It was almost like their own little word. Almost.
"Maybe you'd get your compliments easier if you used a fishing rod," Hailey teased him back. She knew shew as so going to get it once they had a true moment to themselves. But for right now, she seemed to be safe, especially from the tickle fingers. "But what kind of girl wouldn't make you work for your compliments? That sort of thing makes egos grow even further."

Of course, as her face that redder, her nose twitched once more, which only added to her embarrassment. They were both at a stalemate, but he had the upper hand. And she did realize that she was wrapped up in his arms, which only put him in prime position for tickling. But would she relent and give into what he wanted and make his ego grow... along with the other things he had mentioned? Or did she stand her ground and risk more tickles along with other things?
She looked up at him as she tilted her head to the side as she looked at him. "You can be quite sweet and nice," she said as a slight smirk crept onto her face. "Fine... you make me happy and I smile and laugh a lot on a daily basis. Happy now?"

Hailey giggled as Theo leaned in to nip at her tongue before he pulled her into a kiss. She could tell this was one of the ways he was going to use to admit that he made her happy and she was more than willing to play along for now, especially since he added his tongue into the mix. She played his slightly as she kissed him. And she could tell that he wasn't letting her pull away anytime soon, which was something that she was definitely not going to complain about.
When he finally pulled away, she took deep breaths as she tried to catch her breath. However, she didn't have time to catch her breath for long before Theo said something that was definitely embarrassing. Her face heated up a bright red as she tried to shrink down a bit. "Theo..." she whined as she pressed her lips together. "Really? Seriously?"

Hailey thought for a moment before she shrugged her shoulders. "I guess they can be assholes. I never saw them as gentle creatures. I'm sorry you had to run around with them. I'd probably rip their throats out or something." But at least it looked like they were finally past the awkward stage of this so-called meeting. And Natasha seemed like a pretty cool person and she wouldn't mind having more of these meeting with her.
"Really?" Hailey said as she moved forward in her seat a little bit more. "She did that to you over your powers? Dear gods, add petty along with her being an asshole." Hailey rolled her eyes as she sighed and looked over at Natasha. "That must really suck, especially for something so... silly. I mean, I broke my oath and she turned me into a jackalope, but a wolf for your powers." She rolled her eyes again before she said, "I'm so glad that I'm out of that bitch's control."

Hailey tried to keep the giggles back when he tickled her again, but few slipped through as she squirmed in his arms. He was not letting up on the subject and she was not going to allow his ego to grow any further. If anything, they were close to a stalemate and none of them seemed to be budging anytime soon. "A very serious case on your end," she said with a smirk. He wasn't going to give up from what she could tell, but neither was she.
"That luck can run out soon, you know," she said as her smirk grew a little bit wider. She knew she was trying her own luck with him and she knew he would probably start using those measures to get her to talk. And she was right as he pulled her to a shaded spot beside the cabins as he pulled her up against him. She put her hands on his upper arms as she raised her eyebrows at him and tilted her head to the side. "I already told you, I'm not making that ego grow," she said before she stuck her tongue at him again.

Hailey's face heated up and her nose twitched again once the girl started laughing at her jackalope history. This was a grand start to everything. But once she could calm down her laughter, the girl explained why she found the situation so hilarious. Hailey's face heated up a little bit more as she chuckled a bit. "I guess I was cute or, at least, that's what my boyfriend tells me. But those horns were just a pain in the butt to deal with." But she did have her difficulties. Harassed by children? Hailey rolled her eyes. "There was this one boy who called me a deer bunny and tried to convince his cabin leader to keep me. Thankfully, she wasn't having any of it and she let me go."
But the girl, Natasha, was also a former animal. Hailey listened intently before she moved in her seat. She turned it so that the back was facing Natasha and Hailey straddled it as she leaned forward on it before she said, "Wait, Artemis also made you an animal as well?" She sighed as she rolled her eyes. "I swear she has issues."

"A test doesn't necessarily mean that it validates anything," she said as she tried to hold her ground. "It only tests it, but you have to do multiple tests to get a validation and you're doing one right now." She nodded her head as she agreed to herself. There was no way she was going to have Theo's ego grow even further, even if he did have the upper hand in that situation with his hand on her ticklish spot. Hailey squirmed as Theo's fingered moved along her ribs as she tried to stifle a laugh. She wouldn't give in. Not one bit.
But there was other ways of making her talk and her hesitation was because he was right? Hailey rolled her eyes. "Good luck finding another jackalope," she said with a bit of a smirk. "Because most likely if you do find a jackalope, it'll be a huntress and not all are like me. Some of them can be quite rude or even not like boys at all, so you'd be SOL most lightly."

"Normalizing you?" Hailey said with a laugh as she shook her head. "Nah, I don't think I'm even qualified to be even doing that. Apparently I'm adjusting to human life a little too well so Chiron thought I needed a support group, I guess. I swear I will never know what goes through that horse's brain." She shrugged her shoulders as she slumped in her chair a little bit. "And I'm taking a guess that you're not the shrink either." Hailey sighed as she reached up to run her fingers through her hair. "Are we supposed to wait for someone to come start this little party or not? Because I can easily start it off. My name's Hailey and I used to be jackalope up until a month or so ago."
